Vin’s romance arc in Mistborn: The Final Empire is basically Cinderella, except instead of losing a shoe she lost her whole dress, instead of fleeing the ball at midnight she fled after fighting a bunch of assassins come to kill her Prince Charming, and instead of a fairy godmother she had Kelsier
We thought talking to ourselves is weird and then there’s kaneki having his own personality disorder convention in his mind whilst everything is fucking up outside.
In light of the recent chapter, I find it ironic that Real!Ciel is dependent on our!Ciel but independent in terms of identity, while our!Ciel is dependent on his brother’s identity but independent in the sense that he doesn’t obsess over someone.
me, an intellectual: paula has been for lizzy every fucking time she cried for prick ciel and not really ciel phantomhive, has sebastian comforted a teenage girl crying? i don’t think so
Ahh but they believe Furuta won’t live long, and probably think they have the upper hand in the situation. They might’ve made some kind of deal with him, and for the time-being are just using his adroitness to get shit done for their own agenda.
I doubt Furuta is really working in their favor, though. He wanted to keep his new kagune a secret from them, so he’s most likely banking on their obliviousness for some good ol’ double-crossing later on.
I don’t think Matsuri is a threat to Furuta either, but was standing in the way of V’s plans to wipe out the Washuu clan from their network. He may not have been a threat to Furuta’s ever-climbing status, but more importantly he knows too much. Matsuri actually has the potential to be a massive fucking threat, especially if he managed to escape from that fight with Kaiko.
apollo instinctively cleans whenever he sees a mess because he’s the only one who cleans the WAA office

athena later got very offended at being called “spider hair”
Well, personally, I think you can consider it a ship moment if you like the pairing (like myself) but I believe that the scene has an entirely different purpose.
Seidou and Akira are characters that have always been connected. When Akira was first introduced back in TG, we were immediately hinted about their past by Seidou’s reaction and Shinohara’s words so we were all aware that these two have a long history behind them. And that ended up being true.
Their rivalry was brought up in every interaction that we’ve seen between them and most importanly, with every interaction it became even more apparent that they really do care about each other despite never saying it outloud.
So the whole meaning of that scene is that Seidou and Akira who have “only looked at each other from the side” until now are finally looking
The two of them are some of the main characters and the relationship they’ve had since the Academy has always been an important part in their lives so Ishida is finally resolving one big plot line. I mean, considering how big their roles are and the fact that it was always obvious they did care for each other, it was expected that Sensei would adress this at some point.
It’s frustrating, really! I understand you and I also feel the same because Takizawa is a character I’ve loved ever since he appeared in TG. I don’t want him to die! :’’’’(
But let’s look from Akira and Houji’s point of view: both of them also love Takizawa and both of them want to save him but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s killed a lot of investigators and did many things against the CCG.
It’s a very complicated situation because for them it’s basically: their job as investigators (exterminating ghouls that are a threat for the lives of humans) VS. their personal feelings for Takizawa (Akira considers him a dear friend and was devastated when she thought he died while, on the other hand, Houji admires him as his student).
I just read the chapter and to be honest, I still don’t know what to think either. But it’s hard
‒
or pretty much impossible
‒
to determine who’s wrong and who’s right here. Akira and Houji are doing this because of their responsibilities as investigators but I’m sure in their hearts, they don’t really want to do it because they do care about Seidou. And poor Seidou… he doesn’t realize this and thinks they really do hate him.
I don’t know, anon, I don’t know. All I can say is that the whole situation is very sad because Akira and Houji chose to do something they don’t want to and the decision probably hurt them a lot; and Seidou feels like he’s been betrayed by the people he wanted to protect. It’s sad, so sad. *cries forever*
I’ve said it before, but I think another factor is in what Akira said to him.
They didn’t want him to be culled.
Houji and Akira know what the CCG does to ghouls. They know ghouls in Cochlea are tortured, experimented on, and used for Quinque materials. They know there’s already a planned Purge, as Aogiri-associated ghouls are no longer useful.
Takizawa’s only value to the organization, because of his power and past killings, is as a test subject. Something to chop up, and study, and use for Quinques.
The CCG has ordered Owl terminated. There is no happy “Haise” option for him, because the Washuus will not permit it. Akira and Houji know Takizawa isn’t going to be given a chance. So now their choices are try to put him down as quickly and painlessly as possible……or leave him to potentionally be hurt and violated even more.
It will hopefully make Akira think twice, realizing the horrors the CCG commits now that it’s aimed at people she loves.
I know this is a long post and I wanted to put it under a “Read More” but that isn’t working for whatever reason -__-
I know I mentioned that ACWNR seemed to be coming full circle in the recent chapter, but there is something in particular that I wanted to talk about, and that is what Levi may be feeling by the end of chapter 83 because of his past. In no way am I stating that Levi will save any certain character with the serum at any point in this post. That isn’t what this post is about. I just want to go over why the decision may not be as simple as some people believe it should be.
The look in Levi’s eyes here:
The way Levi looks at Mikasa in this panel is heartbreaking for me because I honestly believe that in this moment, Levi is getting a glimpse at the pain and desperation in her heart. The same pain and desperation he felt in his heart when he watched his closest friends die because he couldn’t get to them in time.
Levi knows exactly how Mikasa feels in this moment and he most likely fully understands why she would be willing to attack him for the sake of having a chance at saving her friend. Her actions at this point are out of desperation and a plethora of emotions. Hurt, shock, and an extreme need to protect the only family she has left. Much like how Levi felt… Only in Levi’s case; he was already too late to save his family.
Knowing that he was too late still didn’t stop him from behaving violently though, and it didn’t stop him from confronting the one he felt was responsible for the death of his family. The person he believed to be the reason for their demise.
Much like how Eren and Mikasa react to Levi’s stance on not continuing through with saving Armin. Because to them, it feels like a betrayal. Which I imagine, is a lot like how Levi felt back when Isabel and Farlan died. Played for the sake of a game they had no idea they were even pawns in, and it was a game they had no chance of winning from the get go. It obviously hurt Levi deeply, and now he is witnessing the kids in his squad experience that same feeling towards him.
I know everyone wants to hate on Levi right now, but imagine the position this man is in. Being put on the spot to either save the man who he honestly believes is humanities only chance at victory because he was proven to be willing to sacrifice anything for the sake of freedom; himself included.
Or the genius kid in his squad with a family that loves him just as deeply as he loved his friends. Friends that he most likely – to this day – still wishes he could have saved.
Levi is in a very tough spot and this choice will not be an easy one for him. Especially after seeing the pain his choice could cause and the desperation he once felt himself on the face of someone else. No one knows who he will choose, but neither choice will be the right one and I think Levi know’s this.
After all this time, he will finally have to make a very important decision and accept the fact that no matter what, some small part of him will always regret his choice. He will carry that guilt and the weight of that person’s life with him for the rest of his days.
He might also have to deal with his squad, kids he smiled at because they stood by him, may very well hate him forever because of his decision. Or he might have to deal with humanities damnation because he let the one man willing to carve a path to victory in blood and climb a mountain of corpses towards freedom die in order to give his dear subordinates the option he never had.
But either way,
This is the face of a man who knows that he will feel guilty no matter who he chooses. Because in the end, he is keenly aware of the pain his subordinates feel, and he is also aware of the importance Erwin hold as a Commander and as his friend.
No matter who he chooses; he isn’t entirely wrong, but he isn’t entirely right either, and that is a very shitty place to be in.
So, is this just another thing that everyone knew except Kaneki.
Yoshimura knew, Yomo probably knew bc of Yoshimura, Itori and probably the other clowns knew, Eto knew, Noro and Tatara knew, Kanou knew, Rize knew, Arima knew.
