I mean we already saw her give her in character reasoning why she did it.
In general Kaneki for the most part never really gets communicated to him how the other people who watch him continually suffer and sacrifice himself for their sake feel. In general that’s the caveat of Kaneki’s “I’ll be the one who hurts instead of hurting others’ mentality, because there are people who care about him who don’t want to see him hurt. Therefore they end up hurting by having to watch him hurt regardless.
Touka is also bad at communicating her emotions for the most part. I’m not sure if she’s ever directly said or expressed how the three years of waiting, or the fact that when she met Kaneki again he was about to kill himself all over again felt to her.
We’ve only ever seen her hold herself to a selfless standard or try to be positive about it.
So it was likely just an attempt at communicating her more negative emotions for Kaneki. “Ahh, I feel much better now.” It was of course a bad attempt, but an attempt nonetheless.
mmmm MMMMMMMM I think in some ways yes, because its LONG overdue Kaneki and Amon working together. Amon was first introduced to the shady shit in the CCG by Eto with the Sphinx liquid and was thrown right into the middle of it when Aogiri kidnapped him and turned him into a half ghoul. His ‘rebellion’ (is that the right word?) against the CCG has been set up for quite some time so I’m highly anticipating where Amon’s character goes from here.
Eto’s interest in Amon is immediately suspicious considering how well she’s planned for the future OEK and manipulated… basically the whole of Tokyo, if not Japan, to set it all up. I know we as a fandom talk about Amon being a secondary candidate for Eto’s OEK, but I think it’s also worth thinking about the possibility she wanted Amon and the OEK to work together. With all of Eto’s plans to influence the public through her King Bilegyr book and Takatsuki Sen’s fame, Amon could also turn out to be a HUGE tool for influence within the CCG- something that Eto wouldn’t be able to have too much sway over herself.
Amon- well respected, overall adored by his peers, a rising star in the CCG, sacrificed himself during the Anteiku Raid for his allies. The CCG finding out what happened to him is gonna rock the boat for sure. Amon working with the OEK even moreso. As much as I love Seidou, killing Investigators and acting like the murderous animal that most humans think ghouls are really didn’t do him any favours in gathering sympathy for his situation from the CCG. Amon on the other hand doesn’t have those same barriers as (from what we know so far at least) ate ghouls rather than humans.
I think though it really depends on how much Amon and Kaneki are wanting the same thing for the future. Last time we spoke to a coherent Amon, he hadn’t wholly accepted the fact he was part ghoul. And Kakuja Amon mentioning Mado, Donato and exterminating ghouls
shows that he’s still conflicted, especially considering he hasn’t had a chance to move on from Mado’s death and the guilt that he couldn’t save him.
Kaneki’s interference stopped Amon from reaching Mado in time back in the Rabbit Arc, just like Amon stood in the way of Kaneki reaching the Manager in the Anteiku Raid. I’m hoping in their conversation in the upcoming chapters that they will be able to come to an understanding but it really depends on how it goes and whether their goals align. No matter how desperate each of them were to speak to the other, the look they gave each other last chapter was pretty intense. Akira is in the same boat with Hinami and Rabbit with Goat too.
I went a bit off track (oops) but I think eventually Amon and Kaneki will work together although I’m looking forward to a bit of angst and tension before that
What did the P4 hope to achieve by ‘hiring’ or getting the help of the Aurora Society and UT? If Redmond got the idea to send for them to help out with their murdered students and deputy headmaster problem, then it stands to reason that he (and by extension the rest of the P4) knew what they would be doing with the bodies.
As I and others have said before, it’s more than likely that Derrick’s body, and possibly the others, were hidden away at Purple House for safe-keeping. It would explain Violet’s irrational outburst preventing others from entering the building (when it was ON FIRE!).
Going with the idea that the P4 hired the AS and UT to bring their murdered victims back to life and carry on as if nothing happened (why else?) it begs the question why they were so utterly horrified when BD Derrick made his debut at the tea party.
Were they not expecting him to be fully awakened so soon? Where they told by UT to bide their time until he was ready, only for the doll to be brought out prematurely? The way Greenhill reacts one would be forgiven for thinking that he never expected Derrick to be walking around like this at all, let alone talking about tea.
Of course, the P4 wanted to clear their consciences and desperately try to undo their terrible deed by bringing their victims back from the dead. But this, I think, is yet another example of just how foolish they are. All they had to do was burn or bury the body and get rid of the evidence (burn the cricket bat if you have to) and so long as Greenhill kept his mouth shut, Weston nor anyone else would be any the wiser that a brutal mass murder took place.
Now, I know that the P4 going overboard in an attempt to right their own wrongs is well within their personalities, but still. Their first priority was Weston. if they cared so much about their own consciences they wouldn’t have done what they did in the first place. The remaining three P4 were quite willing to raise the bloodied bat high and smash it down onto the dead Arden’s head. They all had blood on their hands, that would not change even if they brought Derrick back. All they needed to do to keep beloved Weston safe was dispose of the evidence – the witnesses were all dead, and the weapon could be easily disposed of too.
So where they simply delusional, trying to have their cake and eat it, or was this just Yana’s way of getting UT and the AS, and by extension Ciel, into the plot?
