And it’s not a surprise that Ciel won’t admit Soma as a friend and never really thought of it, though that doesn’t mean Ciel never unconsciously saw him in a friendly light. Ciel already banned the thought of making friends, so the fact that he did make friends would never register. Though I agree he is becoming more cold about people’s lives, it’s normal based on what’s been happening so far. I really hope that this is building up to Lizzy breaking Ciel’s shell to see his true feeling. 2/2

I agree. I think he’s been more or less the same since the Weston arc. And it’s certainly not the first time he’s indirectly killed people lol. You’re right in that it’s the first time another character’s so directly called him out on it, since either it’s usually by someone he’s not “close” to (like Arthur), nobody at all, or Sebastian as a joke. 

So at least this chapter provided a little drama on that part.

I think Ciel unconsciously likes Soma too; he just doesn’t want to lol. On the outside, he likes pretending he cares about nothing except revenge (and we know that’s not completely true). In my opinion, if Ciel really gave no shits about Soma, he wouldn’t have told Agni he didn’t consider Soma a friend, that he doesn’t want useless people around, etc.

He should have lied or something and continued to use Soma/Agni as his pawns until he got them killed, but he owned up to it and told basically told them to fuck off and expect nothing from him. Now Agni at least has the choice of keeping Soma from Ciel and stopping him from getting hurt- Ciel must know this too.

That’s why I can’t wait to see Lizzie and Ciel reunite- she’s definitely the only one who can break him down at this point. About time they confronted each other.
