Omg! Your mother watching SnK is so cute! She is wonderful! Also, I liked the last chapter very much! There is a lot of tension building up, but at the same time I felt a coerency in the themes of the story so far which I was worried we may have lost with the time-skip: in the end Eren is still called the one who is fighting for freedom against a false peace exactly like in ch. 1. I have the feeling the 2 sides will fight to size control of the « play ». Imo there’ll be a final fight on Paradis.

Hi! Yeah, it was so unexpected that she would like it as much as she did, even though I knew she would enjoy it. 🙂 But she’s so cute indeed, she has the craziest theories even though she’s barely finished s1. xD

Anyway, about the newest chapter: it makes sense to me that in the end Eren is the one who’s fighting for freedom even if he has to be presented as a peace-ruiner, I mean…

it fitted him from day one. And since he’s got the coordinate power, I do agree that the goal of this staged play (probably an alliance made of Willy + Magath + Kiyomi + maybe Eren and Zeke) is to get support for an all-out attack on Paradis Island, where we have a lot of huge titans resting in the walls and waiting for Eren’s signal.

Besides, I really doubt that Armin and Mikasa are on the continent (Mikasa because of ch1 and Armin because a titan had to stay to protect the Island just in case), which makes it obvious that we’re going back to Paradis for the final battle, to Reiner’s dismay most likely.

Now that Willy revealed the truth, the ambassadors from other countries will supposedly be able to convey that Eldians aren’t the problem but that the island, led by Eren Jaeger is, hence the all-out attack on Paradis where Armin, Annie, Ackermans, the Survey corps and wall titans are waiting.

As for the Ackerman family, I’m pretty sure a very large part of the fandom (and ex-fans of SnK who are sometimes still lurking around) is waiting for the explanation to the mystery around them. We have the beginning of an answer though…

which is a lot compared to before.

They’re the ace cards though, since even Zeke doesn’t like them, which is definitely why we still don’t know the entire truth about titans and “byproducts of titan science”.

Anyway, thanks for passing by Anon 🙂 Have a nice day!

hello, I wanna know why are they calling Eren a rebel? thank you:(

kyojinofbraveos:

Well, Eren has a rebel soul since the very beginning of the manga. We saw him rebelling to the peaceful life Walldians are living by calling them cattles. After learning about what First King wanted, he was right about it. I am gonna quote Levi here.

Chapter 25.

He never happily nodded and done what was told to him. At his own court, he shouted at judges to leave Mikasa out of this and entrust everything to him so that he can fight. He has been represented to us, reader, as a little child that hates to be caged behind walls and dreams of being fully free. I think that’s quite of a rebel spirit.

But his rebel side also causes him a lot of trouble as a soldier. He tried his best to be as obedient as he can, but he does have that side and it’s hard for one person to change suddenly when they decide. our most famous example here is syringebowl. It was humanly selfish yet understandable why he rebelled against the orders of his own squad captain, yet a rebellion is a rebellion and they got punished for it. He also kept the fact that Historia inheriting a Titan would help him using coordinate, all these moves are showing that he’s walking towards the way to rebel Survey Corps if they ask something he’s not so comfortable doing.

And now, we have this.

Chapter 99.

After finding out that Eren is indeed Amputee-kun, my first thought was that he has probably left Survey Corps and gone on a man-alone mission. To do what is still unknown, but I am pretty sure infamous EMA seperation happened and now Eren is working with Ymir knows who. So I didn’t gasp when Villi said the rebel’s name is Eren Jaeger. We’ve read 90 chapters about characters raising their voices, rebelling to government, making a coup or going against the fate that was written long before they have been born. This is also Eren’s spirit spreading like a fire.

Isayama once mentioned Eren as the slave of story; so no matter how hard he tries to rebel against his fate, since he is the main character of the story, he can’t run away from what the writer has planned for him which makes me wonder what is that.

But I love Eren being that way a lot. I love him carrying the title of the series, Shingeki no Kyojin, this well. It gives this story an excitement and a movement not many main characters I have seen are capable of, which makes him so enjoyable in my opinion.

And just look at his new look, it looks like he has hit his hard metal phase. Give him a darker eyeliner, chains, those nailed wristbands and boots and you have yourself a dark metal soul that screams fuck you world. 15 year old short haired Eren was much prettier but this AmputeEren fits him so well it’s almost satisfying.

Hope this will clarify things! Thank you for the ask.

What do you make of older Eren so far?

momtaku:

I’m into it.

I’m excited.

I’m scared.

I’m… optimistic?

Eren was icy-cold and terrifying in chapter 99. Combined with his treatment of his grandfather last month, a portion of the fandom believes this is proof positive that Eren has gone from turbulent teen to full-fledged adult psychopath.

Unless they want a good laugh or their day ruined, those people should probably stop reading this post. I’ve always held a kinder view of Eren and the story as a whole.

Reading this chapter, I don’t think Eren is lacking goodness. He saw Reiner losing control and descending into madness and reminded Reiner that his motivations were good.

I think Reiner had forgotten that somewhere along the way. These were words I’ve been desperately wanting Reiner to hear. If Eren is sincerely voicing them, I am appreciative. My hope is they help relieve some of the guilt Reiner’s been feeling.

The story of the hanged man that started this chapter is relevant. Annie thought he told them his story because he wanted forgiveness. Bert thought it was because he wanted someone to judge him.

Now Reiner is standing before Eren vulnerable and exposed.

Eren likely cannot forgive the man who killed his mother and destroyed his world. But knowing all the facts, he can judge him. If that judgement includes factoring in Reiner’s childhood ignorance and his motivations,  that judgment will not be total damnation.

I could be wrong. This could be a huge mind game. Eren might be softening the blow and attempting to build some common ground before he goes for the kill. But I really hope not.

Thanks for the ask.

I know people have been worried about falco cause ya know eren has been lying to him, but i was reading the unofficial translation and when falco goes to leave eren tells him to stay. to me i think maybe eren knows shit is about to go down outside with the play and he wants falco safe. i know he lied to falco, but i think he cares about him and doesnt want him hurt. thoughts?

DISCLAIMER: This is my personal opinion. In no way am I stating what I say here is canon or completely accurate. if you disagree with my opinion, that’s perfectly fine! Everyone has a different interpretation, but if you are going to send me messages trying to argue points of view with me or send me hate messages; please do us both a favor and just don’t even bother with it.

I’m inclined to agree with you. I don’t think Eren wants to see Falco harmed by his own hand or anyone else’s. Mainly for this reason:

Eren obviously used Falco but, I don’t think his intention was ever to hurt him. So keeping him there in the basement while the show goes on above, especially considering Eren seemed to know what was going to be said, makes me think he’s either protecting him or wanting to see how he’ll react to something he personally has planned.

Bear in mind that Falco told Eren he wished to be the inheritor of the Armored Titan, and now he’s stuck in a room with the man whom he’s trying to replace, and the potential enemy he’d have while trying to walk in those shoes. It’s an interesting circumstance Isayama has depicted here. I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen but, I doubt Eren kept Falco there out of malice.

snkception:

Well, well, well, there were definitely things to enjoy about this month’s chapter.

(Not that, y’know, there weren’t things to enjoy in the last two, which I haven’t commented on in any fashion. I have no idea where time goes. I blink, and it’s next chapter time already. Uncanny.)

Anyway, Eren! This very calm, in-control dude is a far cry from the temperamental teenager he’d once been. And, man, Eren got cold in the intervening years. Like, how chillingly amazing was this part:

“Sit down, Reiner.”

So good! And this is some brutal bargaining. How much is it Eren bluffing? Maybe all of it! But looking at him from the outside, we can’t be sure, and of course we’re seeing what Reiner sees. Except Reiner is also seeing his worst nightmares come walking into his life, having acquired extra bite and flavour.

His face! His many faces! All of his faces are, very justifiably, this face:

Poor Falco is increasingly getting the feeling that this is Way Above His Paygrade, but sadly there’s no parkouring out of this awkward situation. Soon he’ll be making exquisite faces of his own. It’s an educational night for everybody, including us.

At last, we get proper facts about what happened 100 years ago. Facts that match what we already know, and plug some gaps where we weren’t sure (ie, what was the whole deal with the great titan war). And, man. That was a nice callback:

I’ve always wondered what Uri meant when he said this:

So this was it. This is what Uri and Frieda’s stares into the distance meant. In their mind’s eye, they saw the king whose spirit they carried turning on his own empire, and they knew one day Marley would come knocking down the walls keeping them safe.

Presumably, when RBA destroyed Wall Maria, Frieda thought the day of reckoning had come. She wasn’t going to do anything but accept the destruction of her world.

Not so Grisha Yaeger. Not so Eren Yaeger, either, though he’s walked a much different path. And here was another fantastic, punchy frame:

“Someone has come to rise against King Fritz’s peaceful world.”

What a way to sum up the first 70-odd chapters of this story! We’ve watched our heroes bravely fight their way forward, plot and scheme and despair, uncover the great conspiracy that their country was, win against the overwhelming power of the oppressive government… and this is how history might remember it: a rebellion which did away with the peace.

The best thing is, it’s true from a certain point of view. The kings of the walls, powered by the founding titan, indeed posed no threat to the outside world. While our intrepid heroes–

Obviously, Willy Tybur is twisting the truth. Eren and co are fighting because they know Marley is coming for them, and Marley is coming for them. They’re reacting to the cycle of war, not casting the first stone; the only thing Willy could really fault them with is the refusal to lay down and die to make Marley’s life more comfortable. Willy is still lying, but he’s doing it beautifully, so kudos to him.

Meanwhile, Eren will be in your Marley, fighting… for his own freedom, and for the freedom of the Eldians he represents.

Guys. Brace yourselves. The Red Wedding drama is coming. You are currently watching

Dun dun dun-dun-dun-dun-dun dun dun dun-dun-dun-dun-dun dun dun dun-dun-dun-dun-dun

My instincts (why instincts again EEEEKKKK!!!???) tell me a group of pure titans are going to wreck the Tybur Festival.

As mentioned in my old post before, Willy is probably plotting something so the rest of the world will agree to join Marley to crush Paradis.

Willy is so sweaty in the newest chapter

image

and his hands are so shaky in the last chapter

image

What is the thing Willy worries about? Because he’s lying to the others? Because he’s going to sacrifice a lot of lives in order to save people living in Marley?

Was he revealing the truth on the stage?

Time to re-read chapter 59

image

History is written by victors of the war.

I can tell Willy is not revealing the whole truth, but a manipulated version of it.

And move to next point—

Is Eren on a mission alone in Marley, or fully supported by the Survey Corps who also infiltrated in Marley?

Do the Paradis casts disguised themselves on the Festival? Who are those Marleyan soldiers who is the Rope-kun trapping Porco and Pieck who is that Helos on stage who are those people—

image

But wait.

What if Isayama is trolling us again?

Don’t get me wrong, I’d sell my soul to see the Paradis cast again, yet I don’t want to believe they are on a mission which involves transforming Eldians or using the great titan powers (Attack, Colossal and Female?) to destroy their own kind (Subjects of Ymir) and other races of the world.

Won’t it make the whole world hates Paradis and the Eldians more?

Nah. I won’t believe the Paradis people are going to turn Liberio into a pile of ruins.

image

But someone will. Here is a dark horse:

image

Theo Magath. THE HAND OF THE KING

He has a to-be-removed-from-the-old-house list.

Marley needs to be re-structured, perhaps something like removing the incompetent military.

Ahhhhh there they are.

It might be Magath and Willy’s plan to “removed the weeds”.

Plus, I’ve just realized this is an ideal environment to transform a large group of pure titans outside the area of the stage.

First, strong light.

Second, deafening sounds.

Nobody would notice the flashes and the explosions of a bunch of transforming pure titans.

So yup a big storm is coming.

And Kiyomi Azumabito knew about it. She knew Willy’s plan too and wished Willy can fulfill his duty safely.

Yet she decided to leave. She knew exactly what would happen next.

This. Is. So. Fishy.

Next chapter would be EXTRA lit and I’m not prepared for this.
