Hello! And honestly Anon, Kaneki’s body is such a mystery right now that I can’t be sure of anything. xD However, I do admit that I have noticed a change in the general use of his kagune ever since he faced Eto in the Roze arc (which is when he got his first red hand).
So lately, I’ve been wondering if maybe that’s not what she meant about leaving him with some kind of gift, because look at this, during the Cochlea raid arc…
or the raid on the 24th ward arc…

So whether Kaneki now has different kakuhou types or not I can’t say at all, because it could just be that he’s using his rinkaku kakuhou to produce a kagune that’s looking a lot like other types. After all, Eto did explain that imagination played a crucial role for the kagune’s shape:
What I think however is that Kimi opening Kaneki up to look inside his body doesn’t have to imply that his whole transformation is only due to that nucleus Furuta gave him in ch144. Sure, that nucleus apparently made him “complete” (according to Kanou’s words), but I’d say his transformation started with the Roze arc and Eto’s “gift” because that’s when he got his first red hand:

does he still have just a rinkaku kakuhou but it’s his imagination that allows him to give his kagune a shape similar to other kakuhou types?
Both are possible but I really can’t say which one is more likely to be the correct answer right now. x)

Hi 🙂 Sorry for not being so clear above, but the issue here is not him eating Eto’s kakuhou since we saw him do that, rather it’s whether or not Eto’s kakuhou contained something special (which I think it did, since she mentioned some kind of gift, but it’s not confirmed) and what kind of transformation it possibly led to.
Simply, personally I think eating Eto’s kakuhou led to him starting to use his kagune/kakuja differently (see the examples I gave above), but whether or not this (+ Furuta’s nucleus from ch144) led to him developing different kakuhou types, unfortunately we just don’t know for now. 🙂
Maybe he developed other kakuhou types than rinkaku, maybe not. His entire body looks like a kagune so it’s really impossible to say for now, you heard Kimi, even she doesn’t get it. x)

And don’t worry, I definitely agree that the current arc isn’t the last battle. The last battle/last arc will probably take place on the Island anyway, since all the huge titans that are within the Walls and that Eren might come to use are still relevant in my opinion, without mentioning Historia who most likely didn’t come with the rest of the Scouting Legion. 🙂
Besides, that’s also the reason Willy still went with his plan despite guessing that he would die: we will probably see a coalition between the different countries after the massacre that Eren started, in order to face the threat that he and Paradis Island just “proved” that they represent (knowing that Paradis’ only possible ally is Hizuru and even that isn’t certain at this point).
As for what you said about Marley, I think it was pretty much confirmed in a previous chapter…
that Marley relied so much on Titan shifters that they slowly lost the advance that they had gained on the rest of the world.
I agree with you that I think it’s the main reason the current battle was rather shown to be ironic so far. As the post I reblogged earlier explained, Marley might have 5 shifters and battle ships and blah blah, but the Scouting Legion has been fighting at a disadvantage from the very beginning. So, in that sense, it’s rather not surprising that they are most likely shown to be winning so far, because they constantly adapted to the threat they were fighting.
Though I find Magath at least more commendable than most of Marley’s commanding officers whom Eren previously killed, because he at least knew that it was highly time for Marley to stop dreaming about past glory and dominance and, well, he was right but I’m sure even he would have wanted to be proved right in a different way.
So yeah, Marley will need to change, in more ways and aspects than just this one in my opinion and the Eldians that are following them will need to change as well otherwise it won’t lead either nowhere. Maybe the first step to evolving will be to accept a truce with other countries they were enemies with until recently, because taking down Paradis and Eren will be “more important”. Not that I want them to win, personally, but at least that would show development for sure.

Well, to be completely honest, I’m an avid music listener and you would find basically almost everything in my music player (and by that I mean from old classical pieces to innnocent children’s rhythm).
But.
I have had this huge fondness for Indian songs for two years now, especially when I’m under pressure for my studies and I can’t explain why, but it’s probably because they change a lot from what I can hear on radio in France (and Bollywood songs in particular have a way to really create an atmosphere, especially with their music videos). For example, last year for my exams of May, I was working like crazy and every hour I had five minutes off during which I listened to one Indian song which kept me hype & happy and then it was back to work again for another hour.
So yeah, I totally do and I can’t get this beautiful song that I discovered yesterday out of my head which is why I reblogged it, haha. :))
I currently don’t have a favorite male singer, however I looooove Sunidhi Chauhan for female singers!
I’m afraid my knowledge of Indian movies is pretty nonexistent however (I’m not into movies in general), that’s why I’m thankful to Youtube. xD

At the end of ch161, the editor’s line on the last page was indeed “Furuta and Rize” as some sort of preview, which led to all of us thinking ch162 would be about them
but then Sensei trolled his editor and ch162 was about everyone but them and the editor’s line on the last page was “what’s reflected in [Kaneki’s] eyes” as preview for ch163
aaaand the editor’s line at the end of ch163 mentions a new colored page for next week
And that’s it! Sooo nope, even though we saw Furuta on the last page and we will probably see him next week too, this week’s chapter was not hinted to be about Furuta and Rize.
Hi Anon. 🙂 Honestly, I think “having to prove that you’re right” is more a general way of thinking than just about having a fav ship or fav characters.
Some people want to prove their ship is better, their fav character is better, their opinion is better, their meta is better, their writing is better… it goes on 5ever. Fandoms are known to have people who don’t respect any idea or opinion that’s different from their own anyway, it’s just that sometimes it goes too far for me, like yesterday.
You’re absolutely right: characters are developed and evolve in a story with specific settings, same for their dynamics with other characters, that’s why you can even appreciate a villain as a character, despite them doing morally reprehensible things that you don’t support. It’s fiction, it’s about universes with their own rules and that’s why bias is often a problem because it results in negative behaviors between fellow fans.
Positive bias does exist though and that’s how I’d qualify why I have this pattern of appreciating strong female characters. It doesn’t mean I’m going to find excuses if/when they do something they shouldn’t, but just that I look up to how they’re respected in the story by other characters, thanks to being strong and confident.

I personally read Agni’s reaction as shock/astonishment, over fright or horror?

I’m pretty sure Agni didn’t understand why Ciel would want to hide this fact but, since Ciel never uttered a word about his family, aside from knowing that his parents died, Soma and Agni had no idea about him also losing a twin brother…
which might explain Agni being shocked upon finding out. And in my opinion, that’s also why…
…Agni gave the pieces to Soma just before dying, probably hoping that Soma would realize that the guy who almost killed him was actually not his friend, but his twin brother.
That’s my take on it so far :3 I don’t think the photo held anything but the twins holding hands, which is why I think Agni was possibly shocked by just this discovery. 🙂 I might be wrong though, as always!
