Please only answer if you want to! Do you think Yana’s tweet about the new chapter could have to do with UT finally saying something about not wanting to lose more Phantomhives? It was briefly addressed in the story before, like in ch105 but never that straightforwardly, I think? Thank you for your time :3

akumadeenglish:

Mmm, I’m still puzzled by Yana’s tweet tbh!

Either that or she’s referring to UT’s confession that he was the one who retrieved RC’s body (and thus must also be the the person who revived him) since imo that was the biggest revelation in this chapter.

I mean, there were a lot of foreshadowing that UT must be somehow involved in RC’s resurrection (ch108, ch109, ch120, tokuten illustration, etc), so maybe Yana was like “I dropped lots of hints so I assume some people already saw this plot twist coming, but yeah anyway, here it is! Finally, he (UT) admitted that he was the one who’s responsible for RC’s return!”. But honestly, idk ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’ll just wait until tomorrow and then check other Japanese fans’ reviews of this chapter. Maybe they’ll come up with a more plausible interpretation of Yana’s latest tweet than mine^^;

Yana’s comment on ch136

akumadeenglish:

Kuroshitsuji chapter 136 will be something like… *“It was when [he] got entangled with some bad guys that a black luxury car

with smoked-glass windows

passed by. The driver who came out of that car was a mafia member and he proposed ‘conditions’ for a settlement… ”
[With this chapter] one of the turning points has been eventually reached. Please read it. – Toboso

*Note1:
Yana described OC’s situation in this chapter in a comical way

using a very famous & stupid Japanese internet meme which I refuse to explain because reasons.

*Note2: Without the knowledge of that meme though, it might be a bit hard to get the picture, so here are some explanations:

  • ‘he’ = OC
  • ‘bad guys’ = cultists
  • ‘mafia member’ (actually ‘yakuza’) = Sebastian
  • ‘black luxury car

    with smoked-glass windows’

    = typical mafia car

  • ‘The driver who came out of that car was a mafia member and he proposed ‘conditions’ for a settlement…’ = meme

Yana is basically saying that it may seem like Sebastian saved OC in a very precarious situation, but in reality, OC wasn’t “saved” but he just found himself in yet another big trouble because, after all, the one who “passed by in his black luxury car” was neither a hero nor a saviour, but yet another evil person (a yakuza) who takes advantage of OC’s situation and demands an unreasonably high price for a private settlement (which is what yakuza usually do).

ch 148

randomthoughtpatterns:

While everyone was debating about Hide, I completely missed Ogura having a “personal interest” in Kanou and being all “it does me no credit, but I snooped around for info on him and his life”, which, coupled with Ogura’s open admiration of Kanou back at uni makes one think. (Specifically it makes one think someone had a school crush).

Surprisingly, Amon’s words to Hide about the impeccable timing of his return weren’t sarcastic as I’d assumed. Figures. Amon probably doesn’t know what sarcasm is. Meanwhile Hide knows what sarcasm is, and his phrase sounds more like, “Aw, ‘cause I looove him!” (he’s saying that in an intentionally cutesy/girlish/childish way, which doesn’t diminish the sentiment… but doesn’t sound like a serious confession either. I’m back to thinking that was a deflection. Not necessarily untrue… but not the reason Amon asked for).

For the anon who asked if Itori said anything interesting: “we’ll pretend to be Clowns, as usual” may also be read as “we’ll act the fool, as usual”. I totally read her saying “you’ve become more ladylike” as a dig at Touka being pregnant, since “becoming” in that context implies doing something, and Touka is still a tomboy, so the only traditionally feminine thing she’s done is get married and pregnant.

re:quest [tension] – chapter 4

kenkamishiro:

I don’t even know how it took me this long to do chapter 4 (please don’t ask). Unfortunately the last chapter will definitely take a while since I’ll be starting school soon, but I’ll definitely finish it at some point.

For those who haven’t read “tension”, the short story about the CCG art festival, you can read chapter 1 here. Enjoy!

(Thank you @tokyo-ghoul-out-of-context for proofreading.)

“Huh?” Koori-senpai, what are you doing?”

When Hairu had showed up to work at the S1 squad’s task room, she had found Ui cutting up photographs with a pair of scissors. “Do you have a grudge against those people in the photos or something?”

“Of course not.” Ui said, glaring at his hand. Hairu shrugged and sat down in her seat to escape from his line of sight.

When Ui finished cutting up the photo he had been holding, he began to clean up. Hairu rose from her chair and looked at him again. “Are you making a scrapbook then?”

Isayama-Sensei’s Face-to-Face Interview with Questions from Mingeki!

– We collected questions from online fans from the official fan website, Mingeki. The first question is, “Even though very brutal battles continue on, for our characters, what places and moments calm them?”

Isayama: While in the Survey Corps, they constantly pace back and forth, but there aren’t many personal items in their rooms. Therefore, what calms them are probably the times and places they experienced together with their comrades. Basically, locations that are familiar to them. In tankobon volume one, there was actually a scene where some characters were setting up cannons together on top the walls,

but not many opportunities like that existed. Even if you were able to keep calm while standing alone on the wall, that kind of unusual circumstance [in volume one] is even more calming. A soldier should not waste resources, after all. [T/N: Not certain what Isayama means by this last sentence, but it may have something to do with Sasha stealing meat?]

– Ah, so it’s like that. It’s true that even during off times, everyone is asked to maintain their military instincts. The next question is, “Please tell us about how the soldiers spend one of their days.”

Isayama: When the Survey Corps aren’t on an expedition, they will train for the next one – whether it’s practicing for extended journeys or servicing their weaponry. Depending on the person, there might be many meetings that they have to join. When training concludes, sometimes they could receive the privilege to visit their home.

damn u vincent

qtpaps:

Is it just me or chapter 131 literally gives off the vibe that Vincent doesn’t care as much for OC than he does for RC and shows obvious favoritism. I know RC will inherit his position but c’mon, OC’s still his kid. Heck even Tanaka’s a much better guardian for the kid than him.

And this:

image

“You will be of assistance to him in my stead…” What about your other son? You know, the one hiding behind the curtain in front of you. Vincent didn’t even call for OC to come and join them. :c

Then…

I was hoping that Vincent would at least say something in oc’s stead like how he did for rc (”He’s frightened because you always look angry”) but nah, he smiled and just waved it off, disregarding oc’s future being the second son (who cares about him when you have a healthier, cheekier, more confident elder son)

*sigh* I’m just rambling, but seriously I dislike Vincent in this chapter and his attitude towards his younger son (at least give both of them equal affections, pretty boy.)

oh no that must be some translations mistake.

I get this from @sebcansuccit thanks for her scans! so here’s what actually Vincent said:

「もし私に何があっても、きっとお前たちの力になってくれる」

Should anything happen to me I’m sure you will protect them”

he said it in plural way, and it basically implied that Diederich should be able to be their assistance & protecting them so I’m really sure Vincent never sounds he really offer more older brother and didn’t sounds like he ignore OC’s existence too. Which is why it also concludes to Diederich harsh remarks of OC to be able in need live independent and man up.

Tokyo Ghoul Liveaction

makyun:

To everyone who sent an ask on how/where I got to watch the movie, I watched it today via a local cinema theater here in Japan. o/ I don’t think there’s a copy available online as of the moment but please do look forward to the BD/DVD release. o/

The movie in general reaches all the way until the end of Hinami arc (Kureo and Ryouko’s death). No mention of Gourmet arc. No implications of a sequel.

This post will contain spoilers from the movie.

There are two points that I would like to start with:

  1. The movie is meant to be watched more than once.
  2. The content of the movie is pretty loyal to the manga save for a number of things.
