I am happy I’m not the only one who noticed Kaneki « I did it for everyone » was him lying to himself. Hopefully « Rize » will confront him about it next chapter. And hopefully also abt the fact he has been Killing ghouls since part 1 and so that he has been a murderer for a while now. We’ll see. I love your blog and you are Always very kind! <3

YES EXACTLY ANON! I mean, first of all thank you so much for the nice words, you’re adorable kajebkjbe ❤ but yes, I hope that “Rize” will make him realize all of this soon, because…

image

the term “murderer” indeed could have been used a while ago already to define him, since he used to kill ghouls and even eat them.

I mean, in this manga everyone (except for Yoriko) did morally reprehensive stuff, so it’s not that Kaneki has to take it harder upon himself or that he’s worse than other characters, but all in all, it’s as @randomthoughtpatterns explained here: so far apparently, only humans are “people” for Kaneki, he doesn’t see ghouls as their equal, which is why he never used to see himself as a murderer, that is until he started killing humans in ch144.

So I really hope “Rize” will call him out on this big hypocrisy of his (or maybe it will be for a later character development and he’ll hate himself for killing humans first until he realizes it’s way too hypocritical?), because it’s highly passed the time for Kaneki to start considering humans and ghouls as equal, especially since he is in love with a ghoul + he’s supposed to help bringing coexistence.

The biggest irony of it all is that, on this aspect just like on many others, he and Touka are a set too, since even as a ghoul Touka has the mentality that her species is worth less than humankind:

image

And Dragoneki’s rampage is definitely not helping this mentality…

image

So, whether this important realization is for next week or slightly later, I hope one day Kaneki & Touka (as well as Amon and a few others) will understand that…

image

…this world only has a future if they stop lying to themselves about one species being better than the other (which is overall illustrated by Touka expecting their hybrid baby in a world that currently holds no chance of a happy future for it).

So I love that there is a strong connotation behind “Rize” calling Kaneki by a term that defines him (and 99.5% of the cast) but that no one ever used to refer to him before…

image

and I’m hoping that this will be because he realized he’s been a murderer for a while now, since he had no mercy for ghouls either at some earlier point in the story.

But yeah, we’ll see next week. Thank you again so much for the nice words Anon ❤ Wishing you a lovely day!

midnight-in-town:

…errrr, Kaneki, my angsty son… you’re highly entertaining and I love the way you lie to yourself, but we already agreed about that back when Itori said an exactly similar lie in ch148:

image

In fact the whole ch144 never implied that you did this to “save everyone”, I mean…

image
image
image

so, at least, admit it to yourself

You didn’t become a murderer to save the ghoul kind, because that, at least, you would be able to justify to yourself as acting as the OEK, for the sake of the rebellion or for “the greater good” where ghouls are concerned.

But no, no, you became a murderer mainly for the sake of one person (two if you count the baby), because you just didn’t want to lose the girl you love and your future family. So better acknowledge that as fast as you can before Rize throws the harsh truth to your face.

image

That’s not really what I wrote Anon. 🙂 I said that ch144 emphasized the idea that he did it mainly for the sake of his future family.

Of course, Kaneki doesn’t only care about Touka and his future kid: as you said he cares about Hina, Nishiki, Yomo, Tsukiyama, the Qs, Akira… However, Shuu did call him out before (see above, from ch128) for not exactly caring about the rebellion and overall the future of the ghoul kind because, well, it’s true.

image

Again, ch144 emphasized on the notion that he knew he would have to cross a  line that he stayed away from until then (eating humans and then “becoming a murderer” when Dragoneki went on a rampage), all for the sake of “what was important” to him.

And as he himself said, “he’s always known [what’s important to him]”…

image

…that’s why I’m saying that there is no need for him to lie to himself now because “Rize” isn’t going to let him escape the fact that he “became a murderer”, not in ch144 by the way but a long time before.

I hope it makes more sense that way! Have a nice day :))

1. Would the undertaker have, or show any yandere traits to anyone? 2. Does the undertaker have any kinks or fetishes, that he keeps secret?

hitsugikuro:

I wouldn’t really consider Undertaker to be a typical yandere, no.   He does have a fixation or obsession with the Phantomhives (for whatever reason it ends up being), but how he acts towards them doesn’t quite reach the manic, disturbingly possessive levels that are typical of a yandere.  That’s just my opinion, anyway.  You could argue that the two sides of his personality share some traits with one, but I think it’s more complicated than that.  Like, you could see the moment where he threatened to kill Sebastian that way:

image

…But I think that was coming from a practical perspective of him weighing Sebastian’s usefulness vs. the fact that Sebastian really does intend to eat our!Ciel’s soul, which he didn’t have confirmation of until then.  The difference here is that Sebastian actually is a threat (when he’s uncollared) rather than a perceived threat… for example, real!Ciel’s fixation on keeping himself and his twin brother together, possibly even going so far as to let his parents be killed (if you believe the RCMT, which admittedly I’m starting to see how it might be true!).

Plus, yanderes tend to fixate so heavily on their one object of affection that they end up physically or psychologically hurting/torturing or controlling them.  By comparison, Undertaker has allowed our!Ciel a large amount of autonomy even if he’s clearly disapproved of some of his decisions.

image

Which must be painful and frustrating for him if he’s seen generations of them all make similar mistakes.  But he’s still chosen (for now at least) to let our!Ciel carry on with his Watchdog duty.  Who knows if that might change in the near future, though.

As for kinks and fetishes… haha, I have no idea really?  I actually think it’d be hilarious if, for all his weirdness and other eccentricities, he’s really vanilla in bed. XD

Since we finally got better glimpses at Sebastian’s true form

zolotaya-orda:

I’ve begun to wonder about something from a while back.
This Chapter Cover.

But mostly Sebastian’s shadow…..

Which I never could quite understand what the dots were. But if Sebasian’s eyes are like like we’ve seen in Chapter 136 then…
Maybe this is close to what his true form looks like.
He’s been associated with a crow/raven for ages now; so a beak maybe? With teeth? Then multiple eyes and horns and claws and feathers? and the shadowy blood gloop mist stuff too!
Maybe idk.
Discuss?

I find it odd how Frances wears a red lipstick in BotA, although we may not know if it’s the real color in the manga just like how Ronald’s jacket is somehow beige in anime (ugh). Anyway in Victorian era, visible makeup was frowned upon as it was associated with prostitutes. Back then women were supposed to be modest in looks and behavior. Why do you think a respectable noble woman like Frances who really abides to social rules would use such a bold color?

Hi Anon! Okay but…

image

…considering that Frannie doesn’t wear lipstick in the manga (or at least nothing red), I think it’s safe to say that, as expected, anime!Kuro is not canon. xD

Another example that I can give you to insist that it shouldn’t be taken as a reference is that Vincent’s eyes were brown in BoC and Edward’s were blue in BotA, when Vincent canonically had blue/grey eyes and Ed’s eyes are green.

So again, please don’t use the animation of Kuroshitsuji as a reference, it’s generally wrong. :))

By the way Anon though, careful about Frances “really abiding by the formal rules of society” because her character actually provides a big contrast in this aspect. I mean, what you said is true in appearance because she does look like a respectable noble woman but…

image
image

everything else that she is actually doesn’t define her as your usual noble woman for the time era (just like Claudia and Lizzie, it’s a family thing ;)). Just insisting a little to be sure that you and I agree on this nice contrast. :))

I hope it helps, thanks for passing by and have a nice day Anon! ^3^
