I wouldn’t be surprised if Annie were to come out from her crystal after Armin manages to successfully exchange memories and feelings with her. If this happens, then Annie’s crystal will be broken in a way opposite to the one Eren used to destroy Miss Tybur’s.
In this way we will have two opposite approaches on how to overcome a person’s physical, but also emotional defenses (after all, Annie enclosing herself into a crystal is symbolic of her coping mechanism which is to isolate herself).
I think it would be a nice parallel and would underline once more the different POVs Eren and Armin have and which will create conflict between them.
In the monthly magazine (above), Kenny answered “絶対にねぇな Not a chance” when Annie asked him “Are you certain it’s not true (that you have a kid underground?)”
In tankobon volume 24 (below), his line is changed into “妹に誓ってねぇな I swore to my young sister, so not a chance.”
We’d all suspect his feeling for Kuchel and Levi were the reason Kenny was so repulsed at the idea of having an illegitimate child. Looks like Yams decided to make it official.
Hello! 🙂 Well seeing as Mikasa’s story is an AU, I’m not sure they will adapt it. So I think it’s only going to be Annie’s story. …Though since there are 3 OVAs, who knows really, haha.
Honestly, I only heard about this recently, but I’m not particularly looking forward to it. I read Annie’s story long ago and it’s cool, it shows us more of Annie which is always good, but that’s basically it. I know the story already so I’ll see whether I’ll watch it or not.
And good question! I seriously have been wondering for a long time how Annie is supposed to come out of her crystal and I’ve come to the conclusion that only she can inverse the situation and destroy the crystal once she feels that it’s safe enough to go out.
I kind of assimilate Annie’s crystal to a chrysalis, only sturdier: it will break once she will feel that it’s safe to come out (or once she’ll wake up). For now, I don’t see any other way, though your idea with Eren using the Coordinate’s power to force her to open it is interesting to consider!
For all we know though, her crystal is just going to be blown by Marley’s canons once they come to the Island though -_- Isayama would be capable of this.
Sorry that I don’t have better ideas, Anon, but I’m really looking forward to seeing her again in the manga!

I found it interesting but then again, whenever Isayama does an interview, I always have the feeling that he speaks a lot and in the end we don’t learn anything really new. xD
The part I really liked though was when he implied that the ocean scene was a complete turning point for the three of them and that the whole “break up” in our Shiganshina trio was basically initiated at this moment.
Gah, I’m really happy to see more of the story from RAB’s point of view and I have been enjoying it a lot, but I’m also really looking forward to finding out what exactly happen between our Shiganshina trio during the last 3 years…

Reiner Braun
I gathered the
image of the former soccer player David Beckham’s eyes and the eyebrows, Matt Damon in <Saving Private Ryan>, my close friend’s characteristic to make Reiner. His appearance seems bit wild, and maybe scary. But he is a very good sportsman, gentle and kind, and has perfect personality. He is the character that you can sense high potential.
Bertolt Hoover
First of all, I made Colossal titan. And then I thought “What if colossal titan is a human who has weak-hearted and calm eyes, then what kind of character would it be?”. So I made Bertolt. Bertolt is the only character that the design of the titan came first, and then the human form.
Annie Leonhart
She is a small, but highly decorated character. Her hairstyle is based on photos of
Avril Lavigne taken by paparazzi. Her name is a joke, like “She is a girl, but her name is
‘Bro’(※In Japanese, ‘Annie’ and ‘Bro’ have the same pronunciation)” And it can be another reason that I liked the nickname “Annie” of the character who appeared in the drama <Kisarazu Cat’s Eye木更津キャッツアイ>.
And I combined “LeonHart” to show her inner strength. I thought the name is
I said that I wasn’t going to make a meta about the identity of the mysterious guy™, because I do believe it’s Eren, but I will talk a little bit about why Eren is in Marley, or at least, my theory about what could be the case. It’s going to be a bit far-fetched because I don’t have a lot of things to back this up entirely. The general idea is the point I’m trying to make, and not specifically the event that I’m about to mention, so keep that in mind.
Also for the record, since we don’t have an official translation yet, I will be using a fan one, here.
