how do you think the next tg chapters will go? I’m tired of waiting <_<

Hi! Hmm, well, since V seems to also be a part of this arc, as we saw they attacked both humans and ghouls only to be stopped by Takeomi, I’m worried about things really going smoothly to free Kaneki once the Qs comfort each other.

Anyway, I think the next chapter will be mainly about Mutsuki and Urie, aka Mutsurie because…

image

it’s wayy past its due time. xD Once Urie will finally speak about his feelings and that Mutsuki will feel like living again though, they should focus  once more on the mission but that’s exactly when I think V might show up…

image

…especially where Touka is, since she’s currently alone and close to achieving her goal (of freeing her husband), while the Qs are together and everyone else is fighting against these humanoid clones Dragoneki released.

Of course, it’s also possible that V won’t intervene, or at least not where Touka is, but there is a reason they were shown to attack both sides in ch151 in my opinion: they don’t want the current situation to end well for the ghoul/human first common front, otherwise their equilibrium will crumble even more.
Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if we were supposed to fear a little more for Touka’s character, which explains why I think it’s possible she might meet some V dudes.

Similarly, initially I wasn’t really sure of any ideas mentioning Donato’s involvement and him attacking Amon, taking advantage of the general confusion, but…

image

…since Seidou has yet to appear in this arc and that Amon will probably need help to face Donato, I’m not completely dismissing these ideas either.

In general, I guess it depends on how long the current arc will last. Volume 14 is supposedly over (or we’re missing its very last chapter) since its release is in a week, so Kaneki being freed could not be until the end of vol15 because it would make a good cliffhanger and anyway, narratively speaking, the current common front between humans and ghouls has to last a little for its first time.

So my two takes are as follows:

  • Kaneki is as good as freed as soon as the Qs comfort each other and are ready to focus on the mission, joining with Touka to help her
  • Kaneki is not exactly freed as long as the common front doesn’t notice V raising havoc and, in the meantime, we’ll have other issues like a Donato vs Amon little conflict.

Finally, since Dragoneki parallels the Nagaraj…

image

…who knows if this solution won’t be tried too, especially if the situation doesn’t seem to get solved quickly enough? At least, until the Qs and Touka manage to reach where Kaneki is when it’s almost too late, or something similar. 🙂

So you see, for now I’m not really sure. ^^” I think I need slightly more focus being given to characters who aren’t the Qs or Touka, that way we’ll know more surely if Kaneki will be saved “soon” or not yet.

I hope it helps a little, have a nice day Anon! 🙂

Do you think we’ll ever know about the other mourning lockets UT has? :>

Hi Anon! And yeah I think so, at least a little more than the absolute nothing we currently “know”, if just because Claudia is one of his lockets. 🙂

image

In the first place, I think we’re bound to get a flashback/story time about UT at some point, because there is a lot to explain between:

  • why he deserted
  • what happened 50 years ago since it’s mentioned 3 times
  • how he met Claudia?
  • how, why and when he became the Undertaker (my current take)
  • when he decided to start experimenting about the BD project
  • who taught him that having fun was the best feeling
  • and hopefully why, briefly, these other lockers are important to him (were they friends with UT?)

Besides, the locket of “Alex B” is often emphasized on too, it’s the only other locket we’ve seen clearly, so maybe at least this one will get a little focus.

That being said, not to crush your hope, but it’s rather natural that Claudia’s would get more focus than the rest of his lockets since she’s the grandmother of one of the MC and she probably (in)directly ties with the part of the plot about “who killed Vincent and why”, since she was his predecessor. :3

Anyway, all we can do is wait. UT seems to be involved with this arc anyway, and there is Othello who was there 50 years ago so we should know more about UT (and possibly his lockets) thanks to these two facts, at some point towards the end of the arc. :))

I hope I answered your questions, have a nice day!

Since it seems that Johnny Brownie really is some kind of supernatural creature and has the white aesthetic (as a complete opposite to Sebby,) is it possible that he’s some kind of angel that for some reason hangs around Queen Victoria…? I mean, angels haaaave been mentioned before. (Let’s all forget where and why.) Maybe? I mean I haven’t seen anything to counter it, but I can’t think of anything to support the theory either. Got thoughts? :}

image

Hi (for a moment there, I was so confused wondering who you were talking about with “Johnny Brownie” xDD)! Don’t worry Anon, you can always share your thoughts or ask about something even if you weren’t the first one to raise the subject.

Anyway, about Brownie there… xD

…he’s either a Shinigami, an Angel or another Demon for me (since we’re not sure yet if there are other “kinds” of supernatural beings), but for now I’m slightly more about him being a Shinigami because:

  • I seriously didn’t like the anime so I don’t need yet another parallel with it
  • I rather like the idea of Seb being the only “supernatural creature” of the story (as in Angel/Demon, since Shinigamis are originally humans). Besides, since Demons in Kuro aren’t made out to be “good” or to become it, I’d rather have the opposite with Angels (as in, they’re supposed to be pure/good and not become… like what happened with Ash in the anime).
  • the Shinigami Organization (or rather maybe world or dimension?) seems to get bigger and more depth with each arc, so it would be interesting (in my opinion) if one part of Kuro’s possible big bad was linked to it
  • there is something about “50 years ago” with Victoria too, so maybe Brown is a deserting Shinigami, like UT?

Anyway, I’m kinda done with anime parallels (one reason I didn’t like the 2CT being the awful parallel to S2, which was even worse than s1 overall), so Brown not being an angel would be more interesting to me, especially if he and Victoria are the big bad (since it also happened in the anime, lmao).

For now, all that we know about Brown is that he’s not as air-headed as he pretends to be…

and also that he can travel very fast like Demons (and probably Angels too) or Shinigamis:

That signs him as a supernatural being, very probably, but that’s all we can be sure of for now.

I hope I answered your question, have a nice day Anon! ^3^

[x] Okay so, the highlighted part…

  • is either meant in the sense that she’s super brave, strong, amazing and a true friend who doesn’t give a shit about Yukio being possessed by Satan, so the dude is impressed
  • or it’s meant to be a throwback to the fact that she’s not a regular human/exorcist.

And that’s the little theory of Shiemi’s family being Shemihaza’s nephilims, which would maybe explain why she’s able to make her familiar grow so big all the time.

Also maybe I’m reading way too much into this, but since Amaimon was watching over Shiemi several chapters ago when her mom told her that super important thing and she was very upset…

image

I wonder if him hitting her was not because she was interrupting Satan but rather because Amaimon didn’t want Satan to attack her?

If you remember the charts about Gehenna’s power structure from vol19, Amaimon considers himself to be neutral but follows Mephisto’s orders because he owes him.
So, since I still doubt that Mephisto is really Satan’s ally considering that he seemed to be against Assiah’s destruction, I wouldn’t be surprised if Amaimon was supposed to be keeping an eye on Shiemi during the current crisis, by Mephisto’s orders.

After all, Mephisto releasing Amaimon at the beginning of this arc and making him a student in Shiemi’s class is probably not a coincidence either.
So, all that to say that maybe that’s why Amaimon made her stop, because

he is supposed to keep her out of harm’s way but he isn’t strong enough to beat Satan if Satan/Yukio had decided to hurt Shiemi for getting in the way.

As I said though, maybe I’m reading way too much into this. xD Anyway, I loved this chapter!

Can you do a post about God as supernatural being in Kuroshitsuji? Could be angels making contracts with humans also?

Hello, but I’m sorry Anon, I don’t really get your first question? Could you specify a little? I answered another Anon about the few theological settings of Kuro’s universe in my point of view if you want, maybe it can be useful for your first question?

As for your second one, it seems hard to think Angels can make contracts with humans, I mean, only Demons eat souls. I guess there is nothing certain since Sensei never addressed the subject, but logically speaking I’d really say no.

Seb made a contact with Ciel so that other authorities (like Shinigamis who collect the souls of the dead) would understand that Ciel’s soul is his when he dies, unless Seb himself breaks his end of the contract. That’s the reason I don’t see why Angels would make contracts since they probably don’t eat souls like Demons. I’m not even sure they’re allowed to interact with humans, unlike Demons who are supposed to tempt humans.

Sorry I can’t help so much, but have a nice day. :))

Hi! I’m new, but also I’ve been binge reading many of your kuro theories! Im not sure if I have all of them yet, so I don’t know if it’s a general consensus or not, but people talk about RC soul being eaten by Seb. Does it have to have been eaten? I always understood by reading it that OC sacrificed his brother, to “pay for seb to cross the river” not that it was necessarily eaten? What do you think? 1 ->

Welcome Anon 😀 And thank you so much for the very kind words. ❤
I have to say it’s quite amazing that you read several posts of mine considering how much I ramble and often change my mind, so kudos to you for being so nice about it! ^3^

For your questions, please keep in mind that it will all be made clearer/confirmed in the chapters of February/March, so my thoughts are really based on previous flashbacks only:

  • was real!Ciel’s soul really eaten by Seb?

It’s what’s been implied for a long time in my opinion, especially lately…

image

…Since Real!Ciel seemed pretty pissed at Seb, apparently “doing something to him” 4 years ago.

Besides, in the Campania arc…

image

…I think this panel speaks for itself, considering that demons can only eat souls. In other words, yes, for me it always was pretty clear that Seb ate real!Ciel’s soul, it was “the fee for crossing” during the summoning.

I mean, that’s exactly what ch135 was all about:

image

When real!Ciel was sacrificed and stabbed through the heart, his soul made “the finest offering for a devil”, the real irony being that Seb entered a contract with his twin brother and is supposed to get his soul too, once the contract ends.

This leads me to your second question…

  • did our!Ciel sacrifice his brother to summon Seb?

…and to a shortcut that is very important to avoid in my opinion, which is to say that “our!Ciel sacrificed his brother and sent his soul to Hell”.

Initially, it’s what’s implied, I’ll give you that, but ever since the GW arc, it seems rather important to notice the huge possibility of our!Ciel having survivor’s guilt instead. In other words, he sees himself as the worst human being ever because he thinks he “sacrificed his brother” but…

image

for now, nothing in the boys’ relationship vouches for something like that to have happened.
Again, this is something that will be made clearer in the upcoming chapters of February/March, but our!Ciel was likely to be sacrificed right after his brother as we could see in previous flashbacks, so I doubt he bears any responsibility in what happened to his brother as both boys always shared the same fate.

So, it’s just my opinion but for me, the truth is that our!Ciel was so traumatized by what they went through that he believes he’s guilty of what happened to his brother…

image

…but that’s what’s called survivor’s guilt and also probably the reason he even took his brother’s identity afterwards.

As for what Seb said during his first meeting with Ciel, here’s how I currently interpret it:

image

For the part about God, please refer to this post. It was emphasized on lately, which is why I think it plays a significant part in why Seb accepted to be summoned.

Finally, I’m sorry to insist but I really doubt that our!Ciel sent his bro’s soul to Hell. Actually, if somehow our!Ciel did something akin to “sacrificing his brother”, it must have been a last minute thought full of despair like “better him first than me”, but the cult is responsible for Seb taking a liking to the twin’s soul when he heard Ciel call and decided to show up.

The cult is what defiled the boys’ soul, it is what killed the twin and it’s the twin’s death that led our!Ciel to lose his faith in God, desperately calling for help, which is what Seb heard…

image

and which is why/when he ate the twin’s soul as “fee for crossing”.

That’s my current take on it, I hope it helps?

Anyway Anon, you know, I love theories too 😀 I love reading them, always have, so I’m glad if you’re one more to share the feeling. ^_^
However, to be honest, if I have so many theories, even some that contradict others sometimes, it’s because Kuro’s pacing is really not the best. It’s a good thing if you’re like me and read theories to keep your impatience in check though. xD I find that to be rather useful, haha.

Thanks again for passing by and for the very nice words! ❤ Please have a wonderful day!
