Excuse me but I love how we see Kaneki using his kagune as if it were the ukaku type, following Touka-chan’s style, precisely as it’s written “we still wish to be beautiful”.
I find it really parallels well this scene…
…as well as its own little outcome years after:
It’s making me so emotional, I’m so happy and proud of how Sensei managed to convey so much in this chapter… ❤
though their coordination, initially, leaves just a little to be desired. kaneki brings the blanket to where touka sleeps, and touka spreads it out on her cot and motions that he sit beside her, and they exchange a shy but heated glance before he swallows and hitches off his shirt.
it drops aside. touka sets her hand on kaneki’s arm, on his bicep that immediately prickles up with goosebumps. she brushes her fingers gently lower, to the knitted, plated flesh that makes up his lower arm, and under her carress the dark red cells quiver and for an instant his fingers shiver and grip into a melty fist.
After all, there is no way ch125, which happened just after they had such a long meaningful talk in ch122, was going to be their only time. xD Also, just seeing them getting married twice in ch131 and ch132 and how moved they both were, you can be sure that there were intense moments after what we witnessed. It’s not the first time that always matters.
In other words, Kaneki and Touka did the do plenty of times and not just on ch125 and that conception date after March 23th xDDD
Lol, have a nice day Anon, I’m glad if my previous post helped with some people’s doubts. xDD
Hi Anon! Conclusion before the explanation but basically no, I don’t think that ch125 was the time Touka became pregnant. xD
Here’s the thing, the Clowns’ arc took place on February 9th:
and then approximately a month passed until ch122 happened, which is when Kaneki and Touka talked but also when they had to go into hiding because of the Oggai. They decided…
to all meet again, probably to depart to the 24th ward, on March 13th. So ch125, which happened on the same evening as ch122, happened before March 13th.
Now, considering Touka’s delivery date by her own calculations…
and the fact that at the time of ch130 we were in mid-April, you can do the maths and you’ll see that Touka is in her first month of pregnancy, which makes the baby’s conception date during the las days of March/first week of April (unless a ghoul pregnancy doesn’t last 9 months of course).
Yeah! In addition to those two instances, there was also ch 125 where he dropped the ‘-chan’ honorific… although I guess he was a bit preoccupied there
I don’t think it was a mistake or Ishida trying to foreshadow anything in particular, but rather a progression of Kaneki and Touka’s relationship that was bound to happen sooner or later. Generally, couples refer to each other by just their first name alone because it’s more intimate. Except for these 2 giant idiots of course 😂😂😂
Kaneki still uses the ‘-chan’ honorific with Touka. Touka still calls him by his last name.
It reminds me of this shoujo j-drama I’ve watched. The main couple have known each other for years from high school and when they eventually get married, the girl still calls her husband “LastName-kun” out of years of habit and because she’s too embarrassed to say his first name.
It’s Touka and Kaneki’s first relationship so they’re both still finding their feet in all this, and with Touka getting flustered all the time over intimacy she would definitely be embarrassed saying ‘Ken’. To me, Kaneki’s little ‘Toukachan’ is super endearing so I would actually be sad to see it go completely, but Touka calling him ‘Ken’ for the first time is sure to be a big cheesy cute moment and I can’t wait 😈
Idk I mean Anon, to quote Mr. d’Ormesson, a French novelist who died very recently, it is my belief that “rien n’est plus proche de l’absolu qu’un amour en train de naître” and I’m sure even the Clowns would agree!
Spiritual over physical, you know? Orgasm hardly ever lasts in time compared to when there are feelings involved. Besides, be it in fiction or IRL I haven’t seen a lot of dudes proposing to a girl
or becoming a literal monster for her sake
simply because she was his first time. xD
That’s why “nothing is closer to absolute than love being born” and Kaneki and Touka are probably going to keep on constantly proving it to us until TG ends, even if they still need to work on slight personal and relationship issues. Yep.
So here hon’:
Enjoy the blossoming love between two characters who were meant to be together for a long time! 😀 And have a nice day!
Aww Anon, please be a little sympathetic. Obviously the whole concept of anon hate is to send it to someone who likes the stuff Anon is hating on, otherwise what’s the point? xD
More seriously though, I don’t mind people not liking the romance between Kaneki and Touka, their relationship isn’t perfect and to each their own, but there is “not liking it” and “using completely non-existing arguments to prove a hateful point”, which is what Anon was doing.
You cannot try to argue that Kaneki loves Touka just because of ch125, for the simple reason that many of us were shipping them for a long time before that chapter. There are tons of arguments that anyone can use to say that their love for each other doesn’t come out of nowhere simply because Kaneki is not a virgin anymore.
So my problem with the previous ask is in this aspect, not in Anon disliking their relationship. Again, Kaneki and Touka aren’t perfect, be it as characters or as a couple, and for that I can understand people not having to be fond of their relationship or respective characters, but don’t they try justifying it by “Kaneki’s dick liked Touka’s vagina so he fell in love” and even less so by making it a fictional generality.
There is a good debate or a good argument and then there is bullshit, and I don’t like the latter.
Thanks for passing by and have a nice day Anon. 🙂
Aww, thanks Anon! The quote didn’t come from me though, if that’s what you were referring to. :3
I wish I had a brilliant way with words but honestly I don’t, I just have feels. Thanks anyway. ^3^
In the last chapters Touka seems to always be wearing the same white T-shirt, however, depending on the time and situation, Ishida decides to emphasize the forms that are include on the top:
In chapter 122 Touka wants to have time alone to talk with Kaneki, therefore the shirt that she wears consists of shapes similar to those of an hourglass
Hourglasses
are often used to symbolize “ time”, even at windows computers one can set the mouse so that the waiting icon takes that form.
In chapter 125 Touka wears the same t-shirt but with Y forms at the top, this could be linked to the chapter title “X:”
In genetic, the masculine gender consists of XY chromosomes, this could be indicating two things to us: first that probably the son was conceived that night (good job Kaneki), and second that probably the child will be a boy.
In chapter 135 Touka wears the same T-shirt with four-leaf clover shapes at the top
As i explained in an earlier post, the four leaf clovers are representative of good fortune and hope, indicating a possible positive result to the conflict that is happening right now.
Although one might think that the forms on that T-shirt are due to the artistic style of Ishida, in my opinion and based on the approach that he puts while drawing them, makes me think that not only aren’t for chance, but that they intend to launch a concrete message depending on the situation and the moment.
ok anon…..i went back and finished it up. :’) though i think maybe it doesn’t have too much of the “reverent” feel i was initially thinking i’d do, haha. thank you for your encouragement, i hope you enjoy it!
to everyone: this is another take on touken “morning after” tg:re:125, lol. have a good day ahead!
He wakes up. Not abruptly — but slow — through a morning-colored haze. Even then he isn’t sure really that he’s awake, because Touka is there, with bare shoulder blades, and the soft long dip down the center of her back, and a sliver of nape she is gently rubbing her fingers against as she combs through her hair.
For a moment, just like him, she doesn’t know that he’s awake. She looks out the window, thinking things that he can’t imagine and wants, suddenly, to know. He gazed at her sometimes over the top of his books at the cafe but this is the first time that he’s watched her this intimately, seen her this close, and he can only barely believe it. All at once, from one day to the next, he went from suppressing thoughts of her skin to knowing exactly the way it feels and tastes and trembles.
The fact that chapter 125 was hand written is absolute proof that this chapter was so important for Ishida to write. He really has been anticipating this for over 5 years now hasn’t he…
Everyone should send him some love for being such a hard worker…
