I can totally see Ciel in a random conversation with Elizabeth briefly slipping that Edward and Cheslock act like an old married couple.
Next thing that happens: Lizzie’s super shocked. She goes straight home and assures Edward that she will love him forever no matter who he loves. Edward is confused.
Cheslock comes to hang out at Midford mannor. Lizzie sets stuff up. Edward and Cheslock get even more confused…and slightly awkward.
Soma catches wind of this as he is Edward’s friend. He mentions it to Ciel. Ciel laughs his ass off and explains to the confused Soma.
Soma scolds him about spreading unconfirmed rumors. He demands to resolve the matter. Ciel practically begs to be the one to tell Edward his sister thinks he’s gay.
Edward is very upset about the matter. It’s unsure whether it is because the rumor was right or wrong. Lizzie is confused too, she confronts Ciel. Ciel explains things to her properly.
Somewhere deep inside of Ciel, hidden behind heavy walls, part of him wants to stay alive to have many more fun conversations with Elizabeth. Talking to Elizabeth feels kind of nice to Ciel.
I love the fact that Edward was so determined to perfect his performance in rehearsals that he literally ran Clayton ragged by insisting they practice over and over until Cheslock finally said: “Before Clayton keels over, let’s stop now”.
Dude, the violin is what makes the P5 better than the S4. I mean, it’s an electric one…
And besides, it’s in the hands of Cheslock, a man who has serious skills
So do you see what it means for this violin? It just simply makes the world go round, it just rocks the hell out of everything. [x] [x]
All hail the violin, they should have called themselves the Phantom Six.
I’m a flute player and classical pianist myself, so no, the concept of rocking out is not something I understand. Though Cheslock is probably the most badass violinist EVER.
There are obviously different ways of rocking out with instruments, whether you play classical, contemporain, jazz or rock with them, it’s just a matter of taste at the end (and I’m a pianist too, playing mainly classical although sometimes contemporain). 🙂
I personally believe classical pieces have a way to rock things their own way otherwise they would have been forgotten and no one would play them anymore. And besides, there are some classical pieces that are just beyond wonder and you can’t stop shivering when listening to them. ^_^
All that to say, I was basically just making a joke lol but still, I believe all instruments have the actual power to play wonderful classical pieces written for them centuries ago and to rock things out, but that’s indeed mainly depending on the musician and/or your own tastes in music.
But Cheslock is badass, so his association with the violin and the violin being shown so much just makes my day! xD
I can’t believe I never noticed that Cheslock’s violin was electric in that chapter! I’m blind honestly!!
But that is extremely bad ass. Makes me wonder if the violin was somehow customised by Sebastian using his demon powers for the occasion, customised by Cheslock himself (quite likely imo seeing as pretty much everything else about him, physically at least, is way ahead of its time), or if electric violins exist in the Kuro universe anyway but are perhaps rare and expensive as hell so only the son of a noble like Cheslock and similar could afford to own one.
(I have a feeling that this sort of question would also bring to mind questions like where did they get glow sticks from?)
Back to Cheslock, I did a bit of research and something reminded me of a theory I have regarding the stars Cheslock and Edward may be under (Vega and Polaris respectively). I believe that if anything Cheslock would be Vega because of the personality traits that fit and the fact that it is often attributed to musical types (Vega is depicted as a lyre).
Well, guess the name of one of the companies who sold electric violins in the 1930s/40s?
Edward Midford Soma Asman Kadar Joanne Harcourt Clayton Cheslock & his violin
Can we talk about the fact that it’s been almost two months since the beginning of the arc and that Edward is basically just jeopardizing his studies and his graduation from Weston (when men of the Midford family probably have been graduating from Weston for generations + he’s supposed to become his father’s heir) because Lizzie is more important to him?
And it’s probably the same for the others (although Harcourt is just in second year) since they had to make time to train with Sebastian before the Phantom five group could start, even if Ed has been out of school for longer.
I know they all have their own reasons to go along with Ciel’s plan, but still, the Starlight four killed other students from Weston and the Vice Principal and involved them into an incident with bizarre dolls, so Edward aside because Lizzie is currently in danger, none of the others should have bothered to jeopardize their own future, and yet they still did it.
That’s why I’m totally rooting for those kids ❤
Btw, this also probably means that…
…this poor lad on the right is currently the one who has to take care of everything by himself at Weston xD
