natt-theghost:

It’s that time of the month, the time when Lizzy haters use absolutely anything and everything to tear that character to shreds for behaving like a human being

The thing that really gets me about the scans that we do have of Lizzy and Edward’s carriage conversation is that she is torturing herself over a hypothetical situation and it’s so god damn heartbreaking but ppl are fuckin coming out of the woodwork to call her stupid/childish/the worst/etc. Her whole childhood she was trained and being prepared to protect RC. She was chosen as his fiancée for that specific reason, bc she was really strong. And then he dies and she feels a weird sense of guilt bc she was always told that she was supposed to protect him. And then, to her understanding, he miraculously comes back! And they eventually begin to grow a little closer! And she develops feelings for him! And then she slowly starts to piece together that he’s been lying to her for 3, almost 4, years about his identity and that she really has lost the person she was supposed to protect but she keeps denying it until someone comes along and confirms all her suspicions and gives her another chance to protect that person. Only now, she feels conflicted bc she cares about OC and the plan is accuse him of a crime and potentially send him to jail but she’s being manipulated by expert liars so she goes along with it

Cut to the carriage scene where she is finally able to speak to her brother, the one person who loves her unconditionally and was heading the search for her when she ran away, about all these feelings she’s been bottling up 7 months. She’s saying that OC lied to her about being his twin but then she’s also talking about if he had been honest with her from the beginning, would she have been disappointed that he was the one that survived instead of RC, her fiancé, and if she’s really that cruel and horrible to even think that which is some heavy shit. She’s wrestling with her conscience in that carriage scene and it’s so tragic that this person who has been one of the most morally upright in this series full of terrible ppl has been put in this situation where no matter the outcome, she loses. She either loses OC, who she has real feelings for, or she loses RC for the third time, a person she has been trained and chosen to protect all her life

In conclusion

Kuroshitsuji Theory: O!Ciel is gonna have a problem with Snake…Damn.

darkspellmaster:

Okay so while I’m really worried about Lizzy, and I want R!Ciel to get the hell away from her. I’m also concerned about O!Ciel and Snake.

Well see remember what happened in Book of Murder, where Snake tried to kill him for making his family vanish?

Yeah this scene. We know that Snake believes they are still out there. But we also know that Undertaker was also watching the burning of the house. Given that R!Ciel probably saw that too, it’s not that hard to believe that R!Ciel may throw down some more logs onto the fire with Snake. Especially given that Snake was the last one to join them and unlike the others he wasn’t exactly rescued by O!Ciel in the same way.

O!Ciel did lie to him, he did tell him that Doll and the others were safe and still being a family somewhere else. The question is will Snake try to get revenge again?

I wouldn’t put it past R!Ciel to lure Snake to his side, though if R!Ciel is as obsessed with his brother as we think, his options for attacking O!Ciel will be very limited. Given also that Undertaker doesn’t want another Phantomhive to die, I can’t see him wanting that either. So Snake may learn the truth and not side with R!Ciel.

The question is what happens then? If Snake tries to kill him again, which wouldn’t be too hard to get a snake into the jail cell, will he go through with it, or if he learns the truth, will he actually choose to forgive O!Ciel who was traumatized this much and dealing with the fall out of his actions for attaining revenge.

Oddly while I do see Snake trying again, I do see in this case him realizing that his actions will do no good and that O!Ciel is just a messed up little boy that reacted as a child would when faced with a really bad situation. Snake is more of an adult than O!Ciel is, and given the kindness that O!Ciel has given him since that time and the friendship he has bestowed upon him, I get the feeling that Snake, like Finny will want to protect him. Even if he is still hurt by the actions of O!Ciel.

So while I do think there will be a bump in the road regarding Snake for a bit, I have a feeling that the Servants, including him, will come together to rescue and save him. Hell, maybe he has an argument with the other servants and they explain what happened that night to him and he realizes how dangerous and bad they were, and, while he feels bad for their deaths, he also probably will see that the Servants were just protecting the house and Elizabeth at the time.

I just want to see Snake and O!Ciel gain a friendship with real trust like Finny has with him. Even if Ciel isn’t his real name, he has a real name with Snake, that being Smile. Which, in reality, did reflect his truer personality. Someone who was shy but ultimately a happy person.

I think midnight was wrong in saying Lizzy didn’t wish RC was the one who had come back bc she did say she would have felt that way but felt horrible about it

funtomrabbits:

You mean @midnight-in-town? (tagging you because I think they mean you and also you might want to add on!)

I’m kinda interpreting this differently but I could see how you’d get that out of what little we’ve gotten so far. So this is just how I see it:

In the loose fan translations we have out right now, Lizzy says something along the lines of “if he hadn’t lied all those years ago could I really have such horrible thoughts?” -meaning could she really have wished it was r!Ciel that had come back instead of him if he had told her the truth. She’s admitting this would have been cruel and horrible if she would have wanted that, not saying that she would have.

Here’s the thing, though. When it was o!Ciel who came back and lied about being r!Ciel, (based upon what she’s saying) she didn’t think anything along the lines of “I’m glad it was Ciel and not (o!Ciel).” Because I think instead of saying that that way of thinking would be wrong, she would have said it was terrible that she already had thought that.

I hope I made sense haha

Just a friendly reminder

  • The whole Kuro chapter is not out and not translated
  • From the spoilers so far: Lizzie is beating herself up wondering about if her love for our!Ciel was actually fake/a lie all along and being a horrible/cruel person if that’s true (prediction: it isn’t).
  • Lizzie is 15 years old and human. We readers are omniscient thus aware of many points of view in the story which isn’t her case. As such any judgement you might have is biased from the start.
  • Our!Ciel has survivor’s guilt: he thinks he should have died instead of his brother and that no one in his family would have been happy to get him back, hence him taking his brother’s identity.
  • No one in his family

however (besides maybe Ann and that’s not even certain) ever thought that they would have rather gotten real!Ciel back.
It’s not because he was the second son that our!Ciel was treated or loved differently (again, Ann aside, since she apparently favored real!Ciel).

  • We still don’t have a single idea as to what happened during that one month until Ciel came back on Undertaker’, Frances’, Tanaka’ sides:
    • how Tanaka survived & what he saw
    • what Frances possibly did during that month
    • if UT told anyone he was going after the twins
    • if he told anyone that he found one of the boys dead
    • we don’t know how Tanaka knew about our!Ciel lying
    • same for Frances in case it turns out she also knew
    • so any conclusion about no one caring @ what had happened to “the other twin” is wrong: if they didn’t ask maybe it’s because they didn’t need to/felt they shouldn’t.
  • Ciel’s family cares about him. He thinks they don’t because of survivor’s guilt, but that’s not true, we have many examples of that. Out of anyone, the only one we can doubt on this is Ann.
  • I love Ciel, he’s my fav’ character and he went through a lot, but I’m against the mentality that is to imply he’s just a helpless victim with a very heartless family. If anything, he’s the one who thinks he doesn’t deserve them caring because “his brother was better”, but imo this arc is here to challenge this mentality (I can be wrong though, of course).
  • Lizzie didn’t say in the newest chapter that she or anyone else in the family didn’t care about our!Ciel, or that no one had cared to wonder about what had happened to “the other twin” when “Ciel” came back.
  • She didn’t say or even imply it. And she never will because it’s not true.
  • UT (even if he’s a major dick) doesn’t favor real!Ciel over our!Ciel, Tanaka doesn’t favor real!Ciel over our!Ciel, Frances and Alexis don’t favor real!Ciel over our!Ciel. Our!Ciel thinks they ought to but they don’t. Only Ann apparently did.

Character development.

Healing from complex trauma and PTSD. The power of love.

Have you ever noticed how Guts fought and risking his life because he wanted to win, especially in the golden age arc? See 100 Man Slayer, see Wyald.

Now if you look at berserker armor chapters and onwards, he fights because he has to if he wants Casca be safe.

At Vritannis, he only fought the Daka because there was no other way than to slay through them. Guts with the help of Zodd then defeated Ganishka because he was a threat to the journey. After that, he’s even rejecting Zodd.

Similar can be said about the sea god. Letting the sea god alive during the festival would have risked the sea horse and everything that’s inside getting eaten. Here too, a threat to the journey.

Guts telling Zodd to get the fuck outta his face is pretty savage though.

Guts found something he loves more than fighting and that shit is heart warming

A follow up to my post about why I don’t think that Goro is the twins’ father, despite the fact he was confirmed to be Satan’s very first human host.

Anyway, ch103 is really interesting as a focus on Yuri (16 years old) and Shiro’s (22 years old) dynamic, because we found out it gradually got better over time. I’m now looking forward to how they managed from “awkward confession” (29 years ago) to Yuri still casually flirting with him, like when he brought Shura to her (18 years ago). And if Shiro ever caved, of course.

What’s even more interesting though is that, despite that we already knew “rinka” had a special attachment to Yuri, it’s to the point that now it seems to sense whenever she’s not okay, be it physically (protecting her from Shiro’s wrath) or emotionally (after Shiro rejected her).

And actually I thought maybe that’s why eventually it ended up becoming Satan through possessing a human (Goro) and developing an ego?

Because maybe initially lil “rinka” just wanted to cheer Yuri up, it’s just that developing an ego through possessing a human made him, well, the horrible demon God we met a few times.

image

Just like Mephisto explained for the rest of them Baals.

Honestly, I think Goro being possessed (the cliffhanger of ch103) was around 29 years ago and, besides a probably huge boom inside Section 13, nothing else happened with him, Satan, or Yuri back then.

My evidence of this is Arthur because he was already born and probably a teenager when the Blue Night happened:

image

and also in general the Blue Night matches with the twins’ birth 16 years ago:

image
image

because that’s when Suguro Tatsuma’s dad, Shima Takezou and Konekomaru’s father all died.

So we know that the Blue Night started in Asylum, probably because that’s where Yuri was taken during her pregnancy, and that Satan killed a lot of people when the twins were born, trying to get his own durable vessel, until Mephy promised him he’d give him Rin once Rin would be old and good enough

Moving on, I still think that Shiro is possibly the twins’ biological dad, even if how/when while including Satan in the equation is a bit hard to figure out entirely for now (and assuming of course that the Order is not wrong about who hosted Satan between Yuri and the dad). xD

Clearly though, Yuri never stopped loving him and, if Shura was so jealous of Yuri for years, it could be that even as a kid she noticed that Shiro was obviously taken by her too.

image

Doesn’t mean Shiro ever caved, of course, but I find interesting that he was still a very cold guy when he just got Shura (18 years ago) and yet with Tatsuma…

image
image

he seemed less aggressive, more helpful and similar to the man we met as Rin’s foster dad (16/17 years ago). Mentioning this moment btw, I doubt Shiro knew back then whose kid he was supposed to kill with that sword.

Finally, there is Mephisto’s constant warning about the flashback ending “in tragedy”, but Rin already knows that, having never met his mother? So why would Mephy warn him several times? Because something will happen between Shiro & Yuri and Rin should keep in mind that it will end badly anyway?

I don’t know for sure, but for now it does seem like Yuri wouldn’t have minded having a family with Shiro, if ch89 is an indication of anything.

image
image

And if Shiro caved at some point (maybe taking care of Shura, a kid, made him realize some stuff, idk), that could explain why he seems genuinely different and less cold when he met Suguro Tatsuma.

Last thing: if Shiro is the twins’ dad, the question is did he ever know? There are plenty of reasons he would not have been able to kill Yuri’s sons, the fact he loved her being the most prominent, but whether he knew or not…

image

I’m guessing the favor he owed Mephisto, should he yield to a demon (baby demon Rin or possessed-by-Satan!Yuri?), would have forced him to raise the twins as “weapons for the Order” anyway.

What I mean is, if Shiro didn’t know, then Mephisto just had to ask him to raise the twins and then the rest is history. However, if Shiro knew he was the biological dad to Satan’s sons, Mephisto could have forbidden him from ever telling them as a part of that favor.

image
image

Because clearly Mephisto is the one who allowed the twins’ existence. It means that whether Shiro wanted to raise them from the beginning or was forced to, he had to obey Mephisto on some stuff no matter what (especially since we don’t know what conditions his Morinas’ contract could have been updated with).

I like Shiro raising the twins out of love for Yuri, it’s really beautiful, but I also like the twist that he might really be their biological dad because, be it for Rin…

or Yukio…

that possible truth is going to be very hard to swallow.

Sorry for the long post, I just can’t wait to find out. 😀
