the way you crap on Undertaker’s character gives me life

Is this @dorkshadows as some sort of revenge for my own

little

anon prank?

If not, then I’m having a hard time guessing whether Anon means it seriously or ironically, because I love UT: it’s just way too easy to figuratively throw eggs at his handsome and scarred face, because of all the drama he’s raising lately.

I mean, seriously, everything UT did is as far a testament of healthy love as you can get, so I just can’t help but imagine Claudia being in Hell like…

image

And that’s what’s killing me. xD

Anyway, I love UT, I love Seb too, but I’m gonna force the adoption of all my still alive children and take them far away from these supernatural dudes who have no idea how to make them happy.
…I’m taking Tanaka with me too, because he’s the real MVP of this story and I don’t want him to die.

So me shitting on UT half unironically is just me loving his character but wishing he’d wake up already. 🙂 Hopefully it’s going to be for this arc, because

no one is unreedemable yet as far as our!Ciel’s dynamics are concerned (except maybe the twin if the RCMT is true?).

Have a nice day, whoever you are (Anon or Dorky-chan)!

I still think Uta was the old oek but later ishida changed the story. Even before the oek was mentioned ishida had foreshadowed he was an oeg many times. I waited so much for these theories to be confirmed. That would have been great :(

midnight-in-town:

Hi Anon! Yeah, as I mentioned here a few chapters ago and here more recently, it’s also my opinion that Sensei didn’t go through with what he planned for several parts of the story, the Clowns in general being one of them. 🙂

I’m okay tho’, I mean, I realized it would be the case precisely by the time ch171 was released and Uta’s little moment led to no real answer. Obviously I was kinda hoping to be proved wrong, but now it’s set in stone so… :3

I’m still considering this idea as a headcanon personally (all versions of it), I mean…

image
image
image

…knowing that it’s 100% okay if no one agrees with me. xD

I won’t mention again all that I mentioned during this past year (the recap post is here if you want to check it out once more) and I don’t regret any second that I worked onto the many versions of this theory, so I’m not bitter.

If Sensei ever wants to do a spin-off about the century preceding the events of TG (since he sure seemed to enjoy making all these Uta drawings), or if he wants to tell us anything about what he didn’t make happen in TG, I will definitely read and be all ears, but otherwise I’m just comfortable telling myself it’s what happened now that there won’t be any other answer on the subject.

Sorry to hear that you may be disappointed Anon, though. But if you liked these theories, well, there is nothing forbidding you to believe in them now that they weren’t confirmed or denied and probably won’t ever be. ^3^

I hope it helps, if just a little! Have a lovely day. 🙂

Hi Anon! Ah, well, to specify that time passed, it’s generally easier to give a new haircut to the characters. 🙂

Almost everyone else had their haircut changed Anon. He already felt like a reprobate for most of his life…

image
image

so I really want him to feel like he’s belonging with everyone else now. xD

Besides, long or short hair, I’m pretty sure Yomo wouldn’t notice any difference anyway and Itori probably loves him no matter what haircut he has, so it really doesn’t matter, hahaha!

Have a nice day Anon. :33

Not really related to some stuff you said before, but the way you love Black Butler so much is really refreshing! Is it your favourite manga?

Aww, thanks Anon! ❤ I’m really happy that I love it so much too, haha, especially considering how I can rant about the awkward pacing at times. :3

I don’t know if I have just one fave manga tho’… Probably not, if just because I also am fond of Berserk with everything I have and I have less criticism to make. Not that criticism has to be a bad thing though.

In fact, Kuroshitsuji has a lot of potential as a story in my opinion, which is 50% of why I love it so much. The other 50% is related to how in love I am with most of the characters and dynamics between them. So, to say that I have the highest expectations for Kuro more than for any other manga I ever read would be an understatement, but I can’t help it. :3

Sensei has currently everything in hand to make Kuro a really incredible series on many aspects, which is what I’m hoping she’ll make happen, even if I’m kinda on the fence sometimes because the pacing isn’t the best, to the point that I’m constantly fearing plot convenience and too many clichés (which is what I dislike the most in storytelling).

So far, looking back on it, Yana-sensei hardly disappointed though. I mean, I can’t say that I was fond of every plot twist along the way, but if I’m still here and still willing to discuss it, it’s because she managed to pull it off somehow!

The problem is that in Sensei’s writing, every time you get an answer, you get 5 more questions and, frankly I don’t mind, it’s actually very exciting, but I’m just hoping that eventually we’ll really get the full picture without any plot hole. 🙂

TL;DR I don’t think I have just one favorite manga, but Kuroshitsuji really does hold a special place in my heart for its own unique reasons, just like the other series I like to blog about.

The revenge theme is common to a lot of series I follow(ed), but the charm of Kuroshitsuji for me is the constant mystery and Sensei’s foreshadowing her developments, which makes it all fun to guess about, without mentioning the amazing characters.

It’s not perfect, I do think the writing and pacing are a bit too slow and some characters definitely need more focus or development, but even after 6 years, I’m still hoping Sensei will deliver all that she possibly hinted about!

Sorry for rambling, have a nice day Anon!

I’m just curious with how long you’ve been following some manga works. What manga on this blog is the oldest for you?

Hi! Hmm, well I’ve blogged a little about my very first manga ever, which is coincidentally the longest manga series I’ve ever read till now in a way, because it’s part of a crossover amounting to 86 volumes. I think this is going all the way back to 2009? The whole crossover ended in 2015.

Otherwise, it’s definitely Kuroshitsuji and Ao no Exorcist that I started the same summer, something like 6 or 7 years ago now? I think it was summer 2012 for both if my memory doesn’t fail me.

Then it must have been both Chihayafuru and Shingeki no Kyojin in 2013 because I started the series after seeing gifs from their respective anime (airing at the time) on my dash.

Tokyo Ghoul that just ended I started in Spring 2014. Sometimes after (maybe 2015?), I started Gangsta. and then it was Berserk at the very beginning of 2016 and Gintama in April of the same year.

Another series I follow monthly (and for which the anime is in production by Wit Studio) is Vinland Saga that I started at the beginning of 2017. I really need to reread this one as well before the anime starts, but it shouldn’t be before 2019 at the very least so I still have time. xD

Finally there is Black Lagoon but just like I can’t remember how I came to start it, I can’t remember when I did either. xDD It was after Berserk tho’, I’m at least sure of that.

I probably forgot a few titles here and there, but that’s what I follow regularly and what I’m likely to reblog about. I’m not mentioning animes because I watched way more of those and I go wayyyy back, earlier than 2009 I think, so I’m afraid I can’t detail more than that. ^_^

I hope it answers your question! Have a nice day. 🙂

I don’t follow because of Tokyo ghoul, but I’m glad if you’re okay with how it ended. I was expecting more… sadness since it was a main fandom for you. I’m also glad that you said you will maybe post more about Berserk and I’m thinking of getting into Blue Exorcist because of a post you made recently (I watched the anime a long time ago) so I’m looking forward to more of your posts. Thank you!

Awww, thanks Anon! ❤

Yeah I’m okay, the ending was satisfying on some points, less so on others. I wasn’t expecting it to 100% please me anyway, but the fact that overall I enjoyed the chapter is good enough for me. 🙂

I was sad yesterday, I might be sad again from time to time, but I’ll handle it, having had worse reactions when it comes to some series ending.
There was one manga that was already over for a long time when I started it, but boy was I miserable for a full week after I finished it (despite the fact the ending is rather happy). Same for some animes, like Cowboy Bebop.

I’m grateful Sensei warned us three weeks ago actually, it’s easier to deal with the idea. x)

Anyway, yeah more Berserk and more Ao no Exorcist for sure (I have a few posts ready or that I want to write), probably more Shingeki no Kyojin but I’m in dire need of a reread I think, because a recent character’s death got to me hard and I need to get back into it. Kuroshitsuji won’t change, I love it too much. xD

Let me know if you need a heads up about where to start reading Ao no Exorcist since you already know the old anime! The manga is amazing, you won’t be regretting it (+ it’s narratively speaking the best time to catch up). 😀

Take care Anon and thank you for being so kind and for the nice words. :3 Have a lovely day!

If we look apart from possible retconning, do you think there’s a reason that Sebs’ flashback was SO different from Our!Ciel’s? :’) It’s… so stark hahahaha. Or is there reasoning to it? I can’t seem to figure that out by myself. :> Thanks for your time, and good luck with the week!

Hello Anon! Ahh, this is a very interesting question, about which I recalled debating with the @thedarkestcrow when ch137 was just being released one and a half month ago (and it’s possible even @shinigami-mistress made a post on the subject but I couldn’t find it again if that is the case). :))

To be honest, I think retconning/narrative convenience is the most likely answer (since a lot of important elements, like the twin, have an impact on the meeting between Seb and Ciel), even if I remember considering another explanation about cinematic records possibly

being

subjective, meaning that the same event could appear differently in two distinct cinematic records.

To this day, I still can’t decide between narrative convenience or a mix of that and the possible subjectivity of one’s record, but

image
image
image

the fact that UT got those yearning-for-the-future episodes from inside the human’s brain (or their record or wherever else they were extracted from) makes me think it’s possible that subjectivity could affect one’s record to an extent.

In fact, a long while ago (before we knew what Shinigamis were), I even remember wondering about if a record could change depending on the sanity of the person, as in, if maybe any type of psychological disorder could affect what the cinematic record would show because of the person’s subjectivity.
Of course I doubt it will ever be addressed in detail, but it’s just to say that it would make sense for subjectivity to at least slightly influence one’s record.

In any case, it’s hard to be sure because the only cinematic records we’ve really seen in details were Angelina’s and Seb’s and we got both of them as narrators during those moments…

image
image

except that we also got a narrator anytime we had a flashback (Lizzie’s, Ciel’s, Kelvin’s), so this doesn’t really prove that cinematic records are affected by one’s subjectivity. :/

Finally, Seb’s record from his fight against Grell in ch10 showed the part about “taking the ring out”…

image

…which was also missing from what we saw of his record in ch62/63, so that’s why I think that narrative convenience/retconning is definitely the biggest part of the answer to your question. :3

I hope this can be helpful somehow! Thank you for the nice words and I wish you a great week as well! ^3^

midnight-in-town:

tfw you realize in ch138 that, while telling Seb not to take on another contractor in case it gets in the way of his own contract, Ciel briefly thinks about the guy who brought the twins to the cult and about his own father Vincent, before saying I can’t trust anyone anymore.

Initially and before this chapter, @thedarkestcrow and I had previously debated and concluded that maybe our!Ciel couldn’t refer to his parents as anything but “[his] predecessors”…

image

…because of survivor’s guilt leading him to think that “he let the best son died” and had no right to call them his parents as a result.

However, with the latest chapter and this page in particular, maybe it’s actually that a part of him blames Vincent, the head and protective figure of the family, for not being able to prevent everything that happened… ;_;
It’s either that or he realized that what happened to his family is linked to whatever his father’s “work” was.

Either way, it’s just… really sad, especially when we know that Vincent expected to die a while before it happened, it’s just that he miscalculated when he thought that his sons wouldn’t get involved (even making Dee promise to watch after them). ://

One day, I hope Ciel gets to talk about his father with Tanaka, Frances, Diedrich, Klaus or maybe even UT, because there are definitely some issues.

Hello Anon! Nope, he didn’t know any big detail…

And actually, I’m really curious as to how he found out and who explained it all to him before he officially became “Earl Phantomhive” in March 1886. Because:

  • Either Seb made some research
  • or Tanaka explained
  • or Frances explained
  • or someone else did (Klaus? Diedrich? UT? Ann?)

Maybe we’ll know with the current flashback, if it’s supposed to catch up with Seb’s record from ch62/63? I guess we’ll see. :3

I hope it answers your question Anon, have a nice day!

midnight-in-town:

I know the art theft issue can never be compared to people stealing theories, but damn it takes literally 5 sec to just mention who wrote a theory when you’re using it to explain other things to some people, be it privately or publicly.

Or in case you don’t remember, which can be understandable, at least making it sound like it’s not yours would be cool.

not gonna lie it’s why I have some issues with a few theory bloggers sometimes :///

personally I really don’t give a damn about credit, but it would be nice if some fans wouldn’t constantly take other people’s ideas and use it as their own as if it was no big deal. It’s not a competition, we’re all in this together and there is no shame at admitting that other people besides you have good ideas that in turn inspire you.

what’s worse is people using your theories as theirs and then reaching insane conclusions that are sometimes even contradicting the theory itself and I’m just…(ꐦ ಠ皿ಠ )

image

Sorry Anon, I don’t know if it’s your idea of a joke for April Fool’s day, but I find it’s rather distasteful to speak about people behind their back.

The point is that it’s a general issue and they’re not the only one to do it, even if it’s something I saw on their blog that triggered my previous post.
So I may find this habit of theirs beyond annoying, disrespectful and suppressing any personal desire to interact with them, but I can at least respect their dedication to a series they obviously love.

Anyway I know that, just like with the art theft issue, most people who do that don’t realize that they’re hurting other people’s feelings by using something that’s not theirs without crediting. It’s just that it’s particularly painful when you point it out to them (several times in my case) and they still don’t bother with doing better.

Generally, this initially comes from a wish to be noticed or to get more notes/followers within the fandom, so there is literally nothing to do to prevent that, besides trying to explain to them why they should do differently.

TL;DR just like it’s nice to add a comment on reposted fanarts about adding the source to credit the original artist, it would be nice to comment on posts using theories without credit if you remember the original OP or link. :3

Thanks in advance if you can help on that!

EDIT: and obviously the same goes with quoting/using translations without crediting the blogger who did all the work!!

image

…Ah, well no worries Anon, I can understand why it might seem like that. :3

Actually there are two reasons there is sometimes a lot of links added in my posts:

  • to credit whatever isn’t from me, be it theories or translations, but generally I tag the OP at the same time, because I consider that they might want to know about anyone using their work + just in case I’m wayyy off the mark regarding whatever they were explaining.
  • to link to previous posts of mine that contain additional info about the subject at hand. I ramble a lot as you may have noticed xD so to avoid questions about things I addressed in previous posts, I add links.

I’m sorry that it felt like self-promotion to you though, especially since I’m really not one to play solo when it comes to theories, but honestly I think this is the least I can do considering that 1) I read and reblog a lot of theories written by other fans and 2) I used to get a lot of similar questions in the past and I had to find a way to counter that, knowing that I tend to ramble a lot. :3

Anyway, no worries and thanks for reading in the first place. 🙂 Have a nice weekend and a happy Easter if you celebrate it!

image

Aww, I’m really sorry to hear it (although I have 0 knowledge of anything happening anywhere aside from the English fandoms on Tumblr), but I’m not really surprised when I see how it seems to be the same for all my fandoms. ://

There is unfortunately not much to do, besides adding the source of the theories or fanarts to their posts in their stead if you know it and/or linking them to explanatory posts as to why crediting is extremely important (plenty of those if you browse the general tag “art theft” I think), even if you have to do it five or ten times in a row.

Some people indeed never learn, so when it comes to Tumblr, personally I avoid interacting with them as much as possible and I just always tell myself that one day something similar will happen to them and they will finally understand.

It’s not bringing a lot of comfort, I know, but you linking back to the source whenever you can is already extremely helpful for the OP in my opinion. :3

Thanks for reading Anon and have a nice weekend & happy Easter if you celebrate it! ^3^

Hi! So I just saw your update about you going on semi hiatus and I wanted to give you the best wishes possible! I will definitely miss seeing your original posts and reading your insights but school is more important and I hope everything goes the way you planned. But please don’t be too hard on yourself and don’t forget to enjoy small breaks :)

Aww Anon, thank you so much!! ❤

image

That being said, no worries, it’s not like I won’t write posts anymore at all, rather I will mostly do that closer to the release of new content since I’ll still be keeping up with all my series and ideas generally strike with new content. :3

The thing is, I used to try and match as much content for both TG and Kuro (a 1:1 ratio), so when I had nothing to reblog for one series I would write a post, but I just won’t have the time to do that anymore, hence a general decrease of original posts. :3

I know semi-hiatus sounds kinda big, but really, the askbox is what will change the most (since Anon mode will be off after this weekend), as well as possibly the even ratio of content for TG and Kuro, but otherwise, I’ll still be around, just maybe a little quieter :3

I’d rather be less around in the first place, because it is quite a stressful to study so much and I have a history of not doing well with anxiety at all, so I don’t want my blog to become an outlet of negative feelings.
However, if I focus on talking about series I love whenever I have the time, it will cheer me up a lot and I know I’ll definitely need that. :))

Anyway, as I keep saying, my blog is all for me, I’ve been theorizing about stories since being 12, so it’s really useful to get everything out of my head, even if I’m super happy that other fans enjoy it too. It’s really my place to relax so I’m definitely not storming out of here for 8 months. :3

Thank you so much for the encouragement and the sweet words, Anon! I wish you a lovely weekend and a great Easter, if you celebrate it! ❤ ❤
