Honestly I couldn’t say for sure. It’s true that Armin might for a while resent the idea that Eren chose him over Erwin because he doesn’t think he is as capable as Erwin was (and not that I would say he’s right, but he’s definitely lacking the experience Erwin had, but that’s why Armin has a lot of people he can count on, to make up for that) but to say this could be what started the transformation of the relationship between Eren and Armin…

Well, to be honest, I just don’t see it for now. I always believed that if their friendship was going to crumble it would be because of the revelations about the world (from Zeke/Reiner/Annie’s mouth) and about what to do with the Titans, since Armin and Eren are both shifters but not the same type of characters.

So, since I believe there is stilll a lot of possibility for developments because we don’t have enough answers about the world, I just wouldn’t say it’s the beginning with what we got with just this chapter.

Besides, Hanji is succeeding to Erwin technically, so even if they said…

I just don’t think Armin will have to shoulder it all alone, especially not in the beginning.

So I just don’t want to assume anything, that’s all ^^ Maybe later in the future we will all go back to that one chapter and say “this is when the friendship between them might have started crumbling” but for now it’s super hard to say. 🙂
