asbehsam:

The more TG advances, the more I appreciate Sui Ishida’s choice to keep his identity a secret. He has been ever so bravely raising serious questions about dark real life issues in a way not every author can–he ‘goes there’ without fear, becomes the voice of the abused and the hurt and the ‘silent’ victims of all kinds, representing the complexity of sanity, relationships, and various genders and sexuality.

Sui Ishida chooses to be faceless so he can be the voice of many.

And i love him for that. So much.

It is possible that at the end of this series, Ciel finds a way to break his contract with Sebastian, and even breaks it? (I’ve been thinking about his radiance and all you explained about the new chapter)

thedarkestcrow:

There are many possibilities what could happen at the end of the manga. And breaking the contract surely is one of them. With Bravat offering Ciel help to get away from Sebastian in the latest chapter it seems like it might be possible to dissolve the contract. Also, Undertaker seems to have some plans for Ciel as well. It’s possible that he, too, is trying to find a way to get Ciel out of the contract with Sebastian.

I’m sure there are ways for Ciel and Sebastian to break the contract if they don’t act accordingly to the terms of the contract. Sebastian has to follow the rules that Ciel has framed (protecting Ciel, obeying his orders and never to lie). In return, Ciel follows the path of revenge and offers his soul to Sebastian when the contract is completed. But we don’t know how strict the contract is and if Sebastian is really bound by its rules.

In Sebastian’s cinematic record in chapter 63 we see a scene where Sebastian thought that Ciel might give up his plans of revenge:

It seems as if he had planned to take Ciel’s soul if Ciel hadn’t said that he still wanted revenge.

Also, there’s this scene in chapter 94:

It seems like Sebastian can devour Ciel’s soul if he gives up on revenge. So if Ciel breaks the contract it doesn’t save his soul from Sebastian.

But there still could be ways for others (Bravat, Undertaker,…) to dissolve the contract and it would be interesting to see if that would prevent Sebastian from taking Ciel’s soul.

When I started reading the manga I expected a similar end for the manga as in the first season of the anime. Ciel gets his revenge and Sebastian gets his soul, like they have agreed on. But I’ve been thinking for a while now that Yana may have planned a different ending for the manga. And lately it seemed as if Ciel’s future may not be set in stone yet.

It’s probably like Bravat said:

If Ciel follows the path he’s going he’ll end up dead, being consumed by Sebastian. But Bravat’s words imply that there’s a chance for him to change his dark fate. It would be interesting to see what Ciel will do if he is given a choice now.
