Kuroshitsuji Theory: O!Ciel is gonna have a problem with Snake…Damn.

darkspellmaster:

Okay so while I’m really worried about Lizzy, and I want R!Ciel to get the hell away from her. I’m also concerned about O!Ciel and Snake.

Well see remember what happened in Book of Murder, where Snake tried to kill him for making his family vanish?

Yeah this scene. We know that Snake believes they are still out there. But we also know that Undertaker was also watching the burning of the house. Given that R!Ciel probably saw that too, it’s not that hard to believe that R!Ciel may throw down some more logs onto the fire with Snake. Especially given that Snake was the last one to join them and unlike the others he wasn’t exactly rescued by O!Ciel in the same way.

O!Ciel did lie to him, he did tell him that Doll and the others were safe and still being a family somewhere else. The question is will Snake try to get revenge again?

I wouldn’t put it past R!Ciel to lure Snake to his side, though if R!Ciel is as obsessed with his brother as we think, his options for attacking O!Ciel will be very limited. Given also that Undertaker doesn’t want another Phantomhive to die, I can’t see him wanting that either. So Snake may learn the truth and not side with R!Ciel.

The question is what happens then? If Snake tries to kill him again, which wouldn’t be too hard to get a snake into the jail cell, will he go through with it, or if he learns the truth, will he actually choose to forgive O!Ciel who was traumatized this much and dealing with the fall out of his actions for attaining revenge.

Oddly while I do see Snake trying again, I do see in this case him realizing that his actions will do no good and that O!Ciel is just a messed up little boy that reacted as a child would when faced with a really bad situation. Snake is more of an adult than O!Ciel is, and given the kindness that O!Ciel has given him since that time and the friendship he has bestowed upon him, I get the feeling that Snake, like Finny will want to protect him. Even if he is still hurt by the actions of O!Ciel.

So while I do think there will be a bump in the road regarding Snake for a bit, I have a feeling that the Servants, including him, will come together to rescue and save him. Hell, maybe he has an argument with the other servants and they explain what happened that night to him and he realizes how dangerous and bad they were, and, while he feels bad for their deaths, he also probably will see that the Servants were just protecting the house and Elizabeth at the time.

I just want to see Snake and O!Ciel gain a friendship with real trust like Finny has with him. Even if Ciel isn’t his real name, he has a real name with Snake, that being Smile. Which, in reality, did reflect his truer personality. Someone who was shy but ultimately a happy person.

From Ann’s cinematic record vs ch131: I actually love Ann’s memory more because you can read about Vincent literally saying he wanted to play with the kids (leaving the rest of his work to Tanaka lmao xDD poor Tanaka, something tells me this happened often) and you can even see Lizzie on the left panel holding her arms up and asking Vincent for a hug.

AND THIS IS SO CUTE OKAY.

Seriously I just love that Vincent was depicted to be a good dad, because tbh Ciel’s daddy issues could have given us the wrong idea sometimes.
So yeah, I just love how Vincent wanted to play with his kiddos, how he kept Ciel’s tiny hand in his that one time they all went out (and met Kelvin), hardly ever letting go because Ciel was afraid of all the unknown crowd:

image

In fact, I once briefly discussed the rather crappy father figures in Kuro with an Anon, but I’m actually super glad that Tanaka (one of the few good examples) apparently had a positive influence (as Vincent & Frances’ parental figure after Claudia passed away) on Vincent himself. 😀

Bonus:

image

Even bigger kudos to Vincent for not being ashamed to convey concepts such as this (despite his job being to kill for the Queen), because that 100% suits the rather peculiar environment he was raised in…

  • his mother, a noble lady, who was the Queen’s Watchdog and possibly head of the family before him
  • his super strong little sister, who was probably taught to fight from early on, possibly because she was supposed to be his spare
  • the house butler, whom he most likely knew ever since his childhood and who became his and his sister’s parental figure after his mom died, probably was a Japanese ex-samurai/mercenary/warrior

…which means he never was ashamed of his family being different from what was supposedly typical of/normal for the time era and that’s amazing.
And frankly, I know he has daddy issues but…

I’m really glad Ciel agrees and shares this concept too.

hey there! if you have the time, do you think you could maybe translate yana’s newest drawings (aka the meyrin, william & grell and ronald ones), along with the dialogue in them? thaaanks! ♥️

Snake’s Snakes: A Guide

aquasweep:

As someone who loves snakes, I really love Snake. Of course that also means I really love his snakes, and as someone who’s always been kind of a biology nerd, I thought to try my hand at classifying them. This was honestly really fun to do, and I hope some of you enjoy it!

…. says Keats.

Emily

image

Starting with my personal favorite, Emily is without a doubt a kingsnake, and if we want to go further she’s most likely a red milk snake. The distinctive pattern, bands of yellow and black on red, are actually a trademark of many kingsnake species. This clever disguise is used to mimic the venomous coral snake, keeping predators away.

Some fun kingsnake lore, these constrictors got their name because they hunt and consume other snakes when given the opportunity. They even hunt rattlesnakes, and have a high immunity to their venom.

Oscar

image

Next we have Oscar, who is most definitely a red-tailed green ratsnake. Don’t be fooled by the name, their tails are typically not red, but a light brown. Oscar was also very easy to identify, the tail and the cute blue tongue really gave it away.

Interestingly, this species is known for having quite the attitude when kept in captivity, which I find translates well into Oscar’s cheeky personality. These snakes are also exceptional hunters, waiting in treetops to strike birds in mid-flight.

Donne

image

My second favorite noodle, Donne, is a tiny little thing called a blind snake. At first I thought he might be a worm snake, but the length and lack of eyes made me reconsider (blind snakes have very small rudimentary eyes that are barely visible, especially from a distance). These little cuties are harmless, and indeed small enough to sit on the human ear, at only 8 cm long (they can grow up to 16 cm, but not usually).

Goethe

image

This dazzling noodle here is a corn snake, but not just a corn snake. Goethe is partially albino! If the striking fluorescent orange coloring and pretty pink eyes weren’t enough, he’s got a lovely pattern that certainly screams “creamsicle” to me.

Unlike Oscar, corn snakes make lovely pets with even temperaments, second only to ball pythons (though I guess I’m a little biased).

Keats

image

Unlike Goethe, Keats is completely albino… which made pinpointing him a little difficult. It also doesn’t help that he has no patterning whatsoever. So, going by the shape of his face and his total size, I’d say Keats is most likely an albino gopher snake.

Wordsworth

image

This one was a little tricky, despite his pattern it was difficult to pinpoint what Wordsworth could possibly be. After mulling it over, I realized he’s a corn snake. Though the pattern might look a little different, it follows the same rule, and the head and pupil shape match.

A good rule of thumb, if the pupil is round and the head is small, it’s most likely a constrictor. Venomous snakes tend to have slit pupils and skinny necks (and big fat heads). This helps identifying to some degree.

Wilde

image

Wilde is a big ol’ snake most people know, a boa constrictor. As far as they go, he’s certainly tiny, but his face and body shape are near identical (the pear shaped head is pretty indicative of large constrictors).

Despite being fairly small for a boa, Wilde is still a hefty snake, and would probably weigh upwards of 20-27 kg. That’s a lot to hold on your shoulders!

Webster

image

Unlike the rest of Snake’s snakes, Webster stands out in that he’s the only venomous one here. His pattern, bright yellow eyes, and slit pupils all indicate that he’s a copperhead. Another difference between venomous and non-venomous snakes, the fangs are only prominent in venomous snakes (non-venomous snakes don’t need to pump venom, so their teeth are smaller and hook-shaped). Despite being a pit viper, copperhead’s venom has a low potency, and the snake themselves are considered none aggressive.

Bronte

image

Despite searching through almost every arc and skimming through the ovas, the only panels I’ve found of Bronte were of absolutely no help… I can’t even fathom what he might be. He is… a mystery.

undersnaker:

Snake’s snakes would totally love Elizabeth.

When they’re first meeting, both Snake and Elizabeth would be utterly surprised when the snakes try to climb on her, flicking their tongues for her scent.

Elizabeth would probably be scared for all of five seconds before completely loving them. Meanwhile everyone is just “what”.
