Hello Anon! Well, the last time we truly saw Lizzie was in ch116/117 and…
…She seemed more worried about stopping Seb from going to the labs rather than fighting against a real demon, so no, I don’t think that she knew at the time.
Of course, there is still a possibility that ever since ch117 Bravat or real!Ciel told her about Seb’s true nature (since Bravat definitely knows and real!Ciel seems to know as well that Seb is the demon who ate his soul 4 years ago), however, assuming that Lizzie is most likely seen as a pawn to hurt our!Ciel [x]…
…it would be wiser of Bravat and co not to tell her, in my opinion.
Lizzie is currently conflicted about making the right choice between her duty (real!Ciel) and her feelings (our!Ciel) [x][x] so, should Bravat tell her that our!Ciel sold his soul to a demon, she would probably be sadder at the idea of losing him and it could push her to disregard her duty in favor of her feelings.
It might not appear blatant, but I’m guessing that arguing that real!Ciel was in poor “health” is probably the argument that won Lizzie over when it comes to her running away from home:
She decided that she would be here for him, because he was in dire straits, and then she stayed because he is her rightful fiancé.
Lizzie is most likely the ace of Bravat’s side, because she definitely is the person our!Ciel cares the most about (it’s even how Bravat referred to her), which means that they can’t afford to have her changing sides. So, not telling Lizzie about Seb to keep her thinking that real!Ciel needs her the most (on top of her doing her duty) is the most logical.
Maybe she’ll know before the end of the arc though if, for instance, she changes sides and a very angry real!Ciel drops another bomb on her: the boy she loves not only lied about his identity but he also sold his soul to a demon and won’t live old.
TL;DR no, I don’t think she knows for now. 🙂

You can hardly even say that she meant to kill him though: she knew he was strong so she attacked him because he was trespassing and her only reason for doing so was because she was being Gandalf 2.0 “I shall not let you pass”.
In my opinion, all she wanted was to protect the lab, most likely because she was told that it was very important to real!Ciel’s survival (since it has all the blood and all), but maybe you’re right and the “you dare ask why” part is supposed to hint that real!Ciel/Bravat told her that Seb “did something to real!Ciel, 4 years ago”.

Hey Anon, as I was saying just above, frankly I’m not sure about “killing intents”. First of all, she was obviously very confused, but for me the reason she attacked Seb was
because she was aware of how strong he was
and she did it to protect the labs, for real!Ciel’s sake.
It doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care about our!Ciel anymore, it just means that at the time she thought she had no choice when she took the decision to be by real!Ciel’s side (even if we know that it makes her unhappy). Without attacking Sebastian in order to stop him, he surely would have wasted no time discarding her to the side to go to the labs. And again I just don’t think she knew he was a demon in ch117 because she didn’t show fear for her sake, which she should have if she had known he was a demon.
Anyway, Anon, Lizzie is bound not to be friendly with Sebastian until the end of the manga. She might not know about his nature or the contract with our!Ciel right now but, narratively speaking, she’s bound to know at some point and, when she finds out, she won’t trust or like Sebastian anymore.
TL;DR I think she attacked Seb in ch117 because her goal at the time was “protecting the labs” (and thus helping real!Ciel by doing so). She might have been told that Seb did something to real!Ciel 4 years ago, but I don’t think she was in to kill him, that she knows he’s a demon or about the contract.
Also Lizzie definitely still cares about our!Ciel. 😉

for reasons I explained in the first post. However, if Lizzie is really a pawn to use against our!Ciel, then she’s definitely emotionally manipulated as well.
So, real!Ciel (or Bravat) could have said that Seb did something to him, or even worse, that our!Ciel allied with Seb in order to get rid of him (which is a hugely distorted version of the truth), which would explain why Lizzie is so heartbroken and depressed.
Think about it, it might not be just the fact that our!Ciel lied that’s making Lizzie so sad: I wouldn’t be surprised if real!Ciel had distorted the truth to make her choose his side, since she’s the best person to hurt our!Ciel (here’s a friendly reminder that the twin is a villain by the way [x]).
Back to your question, with this theory and her being confused and emotionally exhausted in mind, maybe she almost went for a kill then. It’s definitely possible, all I’m saying is that I doubt her heart was 100% into it, due to her being completely lost as to what to do and feel for a long time.
Overall, the interpretation of ch117 depends on what exactly Bravat/Real!Ciel told Lizzie about our!Ciel and Seb. Nonetheless, I hope this explanation works a little better for you?

What I found interesting about her line “I can’t go back ‘there’!” wasn’t really the ‘there’ part, but rather the emphasised “I” (「あたしだけは」). Iirc YP translated it as “I for one” and the online scanlation as “Only I” (or vice versa). These translations are correct, but the phrase “～だけは“ also has the connotation of “at least”. I’m not sure if there’s a difference in nuance between “only I” and “I at least” in English, but in Japanese there is a slight difference, i.e. the latter one has the nuance of “I -at least- (in the sense of “even if no one else does, I at least”) have to stay here”. Oh GOD I’m not sure at all if I managed to get across the nuance properly XD Damn language barrier! And as you might know, some people (including me) believe that the boy in ch113 was real!Ciel and that he is the reason why Lizzie stays with the cult. So if we go by this theory, then we can interpret her line as “I (as real!Ciel’s childhood friend, cousin and fiancée) at least, have to stay by his side.”
Maybe a bit far-fetched, but anyway, putting the 2ct theory aside, I think we can at least agree that Lizzie might have been confused in ch117, but definitely not brainwashed. She decided of her own free will to stay with the cult and refused to go back to our!Ciel and her family (despite knowing that they are worried about her). So there must be a good reason for her determination, and to me (and to some others) it makes some sense if we take the 2ct into consideration 😀

Anyway, to answer your question about Lizzie’s strength: Edward is good at fencing, because he managed to fight alongside his parents on the Campania against a large number of Bizarre Dolls and he was ready to fight them again with Ciel in Weston, but Lizzie? Nah, she’s a level higher or two!
Yana tends to use that strength of hers as comic relief though, which is maybe why you think “she’s only good at fencing”, but I’ve already given examples before of how overused comic moments by Yana often hide a particular truth and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be the same for her. 🙂
So here is “proof” of her considerable strength:
She’s a genius at fencing
Obviously that’s one evidence lol, she’s so skilled than Grey himself considers her a worthy opponent (by the way, he’s ten years older, just saying)
and Grey was able to take on Bard and Mey Rin together without a single difficulty.
Fencing is not just about strength of course, but when you fight men older than you at 14 then it becomes a part of the conditions to win 🙂
She can knock out or strangle people very easily (so easily that she doesn’t seem to control it sometimes)
You have moments with Lizzie strangling Ciel whenever she hugs him or knocking Edward out each time with just one hit.
I repeat, I don’t think it’s just comic relief. Or rather, I think it stopped being just comic relief for me in the last chapter…
…Because this is kind of an important moment in ch110 after Ed’s outburst, since Bravat is basically working his magic on her and messing with her mind while Edward is casually being strangled by his sister (and she doesn’t even pay attention to Ed as she strangles him).
You could call Edward very weak of course haha, it remains a possibility, but he’s a boy and older than her (he’s what? 17 or 18 when she’s 14?) and besides, Yana uses it even outside the manga between Ciel and Lizzie:

So, comic relief or not, it’s for you to see. Personally, it makes me laugh but considering she can also take on men like Grey at 14, it all adds up to the same thing in my head. ^^
She climbs on walls very easily
I suggest maybe you try it to see how complicated it is and how much strength it requires while it seems so effortless for her (just like for our demon butler lol), and please don’t forget that she’s wearing a heavy dress and a corset in that scene.
And there is one final scene…
Seriously now, all the panels I showed can be taken as clues depending on your own appreciation of these moments: some people will call it comic relief, some others will think maybe it’s hiding more than just comedy and for me, as you must have understood, they say that Lizzie has this weird strength and that she can’t always control it.
Because, remember the Campania arc? Once she found her resolve to fight, she became unstoppable, climbing on walls, jumping over those corpses and fighting with two swords (all her senses in alert, when she wasn’t able to sense the BDs behind her in the cargo)… So I think maybe this strength is all inwardly supernatural when it comes to her, as I was explaining yesterday, and that once it’s triggered by fear, shame or anger…
…It can potentially do a lot of damages (and quoting Ciel: “I feared more for my life than when we confronted the panzer”).
That’s all. 🙂 This post doesn’t have to convince you at all, but for me there seems to be an awful lot of just “funny” moments relating to Lizzie being strong, when we all saw what she was really capable of in the Campania arc.

I should have brought this post back after ch117 came out but… It’s just in case some people still have doubts about Lizzie being stronger than your average human in this manga…
And I’m really looking forward to the moment Yana-sensei will tell us whether the lineage of the P family makes Lizzie (and Ciel) just humans or if they’re slighly more than that.
Also, what’s interesting besides Lizzie’s strength in that scene is that, in case Lizzie and Ciel aren’t entirely human, then Seb doesn’t seem to have a clue about it and that perspective is really interesting when it comes to the contract with Ciel.
As worried as I am about Lizzie and what she’s been told and what she’s been brainwashed into, I still think it’s pretty damn awesome that she’s good enough to force Sebastian to fight outside of his human guise, even just a little. I mean, she nicked his bowtie. That’s impressive. Even Sebastian knew it.
Or, they have differently sized donation machines, small one for B and AB, and the big one for O and A. So they don’t waste the blood and fill up the bottles properly. In that case, maybe the blood trees are centrifuges? They use liquid so the glass doesn’t break. So it’s first and empty tank, starts spinning, and when it’s supposed to slow down it gets filled with water? Probably not. Yana probably really just took some artistic liberties. Not the 1st time it happens in any form of media. 2/2

Hm, well to be honest I’m not 100% on point with the details of blood transfusions but I wouldn’t have said you’d need to use a centrifuge to separate plasma and blood honestly. For experiments that would be different but if all they do is trying transfusion then I’m not sure.
Oh well 🙂 Artistic liberties or not, it’s quite the impressive work from Yana’s part anyway, honestly I’m impressed. In the end, we still don’t know what the blue sect is really up to besides the obvious “experimentation for blood transfusion”, but there could be more. Or not. Hard to say, haha.
I like how the lab looks like and we might get another explanation as to why it looks that way if there are a few clues remaining that Seb didn’t notice or show to us readers.

In the original language Lizzie’s line goes 「そんなの…わかるわけないじゃない！！」
Literally, it’s
そんなの such a thing/something like that
わかる to understand / to know
わけない(a form used when you totally deny something) there’s no way that…, sth/sb can/does/will not…, it’s impossible that…
じゃない(just a suffix to show the speaker’s strong emotion).
As you can see, there’s no clear subject in this sentence, so the subject could be either Lizzie -> “How should I know! / Like I’d know!” (私にわかるわけないじゃない！) or Sebastian => “There’s no way you’ll understand! / Like you’d understand!” （貴方にわかるわけないじゃない！）. So both translations are possible.
That being said, considering the context, I personally think it’s the latter one, since after that line in question Lizzy says “I, too, / Even I don’t know what to do anymore” (「 あたしにだってどうしていいのかわからないの」). Obviously she’s very confused. Poor girl =(
I’m actually very curious about this part in the latest chapter.
Everyone knows how much Elizabeth loves Ciel. So when Sebastian grins at Ciel while talking about how impossible it is for even God (or someone with the power of a God) to “shackle someone’s heart”, it seems like a hint that the only person who can help her out of this “trance” she’s in is Ciel because of the typical “True love breaks the spell” cliché.
Maybe it’s just me who’s being too much of a hopeless romantic, but it’s not impossible.
But other than that, my favorite part of the chapter has to be;
Badass Lizzy. Her skills are truly amazing. So amazing that even Sebastian – a demon – complimented her for it. She’s simply one hell of a human.
