When did Saiko absorb the poison??

Hello Anon! When they were saving Kaneki in ch161:

image

Saiko is such an adorable cutie though, she was probably in so much pain in the new chapter (because we were told ROS is super painful) and yet she…

image
image

was just worrying about her maman. ;_;

Poor kiddo, I hope they’ll find a treatment soon. T_T

Here Anon, that’s from the newest chapter :

And by definition, ROS is a human’s disease so only humans should be affected.

I guess the Qs are also at risk (as we saw with Saiko and even if they’ve got a kakuhou), probably because their transformation is artificial and as such they don’t have the same highly developed abilities to regulate an oversecretion of RC cells, compared to ghouls whose kakuhou is natural. 🙂

Of course, nothing is certain so take everything with a grain of salt, but that’s how I understand it for now!

Have a nice day Anon!

Hi again 🙂

image

The “poison” is in those clone thingies. So if you kill ‘em and they explode…

image

it’s how the poison is released, goes airborn and humans can get affected once they breathe it in because it leads to an oversecretion of RC cells inside their body.

Keep in mind that both humans and ghouls have Rc cells initially, ghouls have just wayyy more than humans, which is why they developed a kakuhou to regulate their elevated rates.

From there on, there are several possibilities once you breathe the poison in:

  • for a ghoul: well, they have their kakuhou, so they should be able to regulate that oversecretion of Rc cells and be just fine
  • for a human: either they have the potential to develop a kakuhou (and thus they will become a ghoul) or they don’t, probably because they lack the gene or another unknown parameter that conditions the kakuhou’s development (and in that case, it’s ROS disease).

For Saiko and Urie, the difference is that they do have a kakuhou (because they’re Qs) but because it’s artificial (and for maybe other unknown reasons), it’s probably not as efficient as a ghoul’s when it comes to dealing with that oversecretion, which is why Saiko got in such a bad state.

As for Kaneki, I discussed it here. 🙂

We only saw one explosion when Kaneki was still inside his Kakuja and it was the one Saiko triggered and which got only her to be affected.

I hope it’s clearer? Of course, this explanation is based on what we were told so far, it can still change with future chapters so take it with a grain of salt, as always. Have a nice day Anon!

So does kaneki have all types of kagune now?

midnight-in-town:

Hello! And honestly Anon, Kaneki’s body is such a mystery right now that I can’t be sure of anything. xD However, I do admit that I have noticed a change in the general use of his kagune ever since he faced Eto in the Roze arc (which is when he got his first red hand).

So lately, I’ve been wondering if maybe that’s not what she meant about leaving him with some kind of gift, because look at this, during the Cochlea raid arc…

image

or the raid on the 24th ward arc…

image

And now…

image

So whether Kaneki now has different kakuhou types or not I can’t say at all, because it could just be that he’s using his rinkaku kakuhou to produce a kagune that’s looking a lot like other types. After all, Eto did explain that imagination played a crucial role for the kagune’s shape:

image

What I think however is that Kimi opening Kaneki up to look inside his body doesn’t have to imply that his whole transformation is only due to that nucleus Furuta gave him in ch144. Sure, that nucleus apparently made him “complete” (according to Kanou’s words), but I’d say his transformation started with the Roze arc and Eto’s “gift” because that’s when he got his first red hand:

image

TL;DR

  • does he still have just a rinkaku kakuhou but it’s his imagination that allows him to give his kagune a shape similar to other kakuhou types?
  • or does he now have all kakuhou types because he’s “complete” (and that’s what those new organs could be about)?

Both are possible but I really can’t say which one is more likely to be the correct answer right now. x)

Sorry that it can’t help so much, but please have a nice day Anon!

image

Hi 🙂 Sorry for not being so clear above, but the issue here is not him eating Eto’s kakuhou since we saw him do that, rather it’s whether or not Eto’s kakuhou contained something special (which I think it did, since she mentioned some kind of gift, but it’s not confirmed) and what kind of transformation it possibly led to.

Simply, personally I think eating Eto’s kakuhou led to him starting to use his kagune/kakuja differently (see the examples I gave above), but whether or not this (+ Furuta’s nucleus from ch144) led to him developing different kakuhou types, unfortunately we just don’t know for now. 🙂

Maybe he developed other kakuhou types than rinkaku, maybe not. His entire body looks like a kagune so it’s really impossible to say for now, you heard Kimi, even she doesn’t get it. x)

Take everything with a grain of salt where Kaneki is concerned Anon because for now he’s a mystery! Have a nice day. 🙂

Okay so

kingkishou:

midnight-in-town:

Some things appear to finally be explained

indeed

with this chapter, namely…

image
image

that Amon was most likely being experimented on in the CCG labs before he was brought back home by Seidou and Kurona in ch115, with Kanou’s team probably researching an equivalent to this using him:

image

That’s why Seidou experienced from up close the explosion part of Amon’s kakuja several times whenever he tried to stop him:

image

The question remains now as to why Seidou was okay: because Amon wasn’t complete and didn’t carry any “poison” that would trigger a ROS condition? Or because Seidou was in his kakuja form?

Or maybe because he’s special too and, just like Kaneki, resistant against the poison?

I wonder if the reason why Kaneki isn’t susceptible to the poison is because it’s (partially) his? Amon and Seidou both got their kakuhou from Yoshimura, so whatever poison Amon might carry may not be able to infect Seidou…

@kingkishou Yes exactly! I do wonder about if that factors as well because the whole thing is coming from the 4th ward and…

image

Kaneki’s kakuja (aka Rize’s kakuhou) definitely expanded until there + Furuta seemed unharmed and he’s got Rize’s kakuhou as well.

The thing is though, we have yet to see if ghouls are affected by the current crisis and so far ROS was presented to be a human’s disease only, simply because humans don’t have a kakuhou to regulate an elevated amount of RC cells.

And that’s exactly what I don’t really understand, because okay it looks like this airborne “poison” from the clone thingies is causing Rc cells to proliferate, but Qs like Saiko and Urie do have a kakuhou…

image

…it’s just that it’s coated in quinque steel. So why would they be affected? Maybe Saiko was poisoned despite being a Qs because she hasn’t broken through her F5 frame, but what about Urie?

Is it that the current crisis is leading to such an oversecretion that even living beings with a kakuhou (OEGs, ghouls and Qs) are at risk now? Or is it just that the Qs’ kakuhou being artificial is less efficient than ghouls’?

Anyway, that’s why I still think there might be more to Seidou not being affected by Amon’s kakuja back in ch114/115 than just sharing Yoshimura’s kakuhou…

image

because he was referred to as Kanou’s success like Kaneki and I really enjoy @coromoor‘s idea that, more than just sharing the same kakuhou, it’s possibly also about a good tolerance/usage of Rc cells by their bodies.

besides Seidou’s character arc is partially about wanting to become a hero so it would fit if he could help with what’s going on because he’s got innate resistance

TL;DR it could be a mix of both:

  • Kaneki isn’t affected because this poison (so to speak) could be partially coming from him (since it was either his kakuja or Rize’s and he’s got Rize’s kakuhou anyway)
  • but Kaneki is possibly also not affected because his body is able to regulate Rc cells overall better than most people
  • => same for Takizawa regarding ch115

hey but…

midnight-in-town:

image

You know, I think that the reason Kaneki is still apparently okay despite everything he has gone through is possibly for the same reason the ghoulification operation with Rize at the very beginning went so well.

After all, Kanou had never any real idea as to why Kaneki grew up to be “such a splendid specimen” when initially he was just supposed to be a preliminary test to the Yasuhisa twins…

image

…and he never was able to reproduce the same perfect result. So maybe there is something there, even if I don’t know what.

Also I’m thinking that if Kaneki is truly so damn resilient after everything he went through, maybe that’s something he genetically passed onto his kiddo in Touka’s belly. ♪(゚▽^*)ノ⌒☆

image

Someone explains Kaneki’s body to me and the rest of the TG universe sometimes soon because I’m inherently screaming very loudly.

kingkishou:

so here’s a thing:

  • Aogiri trees are also known as Chinese Parasol trees
  • which are famous in mythology as the perch of phoenixes

  • Phoenixes die by bursting into flame, born anew from the ashes
  • Kaneki has been “born again” multiple times, mainly via self-destruction
  • his former kakuja masks have been beaked; his most recent form almost there, as another bird deity, Abraxas.
  • his kagune as “King” looks like the tails of a pheonix, the mouths like “eyes” (like on peacock feathers), clawed limbs and all

so now my question is, with all the yin-yang references between Kaneki and Touka (”wings bestowed” followed Arima’s death) and/or Kaneki and Amon (the phoenix’s dragon counterpart), will he represent a phoenix on his own,

or will he have an ukaku-type like the two aforementioned to work in tandem with him?

Hello! I was thinking, did Yana ever write on Lizzy’s parents?

akumadeenglish:

akumadeenglish:

Hi!

No, Yana never really wrote anything about Lizzy’s parents on her blog (afaik), but in
an interview in the official Character Guide she said (p.143):

—エリザベスはお母さんのことをどう思っていますか?
厳しいけれど、かっこよくて優しいお母さんだと思っていますね。自分もそうなりたいと憧れていて、理想の母親だと思っています。

—What does Elizabeth think of her mother?
She thinks that she’s a cool and kind mother, even though she’s strict. She looks up to her and wants to become like her. [For Elizabeth], she’s the ideal mother.

How to become like your role model

Step 1: Imitate your role model’s hair style.
