In his blog post today (January 8th/January 9th Japan time), Isayama Hajime has divulged that there is a script/monologue error for Eren in chapter 89, which was published yesterday via Bessatsu Shonen’s February 2017 issue.
Rather than

It should’ve been

Basically, Eren was not thinking about consumption but rather physical contact, as he did with Dina’s Titan many chapters ago to unintentionally trigger the Coordinate.
In addition to apologies for starting off the new year this way and assurances that the error will be corrected in the tankobon/manga volume, Isayama also writes:
“This is my mistake, and it will greatly affect the later development in manga.
I apologize for making Eren’s ideas suddenly sound insane and therefore confusing the readers.”
It’s important to note that this means Crunchyroll’s official English translation of Chapter 89 (As well as any other fan translation from before this blog entry) is now also incorrect, since everyone translated from Bessatsu Shonen.
This panel should also be “touch” rather than “consume”:
Okay so… just my personal thoughts super quickly, in order to compare with what we’ll learn once the full translation is out:
Eren Kruger knew Mikasa’s and Armin’s names (and basically said the same thing Grisha said to Eren when he injected him) but when Grisha asks who they are, Kruger says he doesn’t know and he wonders “whose memory it is”.
Time loop? Or memories shared across time because of the titan power? That would go with why a random kid can get the power if the titan shifter dies without giving it to anyone, the titan power would be a link between all the people who once carried it (disregarding the continuous flow of time and space in that case).
It’s possible people being linked by the same titan power can actually all share memories, especially in case of a loop:
that would be why Historia remembers Frieda being sometimes super angry at humanity because she had the First King’s memory/will
and why Eren now remembers his father’s entire past, Kruger’s words as well as what his dad did to Frieda and her family
Maybe that can also explain Mikasa’s headaches and Levi’s suspicous glances sometimes. The Ackermans and Asians are two minorities that are different from the rest of the walls and they’re probably not related at all to Ymir’s people, but maybe the shared memory possibility could also work for them within their respective lineage.
Levi’s dejà vu feeling would be the result of being an Ackerman (and either getting flashbacks of Ackerman stuff or, in case of a loop, of old timeline(s) he already lived through)
And Mikasa’s headaches could come from remembering things because she’s an Ackerman and an Asian (or in case of a loop because she’s having many flashbacks about what she already lived through).
Btw, Mikasa so didn’t look good when she got out of prison that Eren gently went like “u okay, u look thin, are you eating enough???” (aww ❤ he cute) ((edit: ok just in case other people ask, he literally said “did you lose some weight? you should eat properly”))
Ymir’s life was totally shitty and she basically suffered through the same thing as Grisha and his rebellious friends, except that she became a shifter by eating Berik/Marcel aka Reiner’s pal (who was then most likely replaced by Annie, except the titan power was different) and this chapter doesn’t make it likely imo that she’s the “original Ymir”
I think the people who raised her thought she was some kind of reincarnation which would explain why she received the name Ymir (and why she seemed to be an important person to them).

Historia is back + Long Reunion And Talk With Zackley And Co (too long for me to try and read, sorry)
Eren’s outburst is because he made a link between Dina’s lineage and Historia’s family but he lies and says it’s nothing because he didn’t tell Mikasa (and Armin I suppose) yet about the fact that Dina was the titan who ate his mom and Hannes.
More speculations because I tried to read some more parts and if I understood correctly, Eren realized the link between Dina and Historia (because Dina said she was royal blood too) + that back in ch50 the coordinate power activated because he touched Dina (someone related by blood to the First King).
I 100% am not sure about my own reading, but that does look possible considering what happened in ch50 and that it’s when his punch landed on Dina that suddenly titans came running towards her.
At the same time, while I don’t doubt that Dina had royal blood I still have an issue about Historia and the Reiss family really being the First King’s heirs since the First King’s name was Fritz (like the original Ymir and the King before Historia) and that his will forbidden for many years the Reiss family to use his powers (but not Eren in ch50) probably for a very good reason…
