I like the idea of them celebrating together. Initially I wanted to include Athena and Apollo as well, but because I´m such a donut I overfilled the canvas and there was no space left. ^^; Picture them somewhere in that room; I might draw them for New Year´s Eve if I find the time.

You don´t see it that well. but Phoenix isn´t wearing his usual lawyer suit. It´s a bit darker, though of a similar colour.
I had fun designing clothes for them all. I went elegant, classy but not too sober and feminine for Franziska, feminine and playful for Trucy, and elegant and suave for Miles. I wanted to keep a cravat-like thing for him minus the frills, so I went with this.

The background was quite the challenge. XD Silverware is by far not my forte, and expect to see that tree recycled in many other pictures to come.

ALSO: Have a closeup of Phoenix and Trucy, Miles and Franziska.
Oh, and I imagine Phoenix playing this.

I do believe there were physical punishments in Von Karma education. Manfred beat his pupil and daughter when they were not “perfect”, and Franziska learned her violent behavior from her father. Even as a kid in AAI, she showed seriously no guilt or hesitation when hitting other people, almost like she didn’t think it was wrong. Franziska was just doing what she was taught from her father since very young -which she found quite effective- just like she didn’t think it was wrong to pursue perfect victory as a prosecutor.

To make matters worse, Edgeworth never stopped her when she beat him. He couldn’t possibly blame the kid when she had such a lonely childhood and he was her only friend. So he didn’t do anything normal brothers would do to their baby sisters: scolding her, hitting her back, telling her she’s wrong, making her apologize for hitting him. As a result, Edgeworth spoiled Franziska in total opposite way her father messed her up. (Of course Manfred didn’t stop it. He joyfully watched his daughter using Gregory’s son as her punching bag.)

In the same way, I think Morgan spanked Pearl when the child didn’t behave the way she wanted. And Maya was lenient with Pearl’s violence for the same reason Edgeworth was lenient with Franziska. Instead of stopping Pearl from hitting Phoenix, Maya asked him “please understand Pearly” and just let her hit him anytime she wanted, which I seriously think shouldn’t be done when raising a kid. My thought when I saw little Pearl was “She is a bright child, but somebody really have to teach her it’s not right to hit others even when they should be punished. Or she will end up like Franziska.”
