singingbun:

I swear It took me a whole two years to realize:

That Ginoza’s therapist was Kamui……

That after all this time, Ginoza’s been giving him info about his line of work unknowingly….

That Kamui actually offered to clear Ginoza’s hue (possibly using the same drug he used on people to clear their hues)….

That the very reason why Kamui eyed on Tsunemori Akane….

Was because Ginoza has been talking to Kamui about Akane the ENTIRE TIME…….

So in other words: Kamui got to know about Akane through Ginoza and began looking for more info on her?!

Please correct me if I am wrong, and I know that this reveal does not matter anyway since Kamui is bust but I can’t help but think Maybe the events that transpired S2 was because of the therapy sessions which made Kamui curious of Akane.

I swear if I I am overreacting, please by all mean correct me.

Hey there. I saw you reblog some psycho-pass stuff recently and would you recommend the series for someone who watched Zankyou no Terror and Ghost in the Shell? I’m fond of thrillers but I’m not sure about Psycho-pass because it has several seasons and movies so I don’t want to start something that big and be disappointed. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello 🙂 I haven’t watched Ghost in the Shell but I’ll say that Psycho Pass shares similarities with Terror in resonance when it comes to the genre, even if I enjoyed PP way more than the other one.

About Psycho Pass, so far it has two seasons and a movie (s1 -> s2 -> movie), and while those three parts are about the same characters, each plot is different and restricted to the duration of the season/movie, meaning that even though there is a certain timeline, you can watch just s1 and decide if you want to go deeper into the universe or stop there.

Honestly my only advice would be to try a few episodes to see whether it might be your thing or not, knowing that the first episode is a good indicator of the general tone of this series.

Here are a few additional thoughts about s1:

  • The first season has 22 episodes of 20 minutes (and the extended edition 11 episodes of 40+ minutes), and when it comes to just the plot or the explanation of the dystopia, I’ll say there isn’t much to criticize, it’s well written, dark and quite interesting to ponder on if that’s your thing. 🙂
  • In case you also need a short summary, PP is about a dystopia in which a new system was created in Japan years ago, making it possible to quantify the mental state of people and so to act preventively against possible criminals.
You’ll be following a team of police inspectors and their subordinates who act as the system’s hand to protect people and solve crimes, obviously until the main villain gets introduced and complicates everything, haha.
  • And when it comes the characters, well, PP offers in my opinion one of the best character developments I’ve ever seen for the majority of its characters (even if for me it’s also appreciated through season 2 and the movie, not just s1).

I would also advise you to watch out for the obviously violent and gore side of the story, in case you can be triggered by this kind of things.
I wish I had a link to give you with all the trigger warnings for the series but I couldn’t find one, so just know that it is darker and more brutal than Terror in Resonance.

There, sorry, I have no idea whether that helped you or not, but PP is definitely my favorite dystopia series and I’ve watched quite a few, so forgive me for being a bit biased here, haha. 🙂

Thanks for passing by, Anon. 🙂

Psycho-Pass Asylum 2: About Girl

nami-di-wave:

Really short summary
because I promised but don’t have enough time.

This novel took place at
the end of 2113 year, between first and second seasons of the anime. First division
investigated children’s murder. Yayoi went undercover and a lot of stuff happened.
Main villain turned out to be Takizaki Rina. And eventually Yayoi killed her.

Balcony scene translation

cleverwolfpoetry:

I just couldn’t
resist. I planned to translate all the book without anticipations, but I
continuously jump to the interesting parts…so here it is…the balcony scene.
This is the first part (not present in the movie) where Kougami and Akane speak
of their private things. At the end of this exchange there is the well known
speech on Kougami becoming like Makishima….I will finish the translation of
this part in a few days. I enjoyed translating it because  I think it’s really intimate.

Evening falls
in the resistance forces basecamp……in Kougami’s room, the light has been let
drop to darkness. Tsunemori uses the bed and Kougami, layed a blanket on the
floor, is trying to sleep. Anyway, it’s after they have cut their way through
the battlefield. Keeping calm and thinking about it, he felt exhausted. The
next morning, he had in his mind to discuss with Sem the future line of action.

Kougami
Shinya and Tsunemori Akane. The strange tense atmosphere between them can’t be
wiped up. Nothing but the awareness of Tsunemori is vivid, making his nerve on
the edge. No, he’s too tired, that’s why he is too sensitive, isn’t it? Anyway,
without getting to fall asleep, Tsunemori went out from Kougami’s room.

From the
window of the roofed corridor, she looks outside.

A: [Ah….]

Probably
there are only a few electric generators. Guerrilla men light real fires in
place of lighting equipments. The same bonfires men used a long time ago.

The night sky
was shockingly beautiful.

The stars
contour is crystal clear like a precious stone. The guerrilla camp has only a
few lights.

Speaking of
its amount of light, such a bonfire is neither one tenth of a streetlamp used
in Tokyo. With the ground so dark, you can see the sky well.

K: [The sky’s
amazing]

Also Kougami
had gotten up.

A: [The stars
look like they could fall]

K: [In Japan
the ground is too bright]

A: [And
still, the convenience of having electricity is useful indeed, isn’t it?]

K: [Of
course, that’s right. The science development itself is not bad. The matter is,
for a minority’s profit, science and technology are misused]

They have met
again after so long……

Kougami has
remained the same Kougami.

K: [Besides,
is Gino an enforcer? …] muttered Kougami with a hint of regret.

K: [In the
old days…..popsan….Masaokasan said it. ‘I don’t wanna see Nobuchika fall and
become an enforcer’. If I meet him again in the afterlife, I wouldn’t be able
to apologize]

A: [If such a
thing happens…..]

K:
[Kunizuka?]

A: [……she’s
as before….but, her crime coefficient has a tendency to improvement]

K: [A good
news….I suppose. Shion?]

A: [That person is always the same. She’s the
actual balancer of Division 1]

K:
[….Kagari?]

A:
[……nothing. He’s still missing]

He’s not
missing.

Kagari was
killed.

She knows it
but, if she tell the truth, what would the Sibyl System do? Would it try to
kill Kougami?

It has
nothing to do with the escape abroad. Fighting against Sibyl System is a thing,
but knowing the truth about the System, it’s impossible….this can’t be greeted
by Sibyl.

She can’t
tell the truth….her chest feels so tight.

Still, there’s no way she can afford Kougami to
discover that.

K: […is that so? And professor Saiga?]

[He’s been secluded but as an important advisor, he’s
allowed to work ]

K: [So, he lives? …]

Kougami smiled faintly.

K: [Living is good]

At that words, also Akane was lured to smile.

…..ah, that’s exactly right.

Living is not a bad thing.

K: [What do you think about me?]

Kougami asked.

K: [Are you mad with me?]

A: [If Kougamisan had not killed Makishima….]

While pondering over the question, Tsunemori answers.

A: [Ginozasan’s hue was getting worse. He might had
become an enforcer the same. Moreover, even if Makishima lived, Kougamisan
would be eliminated]

…..if so, I might not be able to forgive Sibyl System
really.

A: [Accordingly, there’s a high chance that your
escaping abroad …..has been the best judgement. It’s irritating. I would have
preferred you to hold on more in Japan….]

K: [I think….I’m inexcusable]

A: [The Kougamisan staying with the guerrilla is very lively
and it kind of pisses me a little]

K: [Lively? Going here and there is nerve-wracking…..]
Kougami frowns.

K: [And mama’s also in Japan…]

A: [Tomoyosa, isn’t she?]

K: [Yes]

A: [I go to see her now and then. To disctract her, I
think]

K: [Thanks]

A: [No…]

While saying so, Kougami has a really gentle look on
his face.

After seeing that, Tsunemori thinks he is cunning.

K: [What did you think of her? In my memory she’s a
very brave person]

A: [Truly, she’s very brave. She hasn’t shown a weak
face in front of me]

K: [I can’t be in Japan. Then, here there are things
to do. I can’t have my way…..human life is such a thing]

The night goes on. The bugs piled up around the fires,
making a musical buzz.

A: [Kougamisan, isn’t life precious?]

K: [No, it isn’t]

A: [….]

K: [The matter is not when will we die, it’s how we
will die]

The moment Kougami said so, Tsunemori unable to bear
it more, burst into a laugh.

A: [Fu fu]

Just like that, growing steadily and holding her sides
had a hearty laughter.

K: [What’s the matter]

Long ago she had laughed that way. From the bottom of
her heart.

A: [Because Kougamisan….]

……because you said it the way I expected you to say.

A: [No, it’s nothing]

K: [Obnoxious. You’ve started laughing out of the
blue…..]

Kougami too, shrugging in his shoulders, laughed a
little.

I hope you enjoyed  it.
