Hello! Srry for the bad English but I don’t understand the thing about children looking as their parents for Ciel’s family? The twins look as Vincent, no? So why the author said boys are like their mother? Sorry…

Hello Anon and no worries, your English is good!

Are you perhaps asking about what Sensei said here? Because if so, what she literally said was:

image

It’s not a generality regarding her drawing style, it’s just for these 4, which means that the same doesn’t go for the twins. In other words:

  • Lizzie => takes after Alexis

  • Edward

=> takes after Frances who takes after Cedric K. Ros

  • EDIT: the twins => were described to be a mix of their parents in canon but I do think they appear to take more after Vincent than Rachel (Vincent who takes after Claudia)

Aaaaaand actually maybe the twins taking after Vincent (and thus Claudia) is why Othello said…

image

because the last time he was in the human world (“50 years ago”), Claudia was still alive. :3

I hope it helps. 🙂 Have a nice day Anon!

I think some fans want to strangle Yana at this point for taking her sweet time with all these repetitive flashbacks. Not that I don’t blame them, as interesting as the back story is, I would very much love to get back to the plot already. Even patience has its limits. You think we’ll get back to it by the end of this year, or will it be a year of flashbacks?

Hi Anon! Ah, well, yes, I too always thought that the flashback would end up in March (because it would have been logical for the last chapter of vol27) but it looks like it’s at least going for a few chapters more?

Honestly, I don’t know until when it will go like that because the pacing is rather off (biggest problem with Kuro). I still think a good ending point of the flashback (that’s dedicated to the twins and the formation of the contract) would be this moment…

image

as I explained here, but for all I know it might as well go on until we catch up with Seb’s own flashback from ch62 or 63 (it depends on if what Sensei wants to show is also Ciel’s motivations till the moment he officially became Earl Phantomhive).

At this point, I’d say we have at least still two more chapters, but it could go further than that. The flashback started this summer, so I doubt we will go further than a whole year of it but ehhh, what do I know really, the pacing is the one thing in Kuro that is completely unpredictable. xDD

Myself I’d love to go back to the current timeline, because there are so many things I want to know and characters I want to see again, but at least this month we got a long chapter. :33

I can understand people getting annoyed and I’m not blaming them at all, but hopefully it’s just the time of a few more months!
… Actually, I’m busy as hell, but since I kept saying I would do it this month, I’ll try and publish a new theory about what I think is going on in the current arc (since the flashback changed my main idea a little) even if we didn’t get to see yet what happened to the twin’s body.

Also it will jog everyone’s memory of the current subplot a little and it might change from mostly discussing the flashback. 🙂

Have a nice day Anon! :3

hello !! what are your thoughts and predictions on characters whom are off panel rn, like the clowns, Kurona, Seidou, *cough*shinohara*cough*, Kaiko (?),… oh speaking of shinohara, i wonder what Suzuya feels rn now that the CCG is basically no more along with the medical support… love your blog!

Hi Anon, aww so sorry for the delay, but since the new chapter was near when you sent your ask, I wanted to see what would come up first, just in case. :3 So:

  • Clowns

As showed with the newest chapter, they’re supposed to be stalling for time, even if we don’t know why exactly for now.

image

I personally don’t worry about them, because Nico, Itori and Uta at least were foreshadowed (in my opinion) to watch the series coming to an end and share one last laugh about it, thanks to ch128…

image

…without mentioning the fact that these 3 aren’t exactly true villains or antagonists amongst the Clowns’ gang (compared to Roma, Donato and Furuta) because they almost always made up for a nasty joke of theirs with an advice or favor, at least when it comes to Kaneki himself.

In other words, they should be fine compared to Donato or Furuta who might end up following Roma’s example before the end of the series, since the three of them definitely were strongly depicted as villains/antagonists.

Besides, Nico, Itori and Uta were shown to have an agenda that isn’t solely about the Clowns or Furuta’s plan (the friendship with Yomo for Itori and Uta, Itori saying that Nico only cared about finding a boyfriend and Nico helping Kaneki’s side with the great wheel act…), which is yet another argument about them enjoying this “play” but not actively supporting one side in particular.

I’d love to expand, but I’m unstoppable on the subject + you asked about other characters so I’ll just end it there. xD

  • Takizawa

Gosh, another topic and character I love to ramble about, so to make this simple there again, let’s just say that Donato’s return is vouching for a confrontation between him and Amon and this is what, I hope, will lead to Takizawa’s return.

The initial issue is that Amon, as the OEG he is now, is unable to face Donato and immediately win an upcoming confrontation, because he’s held back by too many aspects of his past he never learnt to address correctly.
So the only way for him to win against Donato who’s a strong ghoul would be to accept the OEG that he was forced to become and fight using his whole strength instead of trying to remain as human as possible.

However, the second issue is that he’s unfortunately currently unable to do that, because he doesn’t hold ghouls in the same regard as humans and that’s why he’ll probably need to be saved by Seidou, because Seidou…

image
image
image

…is the one who accepted his fate as a powerful OEG.

Of course, the whole point is not to have Seidou win against Donato for Amon’s sake, because it’s something Amon needs to do by himself, but saving Amon is also important for Seidou’s own development, as Amon and Akira are the two people who matter the most to him and he believes…

image
image

The whole narrative where Seidou is concerned always was “being able to become a hero”. It’s something he expressed many times (namely through the wish to be seen and valorized by Akira)…

image

before recently giving up on it:

image

…which is precisely why it might finally happen.

To quote @hamliet who definitely has a better way with words than me: “Akira and Amon have not been heroes–they’ve needed rescuing from Takizawa, who saved both of them, because he is the hero in their story, as he always wanted to be. He just hasn’t realized it yet”. [x

I better stop there once more, because I could ramble for 5 hours since Seidou is one of my absolute favorite characters and I will definitely scream when he shows up again (btw, I kept on mentioning Amon, but Takizawa will probably have the same role towards Akira’s own need of acknowledgement towards her dead parents’ actions).

  • Kurona (and Shinohara)

Tricky girl, but her dynamics with Amon and mainly Juuzou aren’t completely written out and finished in my opinion, so I’m expecting more of her in one way of another, even if I don’t exactly know how yet.

Generally, I think that if Juuzou really was foreshadowed to become a ghoul before the end, then maybe she’s going to be the one who helps him adjust to his new life, since she went through the same thing a few years ago.

And actually, same when it comes to mourning someone you love: Kurona had a hard time learning how to do without her twin sister who was a very important person to her and Juuzou…

image
image
image

is not there yet when it comes to Shinohara. ://

So I’d say that what’s left of Kurona’s development is linked to Juuzou, just like what’s left of Juuzou’s is also linked to Shinohara.

Hanbee basically confirmed that Shinohara was dead in ch128 and, even if I know some people are expecting him to come back as a zombie or something else, I honestly think the whole point of Shinohara in :Re is to lead Juuzou to the realization that…

image

he’ll have to let go eventually (I literally cried as I wrote this, I mean I love the narrative between Juuzou and Shinohara so much and it’s one reason ch143 of TG was so harsh on me). ;_;

I’m not entirely sure for this part, so take with a grain of salt, okay?

  • V (Kaiko)

Finally, about them…

image
image

We still don’t know what they’re about and what they’re up to, if Furuta is just using them to discard or destroy them later or if they’re really allies, but I’d still call them the big bad regardless of how they’re supposedly currently following Furuta’s every order, because that’s what they were foreshadowed to be.

More is coming, hopefully, so mostly I’d love new hints to refresh all the theories about them. :3

Whew, there you go! Thank you so much for the nice words and for reading ❤

I’m sorry that I ended up rambling and that it got long but I hope it answers your question! Have a nice day Anon and sorry again for the delay :33

How did blavat know/see that Sebastian isn’t human? Or was it just a guess?

Hello Anon! Soooo recap time but Bravat is most likely a normal human…

who was told in advance (by the mastermind behind the blue sect, whoever they are) about both our!Ciel and Sebastian.

That’s how…

he knew about both the contract and Sebastian’s true nature. He wasn’t a true deviner at all, so all that he said to Ciel, Liz and Seb were things he was very probably told to say when he would meet them.

I hope this helps, have a nice day Anon! :))

Do you have any opinions about what a prankster gangster Sebastian is? He is enjoying every second of his « life » to the fullest by tormenting ciel in different ways

Hi Anon! Well, I hope this doesn’t come as a shock to you or anything but Seb is a demon so I’d say that it’s a rather “natural” behavior where he is concerned. :))

To quote Sensei, he’s elite trash, nasty and loves seeing Ciel suffer and struggle, amongst other things, so it’s not so surprising to see him acting like so:

Sorry that I can’t expand more than that, but this is literally the basis of Seb’s character as a real demon. That’s just who he is, so it’s not something I have an opinion on when it’s always been so clearly defined to be the case in the first place. :33

I hope this doesn’t sound lame, but really there is no need for complex explanation about the basis of Seb’s character: he’s a true demon and his nature is evil so he totally likes his sordid games with humans!

Have a nice day Anon, I hope this is understandable. :))

Skull Knight’s Sword of Actuation is clarified that the behelits taken from apostles specifically. Skull Knight is not taking away Guts behelit away. Is this possibly that Apostle behelits are different or he needs it to be activated to use it?

Hello Anon! Ahh in my opinion, it’s just simpler than that.

There are two kinds of beherits, the ‘normal’ type (that Guts is carrying and that Puck calls his) and the crimson type (that Griffith had) and that is for the five evil angels of the God Hand. However a beherit is also defined as such:

image

and in my opinion, that’s why the Skull Knight can’t use the one that Guts is carrying, because it has yet to be used and lead its true owner in front of the God Hand.

You heard what Flora (and even Gedfryn) said, if a beherit doesn’t belong to the one who’s carrying it then it’s bound to leave its carrier at some point, which is probably why the Skull Knight never bothered with Guts’.

All the beherits that the Skull Knight took were from Apostles specifically as you pointed out, but it’s also true that Apostles already used their beherit and sacrificed their most precious love.
So in my opinion, that’s because the beherits that the Skull Knight is using already served their purpose that he can turn them into his special weapon (because they’re still fetishes opening a road to the abyss).

TL;DR it’s not that the beherits are “different” per se, but rather they already served their purpose with their respective Apostle, which is not the case of the one Guts is carrying, not yet at least. Hence why the Skull Knight didn’t try to take it.

I hope it makes sense, please have a nice day Anon!

Luca (Berserk) deserves more love. She’s so incredible *-*

ISN’T THAT THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH THO’? I mean, this woman conquered my heart back when the tower of conviction arc was at its beginning…

and seeing her again in Falconia, helping Rickert and Erica and being kind to Daiba, only strengthened the feeling!

We’ll surely see her again, probably as some sort of inside helper from Falconia, since everyone else is bathing in Griffith’s brainwashing glow. xDDD

Also I’m a little bit sad that things didn’t work out between her and Jerome, but oh well.

Definitely more love for Luca! :33 Have a nice day Anon!

How likely is it for :re ending with Volume 16? It was brought up recently but V16 doesn’t have a release date, just summer which increases my suspicion that we’ll get more than 10 chapters before a wrap up. And with Kaneki heading underground which will no doubt be a big moment, I’m anticipating him becoming the Nameless King after this, maybe with a revived Dragon? Not to mention all the other parallels like this Etoish Dragon falling from the sky, the Clowns resurgence, the rooftop talk. 1/2

image

Hello Anon and HAHA I just knew I should have reblogged that explanatory post by @hamliet because people are confused and her thoughts are similar to mine on the subject. xD

Anyway, no worries, :Re won’t end in vol16, or if it does then it’s because there is a third part coming up. :)) Without mentioning the thing about 206 chapters, there is overall way too much left to tackle for the story to end in ten or twelve chapters!

Moving on, I think I know which illustration you’re talking about for Kaneki, in fact Ishida-sensei drew a few more [x] and yes, I think this could have to do with the Nameless King, thanks to the new marks under his eyes, even if overall it depends on what that ‘Nameless King’ title represents (hopefully something different from the OEK, because Kaneki totally failed at that).

Lately, people have been theorizing that Kaneki could become the phoenix we see in Uta’s tattoos [x][x]

so if we can somehow correlate this to the Nameless King, then I guess it might become Kaneki’s next title. 🙂

I have to admit that I’m a bit lost when it comes to where we are at in the Fool’s Journey. Some say we started the Sun arc, others that we already ended it and are moving onto Judgement, so since I’m not good at this type of symbolism, I’ll just not say anything. xDD

Anyway, no worries, Tokyo Ghoul the series isn’t ending with vol16. Maybe :Re is ending, but I wouldn’t even be sure of that.
No date for vol16 is possibly linked to Sensei and his editor not knowing yet how many chapters there will be inside (10? 12?) or something like that. 🙂

I hope it answers your question, thanks for passing by Anon!

HOLY SHIT

midnight-in-town:

okokokokokok so I was just discussing with @thedarkestcrow AND WE JUST REALIZED

GUYS FOR REAL DOESN’T THIS REMIND YOU OF SOMETHING?!

I AM SCREAMINGGGGGGGG

Hi Anon! No worries, it changes literally nothing to any theory about Brown 🙂 A lot of readers had already theorized he was supernatural anyway, so this just seems to narrow down his true nature more.

About December 14th though, maybe there is a misunderstanding but whoever attacked the manor (and if it’s Brown on the Queen’s behalf, it’s the same) totally wanted the twins to suffer before dying, which is why they made sure to give the twins to these child traffickers in the first place. Otherwise they would have simply killed them on the spot, like they did with Vincent and Rachel.

As for possible backup, I was actually discussing this with @thedarkestcrow yesterday as well and we think that one supernatural being could have been enough to annihilate the whole mansion, definitely, which means that…

image

Tanaka possibly wasn’t stabbed by a second supernatural being but rather by the human from the household who helped them (you know, the one who muzzled the dog, possibly amongst other things?). That could explain his surprise there…

image

and also his words…

image

…depending on what theory you believe in (RCMT for me ;_;).

The other possibility is that there really were 2 supernatural killers that night and something happened between the moment Tanaka was stabbed and the house completely burnt down, which led to one of the 2 disappearing/ceasing to exist somehow.

TL;DR you can take any theory about Brown being shady and keep them literally as such, just replace “possible shinigami” with “possible demon” (or corrupted angel, I guess -_-) instead.

I hope it answers your question! Don’t hesitate if things aren’t clear about December 14th, I mean, there are still things we don’t know (like who attacked Tanaka) but the intent behind the twins’ abduction seemed rather clear. 🙂

Have a nice day, Anon!

Hello Anon! And I guess I might agree to some extent, but since it’s not the first time I see this scenario between a manga and its early anime adaptation, I’m mostly fine with it (or I can grow up to be when I don’t like a development if you leave me time, like with the 2CT).

What I would hate would be a literal copy-pasting of S1 and S2, but so far Sensei changed enough things and made them more complex for this to work for me, at least for now (like Lizzie, UT, the lineage, the RCMT, the war subplot).

I’d rather follow the foreshadowing that she introduces in the manga, even if some of it is shared with the anime, and her development of the plot around Ciel’s family (since Claudia was nonexistent in the anime and is an interesting plot bait in my opinion, same for the Midfords) in order to enjoy the story.

I’m sorry that you feel like this though. :/ I guess the anime really was a mistake in more ways than one, with that at least I can definitely agree.

I hope you can still find ways to enjoy the manga, Anon! Lots of positive vibes. :333 Have a nice day!
