ABOUT THE NORO SCENE FROM TG:RE 51

kenkamishiro:

Either Imperial Scans didn’t receive the full raw scan of that scene, or there’s something wrong with how their website is displaying the image. But either way this is what the actual scene with Noro’s kagune attacking the Quinx and Itou squads look like (taken from the baidu scans):

So now it’s a lot clearer who’s being attacked by Noro.

Michibata’s still a goner, Bujin may or may not have lost his left hand (that is not how you should follow your father’s footsteps), Urie got impaled, Shirazu actually dodged (you never fail to impress me), and Mutsuki is…I don’t even know, but it’s not good.

Interesting information from the Japanese fandom

regarding the mysterious new character, Mr. Bravat/ Brabat/ Blavat/ Blabat/ Vlavat/ whatever (His name is written ブラバット in Japanese and there are many possible spellings for it).

Some people have made speculations as to where his strange name might derive from, and here’s another possibility that was brought up in the Japanese fandom! =D

Given the official title of this new arc (”The Blue Sect”), we can assume that this time it’s going to be about religions, sects and things like that. Matching to this theme, there’s an actual occultist by the name of Helena Blavatsky who lived in the 19th century and co-founded the Theosophical Society in New York in 1875. She moved to London in 1887 (note: it’s 1889 in Kuro-verse) and at this stage she already had a lot of followers all over the world. Also, it’s interesting to note that one of the aims of the Society was “To form a nucleus of the universal brotherhood of humanity without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste, or colour.” which actually matches with the idea of ‘classless’ parties at the music hall.

The main article about Theosophy seems quite interesting but it’s too complicated and I’m too lazy to read through it Someone please sum it up for me

Anyway, it might be a bit far-fetched but considering their similar names and historical backgrounds I think there’s a slight possibility that the Blue Sect, who is probably hosting those parties, is modeled after Blavatsky’s Theosophical Society. =D

BTW, did anyone buy the yen press digital version of ch 109? How is his name spelt there??

Edit:

thedemonssidekick said: It is “Bravat” in the official version.

Thank you! =D

Click for some personal interpretation and just a little thought in general. As you can see, a character could stay in more than one category and honestly, one of the many beautiful things of the story is the complexity of the characters, that are so real and well written.
