Hello! Srry for the bad English but I don’t understand the thing about children looking as their parents for Ciel’s family? The twins look as Vincent, no? So why the author said boys are like their mother? Sorry…

midnight-in-town:

Hello Anon and no worries, your English is good!

Are you perhaps asking about what Sensei said here? Because if so, what she literally said was:

image

It’s not a generality regarding her drawing style, it’s just for these 4, which means that the same doesn’t go for the twins. In other words:

  • Lizzie => takes after Alexis

  • Edward

=> takes after Frances who takes after Cedric K. Ros

  • EDIT: the twins => were described to be a mix of their parents in canon but I do think they appear to take more after Vincent than Rachel (Vincent who takes after Claudia)

Aaaaaand actually maybe the twins taking after Vincent (and thus Claudia) is why Othello said…

image

because the last time he was in the human world (“50 years ago”), Claudia was still alive. :3

I hope it helps. 🙂 Have a nice day Anon!

Bringing this post back because, while we don’t know how Grell and Othello knew UT was hiding in the P manor, Othello hasn’t made any comment in ch142/143 about the twin being who he was talking about in ch125.

So maybe this is implying that his comment about Ciel “having a familiar face” could really be about meeting Claudia “50 years ago”?

[x] Then I guess this is all why Tanigaki is Noda-sensei’s favorite character. :))

More seriously though, if you like Golden Kamuy just go check this person’s twitter: they give a lot of very interesting explanations about history elements introduced in the series.

If you don’t know Golden Kamuy and want to give it a try, you should 😀 it’s really good.

Chapter 144 spoilers

I got bored ok qwq

O!Ciel: -in the foyer- can I make a phone call?

Yard: sure

R!Ciel: who could you call that can possibly help you?

O!Ciel: -walks over to the phone and looks at Ciel while dialing- ahem…hello, yes Auntie Francis?

R!Ciel: oh fucc! No no no hang up! That’s not a funny joke.

O!Ciel: who said I was joking, oh sorry auntie.. Ciel framed me and got me arrested…you’ll be right over? Okie dokie >:3

R!Ciel: why did you call her!? qwq

O!Ciel: why did you frame and arrest me? -w-

If Shoyo wasn’t the final antagonist of the series, who do you think should have been?

Hey Anon! Hm, depending on whether or not you read the manga, my answer could be a spoiler. So make sure you want to read this.

First of all, Shoyo and Utsuro aren’t exactly the same person but I guess that, narratively speaking,

introducing Utsuro’s character in the arc following the one where we finally learn why Takasugi is so hateful towards the world and Gintoki (+ why there was history between Gintoki and Oboro), because of what happened with Shoyo, is why you’d think they are.

Anyway, I tend to be of the opinion that Shoyo/Utsuro isn’t exactly the final antagonist/big bad of the series (/! spoilers):

image
image

Rather…

image
image

…The vicious cycle he experienced during all of his existence is. And that (for now never-ending) cycle is to blame on humans too.

There used to be a time humans feared Utsuro because of the Altana in his blood giving him immortality/high regenerative abilities. As such he was killed times and times again. That’s what ended up creating his multiple personalities (Shoyo being one of them) and his death wish, which ultimately led years later to the Silver Soul arc.

But even after the war ended, that vicious cycle still isn’t over:

image
image

because now Utsuro’s immortality isn’t feared anymore but revered. Oh sure, this is a consequence of the deadly intergalactic war that Utsuro launched in order to destroy Earth’s Altana, so obviously he’s to be blamed too, but he’s not the only guilty party since he’s not the one who ended up creating “Tengenism”.

Just like humans are ultimately what created Utsuro, because no one ever saved him from them, Utsuro created a war in order to be able to die, which created a religion revering his immortality and wanting him back. And I find that this explanation is even simplyifing the issue. xD

Anyway, I hope this makes sense, but I just can’t see Shoyo as the final antagonist because okay, he’s the same being as Utsuro, and yet…

image
image
image

He’s fighting Utsuro too.

Sorry this sounds super complicated (and I haven’t even tried to mention how Gintoki, Takasugi and Zura feel about this) xD but have a nice weekend Anon!

What do you think of the Ketil Farm arc in Vinland Saga?

Hi, fellow Vinland Saga fan! 😀

Actually, funny you should ask, I reread Vinland Saga in July and it was interesting to remember how disappointed I was at first with this arc, when we switched to Einar, because I was dying to know what had happened to Thorfinn.

And then the Thorfinn I got to see was so… lost and empty, without life or a purpose in his eyes, that I was really confused about where this was supposed to go. No surprise afterwards though, I absolutely loved this arc, more so even than the first arc. xD

TBH I walked into Vinland Saga head first, I wasn’t expecting anything besides the revenge part from the summary, so witnessing Thorfinn slowly giving up on violence to focus on earning redemption for all that he did turned out to be everything I wanted for his character development and I was satisfied with that much.

I loved Einar too and most of the other characters introduced during this arc. Be it in pace or in themes, this arc was very different from the first one and I liked that fact, because it didn’t allow boredom despite not having the same amount of bloodshed as the first arc. :))

The way this arc unraveled was pretty unexpected, at least to me, to which I’m very thankful for (the good and bad developments made me change my mind about a few characters related to the farm for example), despite how very wary of Canute it made me. On this matter, I may be wrong (since it’s supposed to be a historical series), but actually I wouldn’t be surprised if Canute ended up as the final villain before Vinland somehow?

Anyway, I loved this arc, even the painful moments because they were narratively necessary, it’s just Canute… that’s mostly bothering me because I’m not sure what to make of him (and the fact the current arc hardly mentions him isn’t helping).

I hope it answers your question Anon! I find that each arc gets better than the previous ones in Vinland Saga somehow xD but that must be because it is always focusing about expanding on Thorfinn’s development and it’s always better to see how far he’s come than where he used to be. 🙂

Have a nice weekend!

rationalkuroshitsuji:

(I’d been looking for an excuse to play with LucidChart.)

The cleverest part of this company is the continuous loop around:
people attend
common blood > aristocrats
money > lavish music hall
free food > people attend

This makes the music hall self-sustaining, and it also makes it a little clearer why Ciel’s plan to disrupt the hall worked. Drawing people away from the hall decreased the total blood output, which decreased Sirius blood available, which increased the number of corpses and decreased the amount of blood available for the aristocrats. The whole cycle breaks down at that point.

If this is an interesting format, I’ll take requests for diagramming other story arcs too. I like doing this because it forces me to highlight pieces where we don’t know how they fit in yet.

« Weapon » Rin

the-fox-populi-says:

People, I just came up with the most massive Ao no Exorcist theory because what else are showers for. It may be a giant “duh” to many but just in case it isn’t to some…

Right from the start, we’ve been told that Rin was raised as a weapon against Satan. Now, when we think “weapon” we think “violence”. Epic battle imminent, right? The forces of evil versus the forces of good. Classic.
But today I was thinking about how the second season anime has been revealing certain plot elements of the manga. And maybe Rin isn’t intended to be the general/ ace-up-the-sleeve secret massive railgun of a giant war at all. This is gonna be long, but please ear me out.

So: second season of the anime. Kinda weird, kinda rushed, as so often when the people who produce the anime have to come up with an original ending for the show, because they caught up to the manga and are now out-running it.
But, we can be certain Kato told them at least some things of what she planned to do.
For instance:
-A giant evil organisation working against the True Cross Order,
-Yukio going darkside,
-Mephisto’s abandoned laboratory for creating artificial life,
-both the twin’s powers fully awakening.
Things didn’t happen exactly like they do in the manga, but the core is definitely there.
Now, consider: Anime!Yuri.

Anime!Yuri is a massive hippie who loves demons, and upon meeting Satan, feels sorry for him and lets him use her body as a vessel willingly. But what is particularly interesting, is that Yuri isn’t overshadowed by him. Rather, they remain two separate personalities, and can talk. Doesn’t that sound familiar?

image
image

As a result of his time with Anime!Yuri, Satan becomes less destructive. He still wields massive power and is easily agitated, but Yuri encourages him to use his powers to create a better world for humans & demons alike.
In fact, she doesn’t sound entirely unlike some other character:

image

…Which brings me to the core of the matter. The one who holds all the strings, who steers all the characters on the play board… The manipulative but brilliant asshole who has been orchestrating everything and whom we still don’t know shit about.

Mephisto.

Along with Azazel and the Emperors, Mephisto is on “team humans”.
We still don’t know why exactly Mephisto thinks humans “show merit” or why he enjoys Assiah so much (though I’ve previously theorized that because his “kin” possesses man-made objects, he wouldn’t have much to rule over without them). All we know is that “team humans” has been giving human the means to fight demons.

image

It is suggested that humans might have been the ones who created demons in the first place: After all, they are concepts. *Hilarious theories of how demons created religion how’s that for a paradox -dudes imagine the look on Angel’s face if that were true* …But nothing suggests that they need humans once their ego has sprouted.
However, it is very clear that human belief still influences demons. With enough conviction, they can be bound as familiars:

image

And destroyed by words & gestures:

image

In the AnE verse, it is made very clear that the power of belief is everything.
And nobody seems more aware of this than Mephisto.
And it is quite possible that this is simply because he has been staying in Assiah longer than any other demon and observed first-hand how human choices shape the future.
It has been very strongly hinted in chapter 99 that he has been
rewinding & rewriting timelines in order to get the one he wants.
For some reason, thus far every one involving telling Yukio about the whole how
& why of the twins birth and continued existence has apparently
backfired, so now he’s betting it all on Rin:

image

And what’s more, he has been staying in the same body for longer than any other demon. He seems very attached to it.
According to chapter 86, the only one of the demon kings who can stay in
the same body for an extended period because of his powers of Time. He
can most likely put his body in some sort of stasis to keep it from
deteriorating. BUT, he is not invincible. It is suggested in chapter 94
that he will, at some point, lose or let go of his body.

image

Yet,
as pointed out by Lewin in chapter 84, he has a research facility with immortality elixir & cloned replicas in his basement. So why not simply replace/ enhance the one he’s using now? Because the
clones aren’t as good as the original? Unlikely, since they managed to artificially
create a body so strong it could hold Satan himself, however briefly.
Maybe all good ones were destroyed on Blue Night, and now that the
facility is in ruin and only has one mad scientist left, new one clones or elixir can’t
be made that simply? Is THAT why he’s after Lucifer, because of his
resources?

image

Frankly, I can’t
imagine a genius like Mephisto not having some sort of back-up plan.
especially if he can do things like copy-paste entire facilities into a
different dimension and start things over in a different timeline it seems strange he hasn’t stored away some extra bodies. Rather, it seems like he has given up the whole
artificial life & elixir research entirely (and there’s the
anime-canon again!).
For whatever reason, it wasn’t feasible. Just like telling Yukio what he wanted to know didn’t work out.

To summarize: By now there probably isn’t a single entity who knows more about both human spirit and the relation between a demon and his host body than Mephisto.

Now think back to Anime!Yuri and Manga!Rin & Yukio.
And consider this quote, the super-vague wtf-is-he-talking-about one.

image

I think Rin might actually not have to fight with his body at all. As we know, the control Rin has over his flames has everything to do with the control he has over his own mind and emotions.
Perhaps the reason Mephisto abandoned the idea of creating artificial hosts, is because he found the perfect ones already: He INTENDS to give the twins to both Lucifer & Satan respectively- once they are ready and he can be sure that neither will budge to the force that tries to overtake them. Spirits not in control of, but imprisoned in a human body.

After all- he already came pretty close to creating something like that before…

thedarkestcrow:

Just a thought that came to me just now: If our Ciel really gets arrested now he’ll literally be inside a cage again.

After all that happened now with his identity being revealed, his dead brother returning and being blamed for crimes he didn’t commit, taking his freedom and imprisoning him again might trigger bad memories.

I highly recommend reading Noragami! Its such a good series and its a treasure trove of theory crafting.

Hi Anon and thanks, I’ll add it to the list! :3 As it happens, I think I watched a few episodes of Noragami back when it first aired, but now I don’t remember why I didn’t keep going…? This is strange. xD

Anyway, I was also planning to give it a try again (kinda like Akatsuki no Yona that I should reread from the beginning because it’s been years when I last caught up), mostly because some of my TG mutuals got back into it so I’m intrigued but, just like for the Promised Neverland, it will have to wait for 2019.

Thanks though, I’m really motivated to try it again, but this time I think I’ll go for the manga directly. :))

Thanks again for the rec ❤ and have a nice weekend Anon!
