I noticed this as well…It might also say ‘Care shall be taken’. Looks like it could be ‘shall’ or ‘should’. Either way, it’s fascinating… Anytime Yana writes something in the manga in English, we ought to pay attention…

First of all, isn’t care taken with every soul that the Shinigami reap? For some reason, Grelle felt the need to make a note in Agni’s file, even though she says “Remarks – Nothing in particular”. If care is taken with every soul reaped, perhaps the note means extra care should be taken with this soul in particular? At first I thought maybe Agni wasn’t on the To-Die List, but since Grelle seemed to know in advance that she’d be ‘seeing them again soon’ in the chapter where she meets Our Ciel and Sebastian in the lab, I don’t think that’s the case.

It could be related to the fact that one of the people who attacked Agni is a Bizarre Doll made by a rogue reaper…or that the other attacker (Knife Dude) is supernatural in some way, or both. The note could mean that Agni’s death is a part of the ongoing investigation by the reapers of Undertaker and his actions, since Agni’s death is a direct consequence of those actions.

Thoughts?

What I personally thought is that Agni is related to our Ciel, who is related to Undertaker. As the shinigami (Grelle included) know that Undertaker is the one who’s ‘reviving the dead’, maybe they feel the need to deal with souls that are related to UT a bit more carefully (in case… you know, UT might get any funny ideas). It definitely has to be a clue for something, I think.

Hi! Our!Ciel trying to retrieve the ring himself made me wonder: Maybe when Real!Ciel said “How dare you do that to me on that day?” he was actually talking to Our!Ciel for “making a mess of him” and not Sebastian for eating his soul. I hope that made sense. ^^; What do you think?

But maybe he really didn’t mean that he ate his soul but rather what happened to the ring, especially since there’s a focus on the ring after real Ciel said these words.

We know that the ring seems really important to the twin. It could calm him down when he was a kid after being so desperate about our Ciel’s plans for his future; he held on to the ring during their whole captivity and swallowed it so no one could get it; and the first message he left for our Ciel when he returned was about the ring, as well:

So maybe the fact that Sebastian and our Ciel got the ring out of real Ciel’s body enrages the twin even more than Sebastian eating his soul. Or at least he may not only talk about his soul but also about the ring when he says “How dare you do that to me that day”. So the twin could have probably meant both – our Ciel and Sebastian – but I think he rather meant to address Sebastian in that scene.

ciel is on the verge of crying and it’s not a reaction towards angi’s death (tho he was shocked/horrified over it) and it’s not over soma punching him. actually he’s not even angry or anything over that. it’s purely over soma getting hurt. because of him. because being watchdog is a dangerous role that puts everyone close to him in danger 

even tho he’s says “i told you not to get involved with me” he’s probably beating himself up on the inside because he cares about soma and he never wanted him to get hurt. especially not this bad

I think i found a plothole and wanted to share: we all know Sebastian doesn’t lie. We also know OC asked him « you wouldn’t lie to me, right » related to RC being dead. But OC put those 3 conditions AFTER they burned down the building. i wonder if it’s possible for Sebastian to have lied….

Hi Anon! Do you mean that it would be possible for Sebastian to have lied about what happened to real!Ciel because the contract wasn’t made yet when the twin died? 

Frankly, sorry but I agree with @akumadeenglish on the matter of Sebastian eating real!Ciel’s soul and I do think that our!Ciel is very much aware of that, so Seb never indeed told lies about what happened to the twin.

Let’s theorize that ultimately Seb was allowed to lie before Ciel uttered those 3 conditions though…

How sure are you that Ciel didn’t ask Seb about what he did to his brother at least once after he ordered Seb to never lie?
No matter, but take the example of ch128: even if Seb had somehow lied to Ciel just before he ordered him never to, then Seb wouldn’t be able to lie on the subject anymore anyway. So, look at what he said when Ciel asked him in ch128…

… the fact he didn’t change his version of the events means that Seb never hid what happened from our!Ciel ever since the very first minute of them being contracted.

So I’m sorry Anon, I know it’s tempting to find a flaw somewhere in the contract to make it null but I really think Seb is very serious about never lying. 🙂

The chapters are legally released every 18th of the month and spoilers are generally between the 15th and 17th when we get some (we’re the fandom that goes crazy at this time of the month xD).

We have an official release of the translated chapter by Yen Press on the 18th or any week day the closest to the 18th (this month it will be on the 19th since the 18th is a Sunday) and I believe Mangastream is the one translating the monthly chapter (release date approximately between the 18th and 25th of each month).

Do you have any idea what « lie » Ciel is asking Sebastian about? Given 2CT is probably about to be confirmed, could it be about real!Ciel being dead or something? Aaah everything is happening so quickly now I’m;; Σ(ﾟДﾟ )

Anyway, I think Ciel is referring to this scene where Ciel and Sebastian made the contract three years ago:

Ciel found the message on the wall and immediately understood what it was about. Assuming the 2CT is true, he probably thought of his twin brother (maybe the word “candy” was a secret code for the twins) but then dispelled that thought because he thought it was “impossible” for real!Ciel to be alive.

But later he found the pieces of the family photo that fell from Soma’s hand (which most probably showed the twin) and now he can’t exclude that “impossible” possibility of his twin brother’s return anymore.

So he asks Sebastian “You didn’t ever lie to me, did you?” in the sense of “You DID eat real!Ciel’s soul that day, didn’t you?” and Sebastian replies “Yes, I don’t tell any lies.” meaning “Yes, I DID eat your twin’s soul.”. With that confirmation, there’s only one possiblity left, namely that his twin has come back as a **bizarre doll (anything else is impossible because the twin’s soul most probably doesn’t exist anymore). Hence, Ciel’s huge shock at the end of the chapter:

That’s how I and many others in the JP interpreted the last scene. It might be completely wrong, but whatever, we’ll get to know the correct answer someday, anyway (hopefully, next month!) (=ﾟωﾟ)ﾉ

((**Note: Many people tend to forget this, but in order to create a bizarre doll you need 1) a somewhat clean body including the cinematic records + 2) fake records + 3) future episodes, i.e. it does not require a soul. A BD does not have a soul, that’s why they are after living humans in the first place.))
