I mean maybe it’s not even an AU but anyway that’s not the point
Truth is that it wouldn’t change much: Dee would still eat a lot, would still be a grumpy tsundere, would still be German but instead of grumbling “like father like son” all the time, he’d say “like mother, like daughter” with a HUGE thumbs up in Lizzie’s direction.
…like mother, like daughter having long hair (reaching their lower back, if not below her hips for Frances, when it’s down) and wearing it in ponytail style! 😀
I retraced the back of Claudia’s ponytail under read more if anyone doesn’t see it (I initially thought she had her hair down)
I like the ponytail hair style in Kuro and heyyy look…
Who else wants to bet that when Frances lets her hair down it’s just as wavy/softly curled as Claudia’s was?
Well, we see a single small curl when she wears her hair normally.
And even if her hair isn’t naturally curly, wearing it up in that bun all the time will give it a bit of a wave when it’s let down. So probably!
Yeah! I was just thinking about it since Lizzy doesn’t seem to have completely inherited the trait and chooses to style her hair as very curly, instead…
And Yana always talks about how she keeps the mother in mind for boys and the father in mind for girls, but they aren’t 100% copies because we see Ciel (or the twins really) with a hair color that leans more towards Vincent’s with facial features that lean more towards Rachel’s.
So it’d be kinda neat if Frances inherited her mum’s curly hair whereas Vincent didn’t to balance it out.
Oh no what if Lizzy trained her hair into curls to be more like her mom D:
:’ ) I’m in the mindset that Lizzie loves and really looks up to her mom, so that would make a lot of sense to me.
If I may add onto this? 🙂 First, I, too, think that Frances’ hair might be wavy:
Because even when the hair is up in a tight bun, it’s as if you still can see its wavy tendency (not sure of the right word to use here ^^”).
Just my two cents, but I think it’s very probable that Lizzy’s hair is wavy now after curling it for most of her life. She probably had natural straight hair when she was young, but compared to pictures of her hair down now, you can see how wavy, it’s become.
(Book of Circus which technically anime canon, I know)
(a drawing that Yana did with an extreme likeness to Lizzy but Yana didn’t state so)
(an official illustration done by Yana with Lizzy’s usual curls out)
All in all, I think Elizabeth’s hair is natural wavy, which is great if that was her goal in the first place!°˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
Imagine Vincent talking about grandpa!UT to the twins like
Twins: Papa! Papa! Tell us about our grandfather!
Vincent: *sigh* well one time your grandma Cloudia was moody and your grandpa told her to ‘stop looking so cloudy 😉 ’ and she skewered him with like 10 swords
(if I had actual time on my hands I would have fanfiction’d it better but heh I don’t have that time)
So for as long as the fag system held out for the two of them, Diedrich could never say that he saw Vincent doing anything out of the ordinary at Weston during that time.
Oh, of course, Vincent was more of a slacker for prefect’s duty than Dee was but other than that, nothing particularly stood out to Dee, besides the young Earl being incredibly annoying. …And also the abnormal amount of letters he received from time to time.
Worst thing about these letters though, the first and only time Dee did take a look at them and noticed the peculiarity, was that either they were in a language he couldn’t decipher, or this was no real language at all and that proved to be very strange.
“These are from my sister”, Vincent answered that first and only time he noticed that Dee was acting weird about the letters he received, “we speak in code, so that bad and uptight German fags like you won’t be able to read the discussions we share as siblings.“
Obviously, Dee was offended, as with everything when it came to that annoying Phantomhive prick, so he decided to never let curiosity get the better of him with these letters and he never asked again.
[The truth behind these letters? Vincent had become the Watchdog from the moment his mother had died, but acting as the Watchdog from Weston was complicated because he couldn’t ditch the school and play hooky without people getting curious. And if he could somehow manage until his last year, becoming a prefect had rendered the task even more difficult, which is why Frances was ensuring that work was done as per Queen Victoria’s wishes, the siblings exchanging letters in code reporting of Frances’ and Tanaka’s progress for the investigations.]
Back to Dee, proud as he was, he never asked again about these letters, but the end of the year drew near and they finally graduated (which didn’t mean that his position of a fag was over with, as opposed to everyone else and for his greatest misery), and that’s when Phantomhive offered to take the train for a little trip “as a graduation’s present”.
Needless to say that the little trip was actually about finishing the Queen’s last request at the time, through stopping a terrorist group that was supposed to blow up important political figures who were taking the same train as Vincent and Dee.
That’s how Dee finally understood what those letters were all about, amidst gunshots, blood, swords, knives, screaming and Phantomhive’s Japanese butler. Obviously, he vomitted and yelled for a long time at Phantomhive after they barely escaped from this train alive and he ended up having to sit down when he realized that the younger man who fought alongside Tanaka was actually Phantomhive’s sister in disguise.
(ง •̀_•́)ง Welcome to the Evil Nobles, Dee! (ง •̀_•́)ง
Excellent question, Anon! 🙂 I’ve thought about this subject a lot, and regardless of whether or not UT is Cedric and regardless of whether or not UT and Claudia had a romantic relationship, I headcanon that if they did it’d go something like this:
I think UT was the one to first fall head-over-heels with Claudia. She would have been an exceptionally strong woman (especially for the time period) in terms of personality as well as probably a skilled swordswoman. I think Frances and especially Lizzy inherited that particular talent from her. Couple that with the fact that Yana has said she goes by the ‘boys take after their mothers’ by appearance, and you can imagine she had the same magnetic beauty and charm that Vincent possessed. Quite the killer combination. I see her as part femme fatale and part action girlwithout the typically scantily clad stereotype.
The banter between them was probably fast and witty. Claudia was the first human to successfully make Undertaker laugh hard since he’d become a reaper with her clever comebacks.
There’s a likelihood that Claudia was attracted to him initially, but Undertaker had to work hard to build up her trust in him. She tested his devotion constantly early on by meeting with bachelors who’d make potential suitors. (And if you see him as not being Cedric, she eventually married one of them).
There was no real ‘giving in’ by one or the other, just a culmination of two strong personalities meeting at the center like a thunderstorm.
I don’t see their relationship as being 100% healthy or ‘non-problematic’. There were arguments and fights, though Claudia won most of them.
But as fearsome as she often was and often said it was ridiculous for a man like him to wear hair as long as he did, sometimes in private Claudia would let a softer side show. She’d brush the long mess out, comb her hands through it and sometimes style it for him.
Likewise, Undertaker loved to cuddle her despite her protests of him being ‘overly affectionate’ and ‘little better than a petticoat, yourself’. If he was lucky enough for her to fall asleep on or next to him, he’d lay awake memorizing her breaths, the scent of her perfume and her warm weight, fingers traveling lightly along her spine to count out each beautiful vertebrae.
As for any kinky headcanons… well, not to be too predictable but I think Claudia was one of those types who could step on you and you’d be okay with it. XD She wasn’t a shrinking violet or traditional woman by any means so uhm, yeah. Let your imagination run wild.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy these! Thanks for your ask and have a good night. 🙂
…because both started working for the P family when Claudia was the Watchdog.
=> Before our!Ciel came back, Tanaka wanted to disembowel himself after what happened 4 years ago because he felt terrible for failing his master and letting him and his family die.
However since disembowelment still is suicide, UT slapped the sword out of his reach before he could do it and angrily told him that killing himself wouldn’t help paying for his failure, because he knows what Shinigami slavery is like.
He might have, indeed, watched her grow up and blossom into a lovely young woman. And I’ve often wondered that, myself, about his constant right-hand braid….
Friendly reminder that, assuming that Tanaka is around 80 years old in 1889 and that he joined the Phantomhive household when Vincent was still young, it means that the one who convinced an incredibly skilled Japanese samurai/mercenary/warrior…
to join the Phantomhive household was:
Vincent’s predecessor
who was a noble lady from high society during the 19th century
and who was probably half younger than our Tanaka
So, yeh, I know not everyone has to be excited about Claudia but she seemed so badass I can’t handle it, even without us knowing anything significant about her…!
(*≧∀≦*)
Someone talk to me about Claudia, I’m so hype for no reason!!
Haha, nice thought!
Actually, I had this headcanon that if she went to Japan then maybe she was pretending to be a guy, in order to have less trouble investigating, being left alone or explaining why she knew how to fight…
(it’s a family thing remember: watchdogs cross-dress when they investigate xD), but yeah maybe she ended up wearing a kimono or bringing one home as a souvenir. :))
