(madame red anon) Btw, there’s this cute, funny doujinshi about Levi’s previous squad during halloween (I don’t know what they’re called other than Levi’s squad). Just thought you might like it.

Hey, ahhh yes, I think I see what you’re talking about, thank you! 😉

Let’s see… Since we’re supposed to be getting more info on them later in the story (according to Yana) I don’t have a lot of things in mind…
Here you have some for Tanaka though.

  • Both Finny and Bard got a small crush on Mey Rin when they met her, however since Mey Rin really finds Sebastian to be the most handsome and her loyalty goes to Ciel, they both soon realized it would never work out.
  • Both Finny and Bard entered Mey Rin’s room by mistake at least once as she was changing clothes, and they both almost died and got deaf.
  • When it comes to using rifles, Mey Rin is better than Bard. However Bard is more experienced when it comes to using

    bigger fire weapons.

  • Finny once tried to make tea for everyone (including Ciel) by using herbs from the Garden. Obviously Sebastian punched him on the head as punishment but he also was thoroughly lectured on tea in general by Tanaka afterwards.
  • Bard still gets nightmares about battles he fought and comrades he lost from time to time. When it unintentionally wakes up Finny too, Finny makes sure to talk to him until he can get the nightmares out of his head before going back to sleep.
  • At first Bard snoring was really bothering Finny’s sleep (since they’re in the same room), so that’s why he generally drinks up an infusion made by Tanaka just before going to bed.
  • Since Mey Rin is Chinese, English was difficult for her at first, so Tanaka is the one who took time teaching her English, since himself had trouble with the language when he first arrived in England years ago.
  • Sometimes when Lau shows up (with Ran Mao) at the manor, he intentionally starts speaking Chinese with Mey Rin if he sees her, which annoys Bard greatly because he can’t understand a single word of it.
  • Just to get a revenge on Lau for Bard’s sake, one day when Lau showed up, Finny started speaking to him in German, but too bad for him, Lau speaks German too. xD

Hmmm, for a weird reason, Kuroshitsuji is the series I headcanon the most about, probably because the pace is slower than SnK and TG, and besides we constantly see the AruEreMika trio in the story, so I don’t have a lot of them (I use headcanons whenever I miss the characters, which is easier to do with Kuro as it focuses 80% of the time on just Seb and Ciel), but still, here you go 😉

  • Mikasa used to have terrible nightmares after the death of her parents for the first few months, and even if Eren wasn’t always the best at expressing comfort, there would be a lot of nights when he’d simply hold her hand as she cried.
  • The first time Armin met Mikasa, he was really excited to notice she was an Asian and, though his interest surprised her, it took some time for Mikasa to warm up to him at first.
However, since he was always kind and understanding, in the end she came to trust him rather quickly.
  • During the two years between the fall of Wall Maria and our trio joining the Military, they were more or less living in the streets with other refugees and getting food could be hard, but they would always sleep next to each other every night to keep warm.
  • Back during training days, Armin really sucked at anything physical, including running long distances and fighting against guys like Reiner, so one day, because he was threatened to be expulsed, Mikasa started helping him so he would develop a better stamina.
They didn’t tell Eren at first, but he soon found out and trained with them.
  • After Mikasa was injured during the fight against Reiner and Bertholdt (ending at ch50), Eren and Armin both stayed the whole time at her side until they joined the new Levi’s squad and left for that little house out of town.
  • Long ago Armin asked Mikasa to teach him a little bit of Japanese, seeing as her mother would sometimes speak to her in her native language, and Mikasa thinks he’s doing okay (during training days Sasha asked too but Mikasa thinks her accent is beyond terrible xD).
Eren knows only the lyrics of one small song Mikasa would sing from time to time, when she and Carla were cooking.

That’s all I have so far, I hope that’s enough! 🙂

Trivia from the Kuroshitsuji character book

Since the guidebook apparently wasn’t licensed in English and a few people were interested by trivia bits, here we go 🙂
It’s really nothing important, just small things here and there that I found worth mentioning or just nice/funny to know.

Oh and it stops at the circus arc.

About Sebastian:

  • What he apparently fears the most is a breach of the contract as well as Ciel’s death.
  • Humans don’t matter to him more than mere insects: he feels fondness and contempt for them because they suffer due to being weak.
  • When he first arrived to the manor, he used to have terrible tastes in tableware. Then he studied.
  • He was initially supposed to have a dog called “Cerberos” but Sensei made him prefer cats over dogs afterwards.
  • He loves cats because they’re capricious and unexpected.
  • What he appreciates more in cats is the quality of their fur.
  • Even demons are fascinated by what is beautiful”.

About Ciel:

  • Sensei says that, under her pen, Ciel is a very masculine character, and that deep down she thinks he’s the same as Sebastian.
  • Apparently, he masters a lot of disciplines: it goes from languages to management and history, but also violin and painting.
  • He’s particularly good at French.
  • Ciel is keeping the Phantomhive ring as a reminder of what happened to his parents and the shame he experienced during that one month.
  • The guidebook confirms Ciel was sad to lose Madam Red.
  • Ciel actually tells himself at least once a day that he wants to kill Sebastian because of things his butler says or does. (lmao)
  • When it comes to sports, Ciel is only good at horse riding.
  • The existence of a family controlling the underworld is some kind of an urban legend some people don’t believe in.”

About the servants:

  • Yana-sensei confirms she intends to show readers how all the servants came to work for Ciel. We already know about Finny and Snake, but that means we should get to know about Bard’s and Mey Rin’s pasts at some point.
  • 80% of what Bard cooks is burnt to ashes while the remaining 20% are toxic.
  • Initially Mey Rin was written to be Chinese (and you could say it was confirmed she is, thanks to ch120).
  • Mey Rin is actually only clumsy when they have guests at the manor, because she shows too much zeal. Otherwise she works properly.
  • Finny loves fried food.
  • Tanaka’s position as  servant is higher than Sebastian’s; he’s the intendant.
  • Tanaka is the perfect model of an English butler, despite him being Japanese ^^
  • Bard is the one who gets up the most early because he’s the cook, then Mey Rin and Finny get up approximately at the same time.

About Elizabeth and Frances:

  • “Elizabeth’s excessive behavior also comes from the fact that, despite being young, she worries about Ciel.”

  • Elizabeth finds her mother to be strict but also gentle and having allure. She admires her and wishes to become like her: Frances is to her an ideal mother.
  • Frances is one of the few humans capable of giving Sebastian cold sweat.
  • Frances is referred as “England’s strongest aristocrat” in the guidebook. Her “superhuman strength” is also mentioned in another paragraph, as well as the fact her strength of character is why Sebastian chose her as a role model Ciel should follow.
  • It’s explicitly said twice in the manga already but the guidebook mentions that Frances is Vincent’s younger sister.

About Angelina and Grell:

  • Grell’s interview

  • Apparently Grell started to work for Madam Red because the wish to have children is something they have in common.
  • Will is Grell’s favorite.
  • Angelina’s issues started mainly because she was overwhelmed by jealousy, on top of all that she went through (losing her husband, her baby and Vincent and Rachel’s death).
  • It’s mentioned 3 times that Sensei sees Madam Red also as a masculine character (she fits the Anego type -> a way to call the wife of a Yakuza leader or a woman being the head of her own gang).

About Lau and Ran-Mao:

  • Lau’s charm is all thanks to his indolence. Sensei added a note in the guidebook saying “maybe he’s the strongest character of the manga (laugh)”, because of scenes like the one with Sebastian and the magic trick (during the Jack the Ripper arc).
  • Lau’s character also takes the cake for most unexpected change between the very beginning of the story and the moment the guidebook was written and it’s all thanks to how the actor Yusa Koji voiced him. Yana took inspiration from how his voice actor played carefree!Lau.
  • The fact Lau introduces Ran Mao as his sister when they’re not blood related asks for a big “who is she really?” in the guidebook.
  • From the way Ran Mao punished Harold West Jobbs and Mina, it’s easy to guess that she has a huge strength.
  • On the original sketches, Ran Mao was written to be 17 years old.

About Soma and Agni:

  • It’s because Soma is Agni’s God that he can enter “samadhi” and use a superhuman strength”.
  • Cooking is Agni’s hobby, though he also likes calm, reading, meditation and praying.
  • Soma’s charm is mostly due to his spontaneity.
  • In case you hadn’t noticed, since the curry arc, Soma is scared of Sebastian lol.
  • Fun fact: while Ciel doesn’t really care about choosing his clothes and leaves it to Sebastian, Soma chooses by himself what he wears every day.
  • Initially Soma’s mother was supposed to be English, then Yana-sensei decided she would be Indian.

About other characters:

  • About Rachel
  • Vincent is described as a loving husband, who really cherished his family.
  • On the original sketches, Rachel was said to be 18 years old while Vincent was 25 years old.
  • The fact John Brown wears the same sunglasses as the Queen did is proof that she really trusts him.

More general trivia:

  • Demons don’t need to sleep or eat however Shinigamis do.
  • Shinigamis are in between Gods and humans, so they have a lot of common points with humans (thanks to ch105 we know why).
  • All Shinigamis are short sighted “maybe to compensate the fact they see things invisible to the human eye”.

About Yana-sensei:

  • Her birthday is January 24th, her bloodtype is O and she’s originally from Saitama.
  • She draws almost all the clothes of her characters, except for Soma because she lacks time and has an assistant who loves exotic outfits.
  • She always loves drawing Ciel’s clothes and she also really enjoys drawing Elizabeth’s dresses.
  • She’d love to wear the dress Ciel was wearing on the cover of chapter 8.
  • Mr. K said that Yana could be compared to Ciel’s character because they share the same realistic side. Mr. K is then compared to Soma xD

There you go, nothing really new or interesting on Will, UT and Druitt unfortunately :/ Hope you enjoyed 😉

What’s up with the Phantomhive Servants’ character changes when they were fighting the Circus group? I’m particularly referring to Maylene ( Mei-rin / Meylin ?, whatever). She’s usually so kind but became so cold hearted when fighting Wendy and her brother. They were like 8 years old and she did not hesitate a bit shooting them down. It always happens when she puts her glasses down. Do you know what’s up with her?( and also Bard and Finny)

Hey Anon!

Well Mey Rin is a pro and she had a job to do during the Circus arc (the same as during the Green witch arc), just like Finny and Bard so…
Ciel saved them and gave them a home, but in return they have to protect him and the house if needs be.

Please don’t forget that the guys from Noah’s arc had come to the manor to kill everyone so Mey Rin and the others knew it was the time to get serious, in order to protect Lizzie and their own lives as it is their job and the purpose Ciel gave them.

As for Peter and Wendy, they were not children, please reread the arc. They were most likely born with a medical condition and were unable to grow (so in other words you could call them dwarves, just like Jumbo was a giant).

I know that might not be what you meant, but don’t blame Ciel or his servants too much for what happened during this arc: in the servants’ case, they did as they were ordered and besides the guys from the circus are the ones who attacked first.

So there is nothing up with them 😉 they just did their job, what they’re actually really in the P household for. They’re pros and strong, and they’re fighting to protect Ciel’s side, that’s all there is to it.

Hope it answers your question Anon 🙂 Have a nice day!
