GUYS FOR REAL DOESN’T THIS REMIND YOU OF SOMETHING?!

image

I AM SCREAMINGGGGGGGG

So I got a few questions over the last few months about if demons are really the only ones who can trick humans with the “dead people coming back” lie (when UT is doing it too literally with the BD project) and it took me a long time, but…

image

here is the panel I was talking about!

So yeah, it really looks like only demons can do that and it doesn’t even work on Shinigamis who can see through that hability of theirs (just like Shinigamis can see through their human disguise no problem).

That means that the probability for Brown to be a demon (angel?) still seems higher than for him to be a Shinigami, since he seems to be doing that with Victoria, in my opinion.

As for the sunglasses, I spoke about this before, but maybe they are a double feint (Sensei making us think Brown is hiding Shinigami eyes beneath it, like UT with his bangs, when nope) and Victoria is just enjoying when he’s wearing them so he constantly does or something. xD

Ciel & the servants allying with Grell and Othello?

Hear me out, because Ciel and his servants can’t go back to the Phantomhive mansion (real!Ciel is there), they can’t go live at the Midford mansion (not after the latest development), the townhouse in London was attacked + it’s not exactly a good hideout, Soma is at Sieglinde’s and I doubt that Ciel wants to involve them more.

So where are they going to go and mostly how are they going to counterattack (Frances’ advice: it’s always easier when your opponent makes the first move)?

I made a small post before on which readers left a lot of cool ideas, like going to Lau’s opium den (@isammy7936 and @frederickabberline) or asking Diedrich for help (@my-lady-no-further) and, while I love those ideas (let’s get more people involved), there are other characters from this arc who also need to stop the undead twin + UT duo…

image

so I’d say a team-up with them first would make more sense for now, at least if we ever hope to see this arc move closer to its end. xD

Grell can’t face UT on their own after all, since UT won against Grell + Ronald + Seb during the Campania arc, which is probably why Grell and Othello ended up leaving as soon as Ciel and Seb were arrested by Scotland Yard.

image
image

Seeing as Seb & Ciel probably want the same as Othello & Grell though, either side could easily vouch for an alliance in order to stop UT’s BD project and the twin’s plan. Besides, at least the Shinigamis know the twin is undead and they have no reason to support his return.

The second point that’s making me think this idea could be the next development is…

image

what Othello said the first time he met Ciel: “you have a familiar face”.

Considering that Othello didn’t comment anymore about this upon seeing the twins together a few chapters ago, I am thinking it never was about real!Ciel at all, but rather possibly about another Phantomhive he met 50 years ago (the last time he came to the human world), which is to say Claudia Phantomhive, one of our main mysteries.

The twins do look like Vincent a lot and Sensei said that Vincent took a lot after Claudia, so Othello could have been reminded of Claudia when he saw Ciel (50 years ago she’d have been ~10 y/o and he’s almost 14).

Furthermore, if we’re assuming that Othello couldn’t remember who Ciel reminded him of exactly in ch125, after meeting with UT and seeing the twins with him, there is a good chance his memory was jogged (maybe that was even the whole point of making the Shinigamis show up at the manor despite them not doing anything before leaving).

And why it might be important is because one way to get to UT could be through confronting him about his link to Claudia…

image
image

especially since he seems rather sensitive on the subject [x][x] and she could be one objective of his BD project (remember how he cried about Vincent, ch105?).

Anyway, no matter if this what happens or not (if Claudia gets mentioned or not, I mean I’d looove that but let’s not hope too much), Othello just sharing stuff about UT from 50 years ago could be useful to Ciel (since UT has an emotional connection to the Phantomhive family) and, in return, I guess Ciel could lend Sebastian to the Shinigamis to try and take UT down.

Besides, don’t we know that the Shinigamis are understaffed? xD

So I’m all for Will as reinforcement (especially since Will was investigating about UT in Germany), but somehow I can see this happening during the final part of the arc (to take UT away, he’s done enough), just not right now.

IDK but considering that Shinigamis are everywhere in Kuro’s arcs, it’s interesting that we never had a temporary common front before between them and Ciel & Seb (it didn’t even happen in the Campania arc because Seb was fighting against Grell and Ronald too).

It certainly happened in the anime (with Grell too), so for the ones who are fond of parallels with the anime, this could be an opportunity to see it in the manga. 🙂

Side note: we don’t know if Alexis and real!Ciel talked about “the truth” yet, but I’m also still vouching for more investigation by Edward who might hopefully remember about Weston and the undead students & vice principal.

(this arc is just never-ending lmao xDD)

do you think shinigamis in kuroshitsuji can have sex with humans?

Hey Anon! And yep, from the moment a demon who shape-shifted into idk how many animals…

image

can have intercourse with humans

image

then Shinigamis who originally are humans should be able to as well. 🙂

As for the “but they’re dead” part, well yeah, but we don’t know exactly what their condition is (I’ll elaborate below) and furthermore, they have primary needs like sleeping and eating so why not other needs?

It’s kinda illustrated by Grell having the hots for several guys so far or even Ronald with most women actually, so to me it seems Shinigamis can feel attraction towards humans, which means they can surely be aroused and seek physical intimacy as a result.

Being able to have sex =/= being able to have kids: that’s a different debate.

Just in case you were asking with this in mind though, I want to precise that  personally I think it’s possible for Shinigamis to have kids (so for example, I believe that the UT = Cedric theory is a possibility) because the Shinigamis aren’t exactly “dead”, the way final death is meant to be in Kuroshitsuji.

image

A human being is defined by two parts: their cinematic record and their soul. When they die, the CR is stopped by Shinigamis and to remain in the body, while the soul is collected. That’s what it means to be dead in Kuroshitsuji.

Now, if you look at UT’s bizarre dolls that are basically undead: they have no soul (because it was collected when they died and UT can’t make one from scratch), but they have edited cinematic records which is what makes the corpse mistakenly think it’s still alive.

As for Shinigamis, well that’s the thing: we know they killed themselves so they should be dead…

image
image

but it seems they still have their soul and an unstopped cinematic record (otherwise how could they still move, think and feel?), in spite of their peculiar eyes or their ability to teleport, amongst other supernatural things.

Furthermore…

image
image

…clearly they can actually die for real again if they’re hit by a death scythe (a death scythe being used to stop a CR and collect the soul, which is why I think they still have both).

Becoming a Shinigami is a punishment to humans who took their own life so maybe they’re not exactly “dead”. Maybe, similarly to how some humans can be “judged worthy to keep on living” by Shinigamis when they’re fated to die, Shinigamis are special cases of “(not really) dead people”.

All that to say, if they’re not exactly dead, then why wouldn’t they be able to have kids? Don’t get me wrong, we know they have superiors who are most likely scaring the shit out of them and as such, rules to follow were mentioned like…

image

…because Shinigamis are supposed to be “neutral between Gods and humans”, meaning they’re not supposed to be meddling with humans and have kids with them (or with other Shinigamis I suppose).

As far as UT is concerned though, clearly he fails at being a Shinigami, so him having kids (the UT = Cedric theory) would just be one more broken rule to add to his record. No biggie.

TL;DR yes, Shinigamis can most likely have sex with humans and with other Shinigamis.

And from the moment they’re scared to die if stabbed by a death scythe, they might not be exactly dead the way other humans who don’t kill themselves are dead, so they might be able to have kids with humans or other Shinigamis, even though it is very probably 100% forbidden (since they are forbidden from meddling with life, death and humans).

I hope it answers your question Anon, sorry for the length! As with everything, it’s just my opinion, no one has to agree!

Have a nice day. :))

Excuse me?

“Care should be taken” ? Pardon?

Also, Grelle, my love, your handwriting is so messy ;-;

I noticed this as well…It might also say ‘Care shall be taken’. Looks like it could be ‘shall’ or ‘should’. Either way, it’s fascinating… Anytime Yana writes something in the manga in English, we ought to pay attention…

First of all, isn’t care taken with every soul that the Shinigami reap? For some reason, Grelle felt the need to make a note in Agni’s file, even though she says “Remarks – Nothing in particular”. If care is taken with every soul reaped, perhaps the note means extra care should be taken with this soul in particular? At first I thought maybe Agni wasn’t on the To-Die List, but since Grelle seemed to know in advance that she’d be ‘seeing them again soon’ in the chapter where she meets Our Ciel and Sebastian in the lab, I don’t think that’s the case.

It could be related to the fact that one of the people who attacked Agni is a Bizarre Doll made by a rogue reaper…or that the other attacker (Knife Dude) is supernatural in some way, or both. The note could mean that Agni’s death is a part of the ongoing investigation by the reapers of Undertaker and his actions, since Agni’s death is a direct consequence of those actions.

Thoughts?

What I personally thought is that Agni is related to our Ciel, who is related to Undertaker. As the shinigami (Grelle included) know that Undertaker is the one who’s ‘reviving the dead’, maybe they feel the need to deal with souls that are related to UT a bit more carefully (in case… you know, UT might get any funny ideas). It definitely has to be a clue for something, I think.

That makes a lot of sense. I agree.

One thing that bothers me about the cliffhanger: how and why did Grell and Othello end up at the Phantomhive manor?

Initially I thought that maybe the death list indicated yet another soul to collect in the Phantomhive manor (after Agni ;_;), but then again, from the way Othello speaks, it’s implied that their reason for being here has to do with tracking UT.
So the question is, if that’s the case, how did they track UT in the first place?

  • Did they ask Bravat/did Bravat immediately sell him out?

Not impossible to consider, since we know absolutely nothing about the link between Bravat and the Undertaker in the first place.
We don’t even know if UT recruited Bravat as a pawn, or if Bravat’s sect and UT joined for the sake of a common experiment for the count of another organization (like the Osiris company for example), etc.

However, real!Ciel =  lord Sirius = the blue star and it seems Bravat is rather fond of him and the other star lords in a fanatical way so…

image

I doubt Bravat would have led Shinigamis right to real!Ciel since he’s an unauthorized BD and he took great care of them till now.

  • Same idea but with Lizzie?

Mostly because we don’t know what Othello and Grell did between collecting Agni’s soul and showing up to the manor + because we don’t know where Lizzie is at the moment, even if Paula said that apparently she went to be by real!Ciel’s side (so she should be at the manor or arriving soon in theory?).

Just think about it, the Shinigamis investigated the Sphere music hall (maybe more than once?) so they could have stumbled upon each other and Lizzie could have sold UT out, especially since…

image

her only reason for staying at the Sphere music hall seemed to have to do with trying to “save real!Ciel” (instead of being mad at our!Ciel I mean), whatever this is supposed to imply.

For example, if she’s talking about not having the same blood type, then it’s mostly irrelevant. However if she’s talking about trying to rescue real!Ciel from the blue sect because she’s a clever girl, then she could have noticed the potential threat caused by UT and could have given his whereabouts to the Shinigamis recently if she met them.

It’s a bit wonky considering the timeline (since we’re still on the same day of Agni’s death and Ed going to fetch Paula) so not the most likely, but I still wanted to mention it.

  • Othello figured it out?

One way or another since he’s clever, but possibly even more easily if we remember this part from ch125:

image

Because Ciel possibly looks like 4 people: Vincent, Rachel, possibly Claudia and, of course, his twin brother

So far I had considered the possibility of Claudia the most because of “50 years ago” but, again, since Othello and Grell investigated the Sphere music hall, for all we know Othello possibly stumbled upon the 4 star lords in their room.

So, imagine this: at some point Othello quickly saw the twin in the Sphere music hall, but since he’s an advanced BD or for whatever other reason, he didn’t think a lot about it. Then Othello met Ciel in Bath in ch125 and was striken by the resemblance.

Afterwards, all he had to do was to ask Grell about who Ciel was, maybe check the Shinigami files about Ciel’s family (the ones that Sascha and Ludgar had for example) and notice that Ciel had a twin brother who supposedly died 4 years ago.

And then, once they were done with collecting Agni’s soul and maybe rechecking the Sphere music hall to find the twin (but he wasn’t there), Othello convinced Grell to head to the Phantomhive manor to possibly catch the twin & whoever brought him back.

  • Plot convenience?

More often than not, it can be a thing in the story and in that case there is no need for an explanation.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Guess we’ll see next month!! Let me know if you have other ideas. 🙂

EDIT: the more I think about your idea @kurorealciel

the more I like it. Yeah they could have tailed real!Ciel and the guy who killed Agni after Agni’s death. :))

The death scythe can slice right through dimensions

I was looking through ch10 to answer someone and I stumbled upon this, which I had completely forgotten.
So actually, I’d love to know more about that in the plot since it was addressed only once????? Because I bet it could

maybe

answer some of our questions…

Is that why Shinigamis have this odd relation to time and belongings from our time era when the timeline covers the 19th century? Or why they can teleport?

Sensei, answers soon please~~!
