How good or disastrous would a day of Itori and Uta watching Ichika be?

soutasnotebook:

10/10 disaster.

10/10 good fun for Ichika, Uta, and Itori though.

The disaster only when Kaneki and Touka come home to find Ichika sipping (very dilute) blood wine, with fake tattoos and fluorescent hair dye.

She’s also wearing Itori’s high-heels. The counter is covered in paint from the drawings Uta has been doing with her.

While Kaneki wheezes in a corner, Touka calls Yomo and asks him to “collect his trash friends.” Which Uta and Itori take as a compliment.

This has been a wild ride and I’m glad to have followed your blog for this entire time. I enjoyed your metas and theories. Uta being UK was my favorite TG theory of yours. Which looks more as if it was dropped plot over you being wrong. I mean, Itori is confirmed in love with him. I honestly consider this as indirect « confirmation » to it as such considering her speech in chapter 148. Still, thank you. I look forward to more of your posts in future with Black Butler and Berserk.

Awww ❤ ❤ ❤ Thank you for the very sweet message Anon-chan!

I also really love the Uta = OEK theory, in all its many versions actually. 😀 And I agree with you, I am choosing to see this as being unanswered rather than denied, especially considering that Sensei did so many artworks of Uta over the years. So I really think something was up with him and Sensei actually enjoyed the idea very much, but then… well something happened. :3

It’s not the only theory that was left unanswered, without mentioning all the biology-related questions I still have, but I’ll keep having my opinion on these topics as headcanons. :))

OMG good point about Itori’s feelings though! I explained to another Anon why I thought these were likely to exist way before the last chapter surprinsingly confirmed it, but you are 100% accurate…

It’s definitely some kind of confirmation to all these Uta theories! Ahh, thank you for sharing it with me Anon, it totally makes my day!! 😀

Honestly if Sensei ever decides to make a spin-off about 100 years ago (to answer about the Washuu family…

image

or even the Clowns and ghoul biology in general), I’ll be here. 🙂 I hope you’ll join me if this happens, Anon!

As for Kuroshitsuji and Berserk, no worries I’ll be there. 🙂 Don’t hesitate to pass by to chat or if you’ve got anything on your mind. I have a Berserk post coming up that I wanted to do for a long time but since it’s kinda a crack theory I’ve refrained from writing it till now. xD

Thanks again for passing by, for the nice words and sharing your thoughts Anon! ^3^ I really appreciate it and I hope we’ll discuss more in the future! ❤

Have a lovely day!

Hey Anon! Thanks, I’m glad so many people agree that this is a cool theory, haha! ^3^ (it may not be a theory anymore tho’, thanks Itori and Anon above)

I don’t think you’re in denial, in fact I agree with what @sentrakk proposed here, in the sense that another addition to the story remains possible, due to a lot of plot threads being left hanging (like the Uta theories for example).

I just am not sure that it should be a sequel is all, because Kaneki’s story is indeed over and it could be a difficult read if Sensei were to keep pushing in this direction. Of course, it could still be a sequel with a different protagonist: if that’s the case, I’d personally be interested in Kurona’s travels, Takizawa or even where Akira and Amon possibly left.

More than anything though, if we were to argue that Sensei might one day decide to add another part to his story, personally I’d like a prequel (kinda like he did with TG: Jack & Arima), mostly because going back to 100 years ago would give us a lot of answers about all the relevant topics I was super fond of (they’re mentioned above). xD

Focusing on world building is one thing I particularly like in complex series: it’s something that Sensei tried to do with ghoul biology, the Washuus, V, the sunlit garden, sunlit society, the mention of other countries besides Japan… but in the end, just like many other parts, Sensei couldn’t finish what he started.

I don’t blame him and I’m not bitter, because I could sense it coming for a while even if I would have loved to be proved wrong, but at some point between the complex world building and Kaneki’s own complex story, I think Sensei just got tired, which is why :Re ended the way it did.

So in my opinion, the way he finished :Re definitely left some room for a possible addition (prequel, side story, sequel) if one day he decides to tackle this again. This day might never come, but the possibility does exist.

I hope it helps. :)) Have a lovely day Anon!

Well I fucking knew it x)))

Hi! Ah, it was a hunch, but it was fueled by two different explanations. 🙂

The first one was that, considering all the (or related to the) old oek!Uta theories, since Itori was the one who introduced us rather seriously to the concept of hybrids, I thought that maybe she was supposed to be a parallel to Touka from the moment we learnt about Touka’s pregnancy.

image
image

And no matter what my take on her backstory was (since I had different ideas), the parallel to Touka did seem likely to me and so I imagined that maybe she felt something towards Uta (seeing what she said in ch148 too). Of course that didn’t have to mean Uta felt the same as Kaneki or anything, but just that the possibility of Itori’s feelings did exist.

The second explanation happened when I realized Sensei would probably never target the matter of the Clowns’ agency after ch171 was released.

image

However, in that case Itori being friends with both Uta and Yomo but following Uta around (being a Clown, saving Yomo for him in the 24th ward, their shared past in the 4th ward before they met Yomo, etc) hinted rather clearly (for me) that there could be more than friendship for her.

That’s why I thought it made sense, even if I didn’t really expect it to ever be addressed, so that part of the last chapter in particular was a very good surprise!

I hope it answers your question, have a nice day Anon!

Furuta

Gosh, not only did I just notice this, but I find that the words of both Itori and Nico, who are the only two Clowns we didn’t see fighting this time, are particularly meaningful to the parallel between the other Clowns.

  • Itori said…

– Hey,
there are only two ways for people to live.
To live beautifully, or to live for beautiful people.

– Is that so.
Then, what about people who do neither?

– My, that is simple.
They become mad and die.

;_; my poor Clowns

midnight-in-town:

Sooo very predictable coming from me but…. who’s “the second crown”?

There are still two unidentified OEGs in the timeline before Eto after all, so could it be in relation to that, and in that case since Donato was the first crown, could it mean that he was the first OEG/the One Eyed Washuu?

Or could he be talking about Uta who gave him the Crown mask in ch84 (which would mean that Uta “ruled" the Clowns before he did and was the second crown)?

image

Or was it maybe about Furuta, who put him in charge of the Clowns after ch98?

image

It seems hard to think that he could be talking about Roma since according to her in ch135 no one knew she was the founder, and besides, I think there is a difference between “founder” and “crown(s)”.

However, I have always wondered about that double page from ch98 (just above): Furuta who just became the Washuu King, was surrounded by V, Donato and Uta.

We know V is still in the game and now we found out that Donato was “being given the reigns of the Clowns from the second crown”, so… since Uta was also present alongside Furuta in ch98, could it mean that he was the second crown in charge until this moment precisely??? After all, Itori said:

image

At the same time, Nico is wayyy too much in the background (kinda like Itori) and their reaction just now…

image

…was rather interesting, unless it’s just supposed to be a throwback to TG ch163 (when they tried to stop Yamori because “a mother/parent should never be killed in front of their child”, it could apply here since Donato was dying in front of Amon…)?

Any thought? ‘Cause I’m lost. ;_;

okay so I wasn’t going to post about it, but then Spooky-chan said that she noticed too SO IMMA SHARE WITH Y’ALL

What if Nico is actually the first OEK/the One Eyed Washuu/the Nagaraj? Yeah basically, after Uta, Itori, Donato, it’s finally their turn to become a suspect!

image
image

l o o k, their kagune is similar to Dragon’s kakuja?

image
image

Besidesssss…

image

and

image
image
image

BTW, I’m aware Nico actually showed two kakugan during the Aogiri arc, buuuut so did Urie, Saiko and Hajime who are supposed to be similar to OEGs (without mentioning Kaneki whose kakugan didn’t even seem to activate at the end of the new chapter despite him getting ready to fight) so…. I’m not sure it’s to be taken as a hint that they can’t be a OEG, you know what I mean?

I love all the Clowns so I don’t care either way who’s the Chosen One, but CAN SENSEI JUST TELL US ALREADY

image

@super-peace-fufu-boy I totally want to facepalm myself right now xD because you’re absolutely right! Since I initially was thinking about whether “second crown” could be an allusion to the timeline and the two OEGs before Eto or not, I blanked on this and didn’t consider there might be more than just two “crowns”.

But you’re spot on! From the way Donato put it, it does seem like he’s in fact the third Clowns’ leader. The question now is, who are the previous two? Roma and Furuta? Because Roma is the founder and she died at 51 years old, the gang can’t be older than 40 years max…

At the same time, Roma said no one knew she was the founder so… idk about her being the first leader?

One “crown” before Donato could be the one who was in charge during the Clowns’ annihilation against Arima, Houji and Hirako (approximately ten/twelve years ago, around the time Uta and Yomo became friends)…

image
image

And if they’re not the same person, then the second "crown” probably was the one who led the Clowns during TG and :Re up until Donato was freed.
This one could either

be

Uta (from ch143 & he gave the Crown mask to Donato) or Furuta (Uta mentioning a boss in :Re ch31.5 & the last pages of ch98), I think?

Ah gosh, I can’t wait to find out. xD Thanks for pointing my mistake out, it’s my bad! ^3^
