I can’t remember if anyone pointed this out (if so, I forgot to reblog it and I apologize) but Bravat is throwing so much shade at Ciel with just that one sentence: he definitely knows our!Ciel is not the real one since his Lord Sirius is. xDD
Sneaky Yana-sensei, sneaky.
That’s okay tho, Bravat’s going to get proved wrong very soon 😀
still on the matter of ch123 and shade…
I present my very real theory about Lizzie punching Bravat in the face (or just stabbing him with her sword works too), double proving him wrong about using her as a hostage/pawn and not taking her feelings for our!Ciel more seriously.
Hi Anon! Ahhh, I answered this question a few chapters ago and I haven’t changed my mind. 🙂 Considering the following…
I think that if Kaneki really needs to be digged out, then Touka at least will be a part of those who save him. Maybe she’ll be joined by the Qs if she can’t dig him out on her own or if she’s attacked at the last moment by V, or maybe Kaneki will find a way to dig himself out, that I don’t know, but Touka will most likely be there when he comes out.
In fact, I definitely agree with @yorozuya-ken-chan‘s idea here, based on how Touka came to be in Ishida’s mind:
The latest cliffhanger seems to imply that Kaneki will either wake up inside Dragon or have a different dream with Rize in tomorrow’s chapter. So maybe what will save Kaneki is that he’ll hear Touka calling out for him, or he’ll just simply notice that Touka is very close to where he is in the next few chapters (either as he’s awake but trapped in dragon, or still dreaming). :))
EDIT: I forgot to mention that it’s also simply a parallel of situation…
Kaneki became Dragon because he came back to the 24th ward to save Touka and the others, so now it’s Touka’s turn to save him and put an end to what Furuta started using Touka herself (and the others) as bait. …Actually, I’d even love a reverse parallel to that scene from ch144, with Kaneki thinking about “ToukaToukaTouka” as he slowly claws his way out of Dragon. :3
Also, don’t worry Anon, while Kaneki still has personal issues to solve, he probably won’t be suicidal again, as @coromoor explained here thanks to the imagery of his dream.
I hope it answers your question! Have a nice day. :))
Real question, kinda related to who will free Kaneki: whose point of view do you think we’ll follow in the next chapter?
Are we going to witness Kaneki trying to cross that “sea of sins”?
Or are we switching back to people trying to dig him out?
Me thinks it depends if some parts of Touka & co are attacked by V (since we saw them in the arc trying to attack both humans and ghouls) or guys like Donato attacking Amon (@linkspooky pointed out rightfully that Valentine’s day next Wednesday is Donato’s birthday), because if so we’re switching pov definitely.
At the same time I’m not sure that Sensei intends on delaying Kaneki being freed for much longer, but it could also turn out to be vol 15′s cliffhanger…
It’s fine my friend, I wasn’t being too serious in my reply. Canonically speaking I doubt they’ve formed a romantic relationship (despite anything either of them may or may not feel). As far as ships go it’s all different strokes for different folks. There’s lots of angst potential in eremika and many people eat that stuff up like dessert.
To be honest I think that Eren has been very good at hiding his feelings and has been mostly completely stoic since we were reintroduced to him. So it’s not just Mikasa. I think his eyes speak more than anything and to me they looked sad, both when talking to Reiner/Falco and when hearing what Mikasa had to say about his actions. He knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end of this horror, he knows what he’s inflicting on these people.
All other points aside though I think that saying Eren disregards Mikasa and exploits her loyalty really does his character a huge disservice. He has always tried to look out for her in his own ways (pushing her away early on in the series was one of his ways of trying to protect her although yes he was also jealous at the time). It’s clear they definitely have a clashing of ideals, now more than ever, but we have no idea how their relationship has changed over the last four years. He’s always wanted to pursue his goals and he has always given Mikasa the option to either follow him or not. She chooses to follow him because she cares about him. I have never felt that Eren has ever meant to exploit that in any way.
The theme around their relationship has always been about two flawed people trying to navigate their lives together. They argue and disagree a lot but at the end of the day they have love for one another and they protect each other. That there, at least for me, is one of the huge appeals to the pairing.
Why are they installing them? They mention the “area being cleared”. The lights are being placed on the roof, where only a Titan could see, but only if the Titan were in the vicinity. For example, you couldn’t get a proper visual of all the lights from the Plaza, where the actual fight is happening.
So I think it’s safe to assume that the lights are being placed for someone at a much higher vantage point than usual.
I see two possible reasons for this.
A much taller Titan is coming. I wonder who?
OR
Someone from even higher above is watching for them. The SC’s plan is still unfolding, so we have yet to see what else they’ve got up their sleeve. I have two words:
Airborne.Extraction. I wonder who on Paradis would be an excellent freaking pilot, one eye be damned?
i know we haven’t seen hange yet and i know the kids grew up but i like how levi is the only one without a major makeover, he’s the only one with a cloak (the cloak which was always pretty symbolic, so i feel like there’s something more that can be derived from this) and blades and pieces of the old gear – maybe its preemptive to say this but it seems to me like erwin’s corps are figuratively dead with the exception of him.
this bitch is still living in the past, he looks hard and rougher, like he’s been staring in the mirror for 4 years thinking about killing zeke. he stood up high pretty much that whole time until he had to, like he was waiting/looking for him to show up. the two panels where they were shown together are significant, cus the promise is alive, lads. honestly i was worried about seeing levi but i am Pleased so far.
When Levi was revealed to be an Ackerman, it was natural for us to start making comparisons between these two super soldiers of the Survey Corps. Both Levi and Mikasa share a calm exterior that often masks deep feelings; they are ferocious in battle and care deeply about those around them.
But for my favorite Mikasa moment, I’ve chosen a panel where she does something that Levi wouldn’t do.
Let’s back up. We’re in Trost. Mikasa has just heroically saved a large group of citizens from an approaching Titan. She goes to investigate why the evacuation is stalling and notices that a merchant, Dimo Reeves, has blocked the exit.
I could simply say, “Mikasa resolved the situation”, but let me be more verbose. Fifteen year old military trainee Mikasa Ackerman quickly and effectively outsmarts a powerful, cunning and ruthless businessman more than twice her age. Huzzah!
She is about to leave when she is stopped by a young girl who wants to express her thanks. Mikasa responds with a brave salute, not because she wants to, but because she knows it will mean something to the child.
That small act of compassion and kindness is my favorite Mikasa Ackerman moment.
This post is more than two years old, but I’m bringing it back for reasons of Chapter 102. I’ve always loved the moment when Mikasa saluted the young girl. It’s nice to know Isayama did as well.

So, as it’s been confirmed :Re is now entering its final arc and even tho I think Sensei will end :Re on ch204 (which means approximately December of this year, we supposedly still have time), I just want to bring back this crack theory just in case it doesn’t turn out that way because ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
“Takatsuki Sen”, introduced at the very beginning of TG (ch1), wrote three significant books during the timeline of the story: The Black Goat’s Egg, the Hanged Man’s MacGuffin & King Bileygr so, you know, maybe Sensei intends on making TG a trilogy? :))
we had TG, TG :Joker, TG :Jack, TG :Re (King), so if Sensei wants to be consistent, he might as well make a TG :Queen or a TG :Ace, especially since the 4 Aces are all coming together currently.
Other reasons are theoretical and mostly about V as the big bad (explained above), but all in all I’d say this theory depends on Sensei’s pace as we go towards the end of :Re.
If some things have yet to be addressed by the time it’s the end, then I think we can expect a part 3. Otherwise, well, it’s going to be a happy ending for Kaneki, which is great too. :3
