Well, going by Mephisto’s irritated and quickly swept away comment in chapter 99…

All the times he DID show Yukio the past ended up biting him in the ass in some way or another.

(General fandom theory is that Mephisto can either see all of time simultaneously, or is able to rewind time and take a different route, like starting a game from a safe point -> Which is what I’m going with, because if he always knew exactly what was going to happen he’d be way overpowered and also bored out of his mind.)

Which adds an extra layer to his sadistic delight in chapter 94:

(“No I don’t have time for this” + walking out on stage = “I told you like twelve times already and every time you fucked shit up so screw you, I’m going to try for a different ending. Menu… save game… Let’s see what happens. LEEEEROYY JEEENKIIIINS”)

And what does Yukio? Aims a gun at Meph, probably would have shot him if someone else didn’t beat him to it, then has a total breakdown, shoots his brother, and runs off to the Illuminati.

Shiro knew his kids well~ And so does Meph.
