what if the one who ends up using Dragonslayer (from Farnese’s dream) is not Farnese or Schierke or even Dog-Guts, but rather…
Casca herself?
Hear me out, the broken doll is only missing but a few fragments and this lil one here changes with every memory the girls retrieved (she spoke and expressed her desires when she couldn’t speak at all at first). If this keeps up, which is the whole point of this arc, Casca will slowly come back more and at some point, she’ll be able to confront her own past in order to fulfill her wishes and end this journey.
This might imply having to fight by herself the embodiment of her fears once we get to the final fragment…
otherwise she’ll never find her resolve in order to finally cope with everything that she went through.
Besides, it’d be a beautiful parallel considering that Dragonslayer is a big reason our Black Swordsman managed to fight and survive all this time, so much that the sword itself became stronger and more efficient against Apostles after killing so many of them.
Finally, it would also be an interesting nod back to why Casca once took a sword and learnt how to fight for herself…
…right after she was assaulted for the first time. Using Griffith’s initial advice to overcome what he did to her, wouldn’t it be awesome?
I’m looking forward to anyone who might use Dragonslayer in a future chapter, but I’ll be extra happy if this person turns out to be Casca, who’s finally ready to come back. 😀
Hi Anon! Thank you for your well wishes, I hope you’re having a great time too ^3^
Your French is very good, no worries, you could have just chosen to say “Je te remercie d’avance” since I don’t hold any special position compared to you, we’re not in a professional environment or anything necessitating the use of “vous” but that’s it. :))
Anyway, to answer your other question, it’s been a while since I last checked Seb’s seal but you’re right…
It is indeed tetragrammaton. 🙂
Now, I’m sure that for now many interpretations are possible and I’m not always the best at symbolism, but from my own point of view, I think the tetragrammaton is simply implying the theological origin of demons in Kuroshitsuji.
It may not seem to be that way originally, but religion is a part of Kuro’s settings for me, hence why souls are such a big deal. It’s also visible through learning what the Shinigamis truly are…
because it is a religious sin to give up the life God gave you. Hence the terrible punishment. (Btw, friendly reminder that, in canon, Shinigamis only stop the records and collect the souls of the dead; it was implied that Judgement between Heaven and Hell is passed upon those souls by a superior authority).
Finally, even when you look at what we can guess of Seb’s summoning, it was implied more than once that our!Ciel losing his faith in God was part of the reason why Seb answered his cry of despair as his brother was sacrificed.
So there are two paths in Kuro:
the path of “light” where you live by God’s say and do God’s will and at the very end your soul will rest in peace,
or the path towards the abyss, which is what our!Ciel chose when he turned his back to God and sold his soul to a demon, leading right down to eternal damnation.
additional path: the Shinigamis who are probably akin to lost souls and who are working like slaves in order to get redemption for their sin. But the very end is either path above anyway.
Back to Seb’s seal, the reason the tetragrammaton is used even if, you’re right, it more generally is used to refer to God or YHWH, is in my opinion to imply that the path of light and the road to the abyss are basically two faces of the same coin.
It shows in how the cultists justified what they did to the twins in ch135:
Because if pure souls belong to the path of light, then corrupted, tainted or degraded souls are more likely to choose the road towards the abyss, which is precisely what happened with our!Ciel (and most likely real!Ciel too, when you see how he attacked Soma and Agni :/).
In other words, souls can choose either path: they can be saved, they can be tempted, they can be damned with religion/faith/theology being at the center of all this. If your soul is pure then the path of light will lead you to Heaven. If your soul is corrupted then the road to the abyss, with Hell at the very end, is waiting for you. Two faces of the same coin, same tetragrammaton (especially since for some faiths demons are fallen angels). That’s my take on it for now. 🙂
Please take with a grain of salt, but I hope I managed to explain properly. I don’t think you’ll find that everyone agrees on this specific matter, but I doubt Yana is going to launch herself into theological debates to explain Seb’s origin.
Have a nice day Anon and thanks again for the well wishes! ^3^
EDIT: Anon, look here, I found another discussion on the subject :)))
Because according to the translation by @chilly-territory, everyone who was here 15 years ago more or less understood that another equally big threat is coming to Ergastulum and that’s when Nicolas says:
“ThAt’s wHy. If wE wANna dRiVe tHem oUT, nOw iS oUR oNLy cHaNcE. ThE BeNRiYa’s On cAlL.”
“The Benriya is on call”, precisely as the page shows Alex still crying.
So obviously Alex is not going to run away like Worick’s note asked her to do. Instead, Alex and Nico are going to be the Benriya 2.0 until Worick comes back.
omg, LMAO, you’re slightly late but that’s okay hon’, here’s the perfect gift for you which definitely represented every TG fan’s realization at one point or another xDD
EDIT: that was the very first hint we got that he was the master troll of TG honestly. Ever since then, my love for him knows no boundary xDD
Hi Anon. 🙂 Well tbh, the few takes I read about his sexuality on this website always implied he was gay and myself I used to think he was too, up until a few months ago, when we started delving into the 24th ward part of the plot.
And now I personally think he might be bisexual as I explained above (and because it is more convenient for my lil ot3 with Yomo and Itori), but the thing to keep in mind is that seeing the few hints here and there, it at least seems he’s not straight.
In the end, I doubt it’s going to be much of an issue or important plot point but it’s funny that I got that question/debate so many times. xD Probably because a lot of readers are a bit crazy about Uta.
Yep, she did that too, I mentioned it in the comment section. 🙂
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Anon! Please have a very enjoyable week :33
