Do you think :re is ending with volume 15? :/

Hi Anon! Okay so, vol15 is ending with ch164 at most, so considering how Sensei is taking his time with bringing Kaneki

back, if ch164 is somehow the final chapter of :Re then we’re in for a third part for sure. 🙂

See, taking V down is very probably going to take some time, a time Sensei still has if he decides to take :Re until ch204 in my opinion, but not if he stops at ch164. In fact, most of TG’s villains so far have been about taking V down (and breaking “the equilibrium”) from the very beginning…

  • Kanou and Furuta teamed up a while ago in order to do that,
  • Kanou experimented with Rize and then joined Aogiri while Furuta joined the Clowns
  • Eto assisted Kanou in making more artificial OEGs (Amon, Seidou), to see who could inherit Arima’s position of the OEK when the time would be right
  • meanwhile Arima was keeping a close eye over Kaneki, with the same idea in mind as Eto
  • Furuta helped V destroy the Washuus so that he could also become the head of the CCG in order to turn Kaneki into Dragon…
  • …which then forced ghouls and humans to ally for the very first time in order to stop him.

So now that it’s probably going to be up to Kaneki and the rest of the cast to take V down next…

image

…you can be sure it will take a few more volumes after ch164, especially since we don’t know yet the real extent and influence that this organization possesses, since it encompassed the whole Washuu family.

So if Sensei ends :Re before Kaneki and the rest of the cast completely take V down, then I think a third part will be needed in order to finish everything (even if it doesn’t have to be as long as TG or :Re of course), but that’s just my opinion.

Actually, third part or not, in the end it’s about giving us all the answers and development before ending the story. 🙂 Sensei choosing to do this in :Re or in yet another sequel is not particularly important as long as he finishes what he started!

TL;DR maybe :Re ends with ch164, I have no way to be sure of that right now, but Sensei is definitely not ending Tokyo Ghoul with :Re ch164.

I hope it makes sense! Please have a nice day Anon. :))

I think i see a lot of 6 in tgre chapter 160….

Hi Anon! Yeah, apparently some people noticed some 6s

Not sure I agree or not, since I don’t really see numbers by myself unless they’re made out to be very blatant which is not the case here xDD but anyway, a 6 would indeed make a lot of sense, since it’s the Lovers’ card…

and we got so many evidence of love in this chapter. :33

Sorry I can’t help more, tarot cards aren’t really my thing. :/ Still, have a nice day Anon!

How long left of Tokyo Ghoul? (Redux)

amonmahboi:

So back at chapter 128′s release I predicted that Tokyo Ghoul had at least 50 chapters left until the story finished, and now over 30 chapters later, I predict that Tokyo Ghoul still has around 40 to 50 chapters worth of plot to uncover.

So with that said, let’s go over all of the unresolved plot elements in the story up until this point (:re chapter 160) divided into the necessary and unnecessary.

Necessities (What we need to know/what we need to see):

  • What are the Clowns motivations? (Uta/Donato/Itori/Nico)
  • Who is Kaiko and why does he command V?
  • What is the RC cell and how did ghouls come to exist?
  • What exactly is the V system and how did it begin?
  • What is the current goal of the V organization?
  • What happened over 100 years ago?
  • Who is Hideyoshi Nagachika and what are his secrets?
  • What will become of the Dragon kagune?
  • Where did Furuta go and what does he plan now?
  • Where is Arata Kirishima?
  • What will become of Kaneki and Touka’s unborn child?
  • What happened to Kaneki’s body after the Dragon transformation? (We will find out soon)
  • How is Germany and the GFG connected to the CCG?
  • Who killed the Yasuhisa parents and how did it happen?
  • Who was Noroi and how did he become Noro?
  • What happened in the Cochlea tunnels and what became of Eto?
  • How will the coexistence between human and ghoul be formed?

Additions (What we should see but is not completely necessary to the story):

  • What was Eto’s story in the 24th ward and how did she gain power?
  • How did Eto meet Tatara and form Aogiri Tree?
  • Who was Ukina and what was her connection to V?
  • How do special kagune abilities function? (Cloning, shape shifting etc.)
  • What makes Rio’s kakuhou special?
  • Who is Iyo Washuu and why was she chosen to be the wife for the current Washuu generation?
  • Who is Doctor Shiba? (part of the Q’s development team)
  • What is special about Saiko’s kagune and low RC level?
  • Why did Urie have two kakugan after framing out?
  • Who was the One-eyed Washuu?
  • What happened to Ichimi/Jiro/Sante?

This is everything I can think of for now, if anyone has any other important points for me to add then feel free to comment your ideas on this post.

Do you think our Ciel is stubborn?

Hi Anon! So Ciel, stubborn?

image

Nah, obviously not, I mean he totally knows how to back down sometimes without making a fuss about it. xDDD

image

Really, I don’t know why you’d think that, Ciel is a very reasonable young man who will often agree to change whatever he decided to accomodate others.

TL;DR hahah no but seriously, yes Anon, Ciel is very stubborn but…

Lizzie is probably worse than he is sometimes. xDD

I hope it answers your question. Have a nice day!

Hi. I’m not sure whether or not you’ve watched, read Death Note, if you did, which do you think is more tragic ending/death assuming Ciel will be devour by Sebastian at the end of the story? Being devoured by a demon or wandering in nothingness for eternity? Though I bet Ciel as well ended up wandering in nothingness. Justa random thoughts. Thank you in advance!!

Hi Anon! I half read and then half watched Death Note a long while ago. xD Actually I had started to rewatch it last summer but then I got stuff to do, so, yep.

I don’t really see the link with Kuro though, but to answer your question, as far as I’m concerned there are 3 possible endings for Ciel:

  • Ciel lives on because the contract gets broken => Seb loses.
  • Ciel dies after getting his revenge but his soul is collected by Shinigamis because the contract somehow got broken => Seb is defeated.
  • Ciel dies after getting his revenge and his soul is eaten by Seb => Seb gets food!

I was actually discussing this a while ago with @dorkshadows because we have this convo about the RCMT (real!Ciel mastermind theory = real!Ciel is partially involved with what happened 4 years ago) and, while I really don’t think Yana will want to make Ciel live on, I’d rather have his soul be collected by Shinigamis than eaten by Seb.

Not that I dislike Seb, I don’t and I think it’s important he gets to eat sometimes, but

nonetheless

I really hope he will be defeated this time and go home hungry.

The other thing is, if the RCMT is true and, more specifically, if real!Ciel knew their parents would be targeted 4 years ago but was okay with it because our!Ciel was the only person that mattered to him

image

…then, since Seb most likely ate the twin’s soul (confirmation or not of that next week), I don’t want our!Ciel’s soul to be stuck with his brother’s forever in Seb’s stomach, because that would be fulfilling real!Ciel’s wish when the twin would have triggered every horror that happened to them, so hell no.

Ciel finally resting in peace, so having his soul collected by a Shinigami (even if it’s to be sent to Hell afterwards), remains the best alternative in my opinion, since

for now

I really doubt that he has any way to live a long future.

Does it answer your question? Sorry if not. ^^” Have a nice day Anon!

Hello Ducky! Not sure if this has been asked before, but… Has there been any discussion by Yana or the Japanese fandom on why O!Ciel needed to take on the identity of R!Ciel? I mean, if the whole family is massacred and O!Ciel lives, then he is naturally next in the succession line, right? Then why did he have to go through the trouble of acting as R!Ciel, not revealing to anyone that he is actually O!Ciel?

akumadeenglish:

Well, the whole flashback we’ve been reading since last August revolves around that very question – it all started with RC’s question to OC ‘Why did you deceive everyone and pretend to be me?” in ch130,

image

so the reason will certainly be revealed within the flashback, most probably in this month’s chapter!

That said, one thing I can say for sure is that it wasn’t for practical reasons (as you pointed out, OC is the rightful “spare” of RC, so with both Vincent and RC being dead, he would have legitimately succeeded the title), but for emotional reasons!

I made this post a few months ago where I compared OC’s situation and motives for taking on his deceased twin’s identity with other famous manga series (Tsubasa Chronicle, Fushigi Yuugi and BASARA) and my conclusion was that in OC’s case it was probably a combination of

Furthermore, I remember there was an interesting theory in the JP fandom that the scene in ch95, where OC was confronted with his past in his nightmare, might actually be pretty much the answer to the question of “Why did OC take on his brother’s identity?”:

image
  • Did you want me to forgive you?
  • Did you want to break free from your weak self?
  • Did you want to make everything yours?
image

OC denied all these accusations, but considering he is depicted as one big liar throughout the series and never really admits his true motives (e.g. JTR arc + Circus arc), I think there is a chance that all these statements were actually true to some extent!

  • Did you want me to forgive you?

→OC suffers from strong guilt feelings because he survived at the expense of RC’s death and believes it should have been RC who survived instead of him (ch91).

image

Thus, he wanted to be forgiven by RC by taking on his name and carrying out the revenge on his behalf.

  • Did you want to break free from your weak self?

→I think this is also a big part of the reason why OC decided to take on his brother’s name. He was a powerless, weak child who could do nothing but watch his brother being taken to the altar and killed before his very eyes. By taking on his brother’s name, maybe he wanted to erase his weak self from this world.

  • Did you want to make everything yours?

→Lastly, this. While OC really loved RC and admired him, we also know that at the same time he’s always had an inferiority complex as well as some feelings of jealousy towards his healthy and sociable brother (ch131).

image

As the second child in the family he literally had nothing, no inheritance, no watchdog title, no fiancee. So while this was certainly not the main motive, maybe a tiny tiny part of him thought that

if he took on his brother’s name, he’d be able to get what he had secretly desired. This would also tie in with what Sebastian said to OC in ch63:

image

So yeah, it’s all just a theory but I personally thought it’s interesting particularly since we all know that Yana loves foreshadowing! xD

Anyway, let’s wait a few more days and hope that the next chapter will give us a somewhat clear answer to your question! 😀
