Can I just be paranoid for 5 sec about the clothes pattern???

It reminds me of this, from when Itori told Kaneki about hybrids, in ch34:

Bonus: not a clown but…

image

Seidou’s clothes have the same pattern (and he’s also a proud OEG).

WAIT NEVER MIND, OF COURSE OWL!SEIDOU’S CLOTHES FIT THE PATTERN BECAUSE…

Good evening! About that picture with Itori, Kaneki, « Uta », and Eto, you mentioned in the tags that Itori might have all 4 Kagune types like Rio, do you think they’re possibly related somehow? Also what are your thoughts on Itori overall, she’s pretty mysterious but there’s one small detail that’s been bugging me about her. Her bar is called « Helter Skelter », plus the mole on her breast and her knowledge of Hybrid birth when ironically Touka has a mole and is going through birthing..

Hello Anon and thanks for reading. 🙂 Please check her tag for more posts about her because I’m literally addressing all of your questions in the very first page of her tag so far. Here’s a quick mad summary tho:

  • Shikorae = Rio
  • Roma = Itori’s “protégée” and Roma = 50+ years old
    • => so maybe Itori is older than she looks which would go with her introduction when she yelled that she was an old lady (joke or not?)
image
  • similarly Yomo couldn’t answer Kaneki when he asked ‘what kind of person’ Itori was and Yomo “doesn’t understand jokes” according to Uta, which is making me highly suspicious of her
image
  • no real idea whether Itori is blood-related to Hide, Rio or the kids in the 24th ward, but Itori’s mask has the 4 deck symbols (and each symbol = one kagune type in the TG trump cards) and 3 dots:
    • Rio has 4 kagune types
    • Hide and the 24th ward kids have the 3 dots
    • Roma probably came from the 24th ward as well
      • so maybe she’s a mentor figure to kids from the 24th ward, if she’s not blood related to Hide, Rio and/or the 3 kids Ayato found?
      • in that case she might be the Witch to Hide’s role of the “Witch’s servant” in that childhood play with Kaneki, which would also fit because he’s very good at collecting info
image
image
  • also she knows a lot about hybrid pregnancies, looked sad (?) while speaking about it and the cover of TG ch34 may depict a funeral for someone close to Itori
    • maybe she lost some of/all her own hybrid babies??
    • thus maybe that’s why she’s the mentor/older sister figure of kids who were originally from the 24th ward? => they become a part of her information network
    • I’m personally hoping she’ll have a role to play towards Touka’s own hybrid pregnancy
image
  • Please go read @eto-when-and-where‘s post: In The Penisman by Sensei, Itori’s lookalike was the mother of Hide’s lookalike
    • ((and also she was the wife of the Penisman I think??? which is super funny because Uta once ate a dick in canon and ’you are what you eat’ lmao => /! be careful, with Ishida I can’t be sure that it isn’t actually going to become relevant at some point))
  • Here’s a breakdown of Hide’s name:

    • “naga” => link to the Nagaraj?? who most likely has a link to the Washuus?
    • “chika” => link to Washuu Yoshitoki’s real first name (”Chika”)??
    • “hide” => nah nothing
    • “yoshi” => link to the kanji (same reading) that every Washuu director add to their given name (Chika => Yoshitoki, Nimura => Kichimura)??
    • so if Hide somehow is blood-related to Itori, then maybe his dad is Washuu Yoshitoki?? Or Itori is just a mentor figure to some kids from the 24th ward like Hide could be.

There you go, pick up whatever crack theory you prefer LMAO! As I said 10 days ago, it’s really just thoughts at the moment, nothing can be certain, but for now I’m personally more rooting for a symbolic link between Hide and Itori (her being an older sister/mentor figure and teaching him how to gather info), rather than a blood relation.

Have a nice day. ^^

Would you mid going a little more in depth with why you think Hide has those specific injuries? All we’ve seen is the scar on his throat, correct?

kingkishou:

It’s really involved, but has to do with the theory that Hide is Rio’s mysterious “big brother” and a ton of other subtleties that Ishida has worked in, including:

  • Kijima cutting out Yuuma’s tongue, being maimed in general

Hide speaks in Playstation symbols – Rio and Kijima are crossover characters from the TG videogame, Jail, and there is an ambiguous ending where the brother may not be dead

Also, in the light novel Days, Hide became friends with a ghoul named Ikuma who’s adoptive parents were human. That could be a sign that Hide’s family (or vice versa) adopted one or the other.

  • Mutsuki cutting out tongues as his calling card
  • Mutsuki (a Kaneki lookalike) ripping the jaw/tongue out of Haise (a Hide lookalike)
  • The severe focus on Kaneki’s right eye towards the end of the sewer, V14, and the eye Uta was holding at the end of the first series
We’ve got scars on Hide’s throat. We know he can say a little bit, although not without great difficulty. So, best-case scenario, that means his tongue and jaw are still intact, and it’s only his larynx that’s been crushed/ripped out.
Worst-case scenario, he had his throat ripped, taking a mass of muscle and skin, parts of his jaw, cheek and tongue along with it.
Medium-case scenario, it’s a little of both. Although, you can’t say “M” without both of your lips, and you can’t say “N” clearly without your whole tongue.

in the raws, it looked like it took him a moment to force out the “n”. It’s like “ahmogh…n”

That’s the good news.

bloodycarnations:

How convenient, having two perfectly functioning swords – that aren’t quinques but that apparently can cut into ghoul flesh just as effortlessly – hanging unused on the CCG crest in the Bureau Director’s office…

But seriously, I wonder what’s the deal with those swords. I wonder if they have anything to do with the katanas that the some of the first Washuu are seen wielding:

They don’t look much alike, but maybe the material of the blade is the same? It would make sense for such swords to be held on a wall as part of the symbol of the Commission of Counter Ghoul, if that were the case. It’s be like a hunter hanging their favourite rifle on their wall.

Or maybe it’s finally time we learn about those mysterious bycicles?

and the material of those wheels, since there’s been foreshadowing of there being something special about them?

I’m really curious about this

Hope you don’t mind me adding, but I think a big part of Kuroiwa Sr’s “trick” was to hit slice Rio in the eyes (Yamori said the membrane was a weak point in a ghoul’s defense)

and then– being part of the .1% of humans that can fight a ghoul barehanded– cracking him with sheer blunt force unguarded across the face,

literally shattering all the bones in the front of his skull (which is why his face swelled up right away) before choking him to death.

^more and more and more ghoul/snake themes

I’m not sure if there was anything particularly special about the swords in the CCG’s crest, but it definitely feels like an interesting lead regarding V’s katanas and how they use them, plus a little more on some of that sweet ghoul biology :O

I saw your tags: who do you think will win between Roma and Nishiki? I doubt any of them will die, but I’m thinking Roma will win because Kanou is obviously staying alive till the end.

Hey Anon! Ah, yes indeed, I doubt anyone out of Roma, Shikorae, Kanou, Nishiki and Kurona will die in the next fight (and if I had to still give the likeliest candidate for a burial it would be Kurona for me).

Anyway, what you’re saying is definitely logical, Kanou needs to escape because there is no way he’s dying before the last arc, so Roma and Shikorae have most definitely already won (as in, Kanou will escape for sure).

Oh and you want one more “proof” of their very probable victory? From the moment Roma is younger than Nishiki & Touka and got sent to Cochlea when she was between 10 and 15 years old as an SS-rated ghoul

image

Well, while Nishiki is a really good fighter too, I’m just not sure he’ll win that easily, especially since Shikorae is with her (besides, she’s a Clown and for now the Clowns are definitely the biggest players so her victory is kinda obvious).

I’m not even worrying about Nishiki getting too hurt because, while Roma likes to have fun, even if she turns out to be stronger than him, she’s certainly never going to kill Nishiki anyway.

Not that she isn’t powerful enough to do it (I assume she wouldn’t have been rated SS as a young teenager if she couldn’t win against him),

or that it wouldn’t make sense in the plot as Nishiki still has a role to play; it’s just simply that he is one of Kaneki’s closest friends so if she fucks things up with Nishiki, the Clowns can say bye-bye to Kaneki trusting them.

Besides, there is Kurona who’s a OEG so… while I really want to see their fight, I’m just not worried one bit for that side of the battle (I just want to know why Nishiki is after Kanou, I hope it’s not because of Kimi :/).

Hope it answers your question 🙂 Have a nice weekend!

Scarecrow’s possible identity

inthesweetmadness:

chiselian:

Some people seem to wonder who is behind the mask of the so called Scarecrow ghoul,so, here are my thoughts about who it could be and why :^)

(Also a thank you to @inthesweetmadness for the panel of the misterious person and for the convos that led to this !)

[just to add on a few additional points:]

  • one of the most direct possible hints at scarecrow being connected to rio and tg jail is the fact that he speaks through the form of playstation symbols ㅡ tg jail can only be played on a ps vita. also if i remember correctly, tg jail was released right after the auction arc (in which scarecrow first made his appearance), as it transitioned into the rose arc and kijima’s introduction to the story (and ultimately, the transition of tg jail into canon).
    • rio/shikorae also speaks through the use of symbols (alt codes), so that might be another subtle hint at their connection.
  • @chiselian told me about the various endings in the scenario book in which it hints that kijima didn’t actually kill rio’s older brother and instead, kept him in an isolated warehouse. rio goes to the warehouse and although the scene’s description is ambiguous, it hints that there was another presence, alive (movement within the dark). i think this was also the ending that was titled “coffee for two”, where rio ends up having a cup of coffee with an unknown individual (his brother) at the very end.

Uwah Seido just ate that investigator guy o_O I hope the fight will get longer with Hoji because otherwise there is pretty much no hope left for redemption. Can you really see Seido go back to what he used to be? He Perry much feels like he’s dedicated to Aogiri now…

Hello, and sorry for the delayed answer!

Yeah, Hachikawa didn’t have much chance against both Shikorae and Seidou, but I do see it differently if or when Seidou and Houji do face each other.

After all, Ishida once published a card on twitter for Seidou’s birthday mentioning that he couldn’t fight really well against both Akira and Houji for probably sentimental reasons: Houji because he was Seidou’s boss and as he said to Haise…

image

(no he’s not talking about Amon in that scene)

And Akira because he had (still has?) an obviously huge crush on her. So, yeah I do envision the fight between Takizawa and Houji to be longer and more… um, emotional if I can use that word.

About your other question: I once made a huge post on that and basically a summary would be that Seidou right now is engulfed in his own degrading opinion of himself and it rubs off on how he sees the world.

That’s why he seems to be so “dedicated” to Aogiri, because all that matters for now is that he’s strong and that Aogiri recognize his strength. So because of that huge inferiority complex he already had back in TG and the fact Eto probably tormented him quite a bit, here’s what you’ve got:

  • “Life with Aogiri = cool because I’m SS+ and I can eat humans and kill most ghouls”
  • “whereas life as a rank 2 investigator was shit because no one respected me and I was always afraid to die because I was weak (+ Akira never looked at me because I was useless)

I’m pretty sure that’s how you can explain his mind right now and so while I don’t think he can go back to what he used to be, he can certainly realize that Aogiri isn’t the best place for him if he starts fighting his inferiority complex.

Of course, it’s easier said than done: the inferiority complex means that Seidou has got his own brain as an enemy and it’d be really hard for him to fight against it on his own. Besides, to that you even have to add all the trauma he went through once he became one of Kanou’s “success”, which means that it is even less easy to make him see himself differently.

…Except maybe when it comes to Houji and Akira, who are the decisive factors for Seidou’s character development.

image
image

The auction arc did prove that Seidou had all his memories but that becoming a OEG made him reject the human him of before whom he saw as weak and useless. So if somehow Houji and Akira can make him understand that they never saw him like that, it might shatter his confidence as a OEG and initiate a character development in a more positive direction.

Because life with Aogiri isn’t “nice” in the first place, and also the good aspects of his life as an investigator (friends, family, sanity…) are things he’s apparently totally lacking in his life as a OEG, which is why I think it *could* work.

That’s what I hope for at least, because I always liked Seidou as a character and I think his character can also help Houji and Akira realize that the CCG isn’t necessarily the “good side” in this battle either.
So it’d be like a double/triple character development: Akira and Houji save Seidou and in return that somehow makes them open their eyes when it comes to the CCG.

…Sorry, I totally went off rambling, but I really love talking about Seidou, he’s one of my faves. 🙂 I am aware that hoping Seidou will change sides can be too optimistic but hey, we’re allowed to have dreams until Ishida shatters them, haha!

I hope it answers your question. 🙂

best bros

I really hope these two are actually pals. Rio and Takizawa were both such precious children. Look what happened to them. I really hope they’re in this crazy, crazy boat together.

I’d like to think they are. When you think back to the original series, sharing meals was always how Takizawa would express friendship towards others.

Having dinner with Amon.

Trying to share crackers with Amon. (And being rejected.)

Having lunch with Hide.

And the one time we see his family, it’s while he’s eating his mother’s cooking. So while we never clicked on it before, Takizawa had a lot of associations with food in the original series and the warmth/kindness involved in sharing meals with others.

As a Ghoul, he seems to be something of a Binge Eater that enjoys chowing down on large numbers of people. But here he is, offering to share a meal with Shikorae just like the old days.
