I don’t like her at all! Sure she held some affection for OCiel, but that’s inconsequential considering she literally tried to murder him. And said this to him as well:
“I wish someone like you had never been born!” (CH10)
She’s horrible.
And the only reason Madam Red didn’t kill him is because OCiel reminded her of Rachel, not because she cared about him enough to stop. Plus, Lizzy says that Madam Red evidently played favourites between the twins which is… pretty hurtful. I see no reason why she deserves any respect.
So overall they didn’t have a good relationship, even if OC looks back on her fondly he shouldn’t do.
we’ve watched Our!Ciel go through so many emotional breakdowns before in the manga but for some reason this one is way worse because he can’t even speak, he’s just standing there watching everyone slowly turn against him and regressing back to the shy, scared little kid he was when his brother was still alive
i know we haven’t seen hange yet and i know the kids grew up but i like how levi is the only one without a major makeover, he’s the only one with a cloak (the cloak which was always pretty symbolic, so i feel like there’s something more that can be derived from this) and blades and pieces of the old gear – maybe its preemptive to say this but it seems to me like erwin’s corps are figuratively dead with the exception of him.
this bitch is still living in the past, he looks hard and rougher, like he’s been staring in the mirror for 4 years thinking about killing zeke. he stood up high pretty much that whole time until he had to, like he was waiting/looking for him to show up. the two panels where they were shown together are significant, cus the promise is alive, lads. honestly i was worried about seeing levi but i am Pleased so far.
you aren’t bothering me! i’m terrible at answering asks but i love them all ❤
hmmm… depends on how you see it! it could mean he confirmed god’s existence but i interpreted it in a less literal sense, with sebastian emphasizing the severity behind ciel’s change in faith rather than the actual truth behind it. ha– that’s hard to explain. whether or not god is real, sebastian can still see the weight that turning your back against any god has for humanity. … or something like that.
since yana touches on multiple religions across kuro, i can’t say i’d ever expect her to confirm one as more right above another. seems like she’s going for her own vision of things, which i like! it’s interesting
She didn’t have some big personality change after the relationship started and, barring the fact she called him her husband, she’d probably be doing the exact same thing to save him from dragon if they were just friends. The only difference is she wouldn’t be pregnant which means the slowly arising internal conflict from her having to choose her unborn baby (and thusly herself) over her friends and family wouldn’t be there.
I don’t know if it was what you were going for but I’ve never been a huge fan of the implication that being in a relationship has somehow changed or lessened her character. There’s a difference between her just being sidelined as someone’s love interest and Kaneki being her love interest too, which I think Ishida has handled pretty well.
